The professional-managerial class has been around for some time, but has been increasing in power in the latest decades and has now assumed full control. They have no pity on us and will use all of their might to destroy us utterly. They're the Inner Party that Orwell wrote about in 1984, interested in power for its own sake.

"[The managerial class] are not managers in the narrow sense, but scientists, technicians, teachers, journalists, broadcasters, bureaucrats, professional politicians: in general, middling people who feel themselves cramped by a system that is still partly aristocratic, and are hungry for more power and more prestige. These people look towards the USSR and see in it, or think they see, a system which eliminates the upper class, keeps the working class in its place, and hands unlimited power to people very similar to themselves. It was only after the Soviet régime became unmistakably totalitarian that English intellectuals, in large numbers, began to show an interest in it."

There is a lot of overlap between Zionism and the racist ethnostate that the alt-right wants for America. No immigration, deportation of illegal aliens, border wall, a government that serves the needs of the chosen race: Israel has it all.

Chapter 16 is his best chapter and one of the strongest arguments for ethno-nationalism you will find, outside of dissident circles. That chapter would not look out of place in Greg Johnson’s White Nationalist Manifesto. It is both an argument against multiculturalism and an argument in favor of ethno-nationalism. He is careful to avoid directly mentioning the biological aspect of nationalism, but no rational person can read that chapter and no think Hazony assumes a biological root to nationalism.

Haidt has done good work on the psychology of political persuasion. He's a self-described liberal who discovered some of the personality traits that correlate with political belief. One of the most telling discoveries was that conservatives tend to be curious about what liberals think and why, while liberals see conservatives as inferior "other," inherently incapable of thought.

Here's his TED talk on the moral roots of leftists and conservatives: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/jonathan_haidt_on_the_moral_mind.html

Short version, conservatives have five values while leftists have only one.

Are you really saying that people are homeless because they are anti-psychiatry?

No, the ACLU was anti-putting people in mental institutions because they had committed no crime.

The state hospitals incarcerated non-criminals against their wills in inhumane conditions. This was a violation of due process and their civil liberties. There is STILL public funding for mental institutions. However, people now must either be there because they are a danger to themselves or others, they have voluntarily checked in, or they are criminally insane. Especially now that we have drugs to successfully treat most forms of mental illness so that people can function in society, the involuntary incarceration of the insane has no legal or moral basis. Especially since they were widely used to shut up undesirable mentally handicapped people, too, and a number of reports revealed that many of the so-called insane may not have been any such thing. It was a good way to get rid of a troublesome wife, though, if you have a doctor willing to sign the right papers...

Psychiatry is evil.

Whoa...are you a Scientologist‽ That's a big tell right there.

Yes, it's the new normal. It's going to be Gattaca from now on, with "valid" and "invalid" stamped on all of us. The left's institutions are busily Otherizing any conservative thought. To participate in any part of society they control, you will have to conform or be cast out.

And for any leftists sniggering at the idea, they'll do it to you, too. Remember what happened to the feminists? They happily silenced others before they themselves were silenced and cancelled. Now where are they? Nobody knows. They've been unpersoned.

Bleeding heart liberals no doubt.

Leftists, not liberals.

The mentality comes from the left's only value: harm reduction. They see people who aren't living as well as they could, see harm being done, and get really angry about it. Then then use the only tool in their toolbox: forcing people via government intervention. Read more here.

when society forced them into debt and hiding, being chased by police

What...?

Huh?

These people love drugs more than they love living with a roof over their heads. That's the whole point. They like living like this.

Another man, who wouldn’t tell me his name, said he was offered drug treatment but always said no. “Out here I feel like a king,” he explained. “I have everything I need, why would I give that up?”

The cops don't chase them, in fact they are explicitly forbidden to interfere. You are just making things up.

Some are mentally ill. But what can we do about that? We can't take them off the street and imprison them in state hospitals. They have committed no crime. In America the ACLU fought long and hard to close the mental asylums, and they won.

Widespread homelessness among the mentally ill can be traced back to the anti-psychiatry movement of the 1960s and 1970s and the influential works of writers such as Thomas Szasz, Erving Goffman, Ken Kesey, and R.D. Laing. These authors maintained that sufferers of mental illness were a kind of political prisoner to an unjust social structure and that they were "really just marching to a different drummer and should be free to do their marching in the streets," and so paved the way for the wholesale deinstitutionalization of mentally ill individuals in the U.S. When many of them ended up homeless and alone, posing a danger to themselves and sometimes to others, civil liberties activists "snuffed out any lingering possibility that the state hospitals and the community mental health centers might treat the vast majority of the seriously mentally ill" by reinterpreting their condition of homelessness as a state of emancipation.

This case is useful reading, it set a precedent outlawing the involuntary commitment of the mentally ill: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joyce_Patricia_Brown

Basically, the ACLU and the usual left-wing suspects went to court to fight for her right to live in a subway grate and throw her feces at passerby. And here we are today.

So the fact that you steadfastly refuse to say which country you're from can only lead me to believe it's one of the deplorable ones.

What I'm saying is that not paying anything other than accepting the privilege the US demand to play World Bullies-- I mean World Police as they see fit to serve themselves -- no least for their own protection (see Cold War) -- is already all the fair share that needs to be paid.

No. This is untrue. You're not paying your fair share of the load, you know it, and you refuse to pay. That's why you can have nice things. Negligible defense spending.

Ask yourself: why have the US been tolerating the bad "fair share payment" morale for so long?

Because globalists have been in charge of the US government, and it's not their money. Why should they care?

Islamophobia is indeed a form of racism. That you deny it makes me all the more sure you have a huge problem with it in your country. After all, why refuse to answer such an easy question? And in such an intellectually dishonest way, by implying I'm some kind of creep.

Come on, tell us where you're from. Is it one of the countries whose ass we kicked, or whose ass we saved?

There is no fair share to pay.

Sure there is. Member states must contribute 2% of their budget to defense spending. Most aren't doing it and haven't done it for a long time. Pointing out that it's not part of the treaty that founded NATO still does nothing to stop the fact that NATO countries are worthless freeloaders who aren't bearing their fair share of the load. And they do it with glee, just like you, pointing out that they can't be forced to play fairly and that their people would vote them out if they implemented a level playing field.

Just stop bullying countries like Venezuela and start taxing your damn billionaires

Oh, you're one of those. I thought Venezuela wasn't socialist and never was in the first place? Did that change while I wasn't looking? Was there a Hate Week where the speaker changed his idea in mid-sentence and everyone pretended not to notice?

Demographically, Islam is a future keystone of Europe. The American left recognizes this and that's why it wisely treats Islam with a respect that is both morally and politically sound. Islamophobia, a kind of racism, is irrational and somewhat subconscious in the white mind – in the same place as conspiracy theories and paranoia. One doesn't need to know anything about Islamic theology to recognize that.

European welfare state model is unsustainable, particularly w/o the hapless US taxpayers funding their defense.

EU Launch New Army Uniform. Wasn't that "EU Army" a conspiracy theory dreamed up by nasty Brexiteers? Remainers said the entire idea was a load of rubbish, on par with suggestions the moon landings were faked and that Elvis was still alive. by Chipit in WorldNews

This EU army is not for defense. Europe already has that in NATO.

It will be used to quell any anti-EU/anti-globalist uprising from citizens in member states.

Ha, ha, ha...of course. You won't say. Naturally, because that would destroy your narrative of being pure and good like Bernie Sanders (a Judas goat for the corporate Democrats as you know of course) told everyone. Riddle me this: would you be able to afford all of those fantastically expensive social programs without a distant foreign country paying a ruinous amount from their own citizens' pockets for your defense? Military spending is incredibly costly, and you've got an idiot to do it for you. European politicians were quite open about refusing to carry their fair share of the load, saying clearly that if they spent the required amount on defense they would be voted out of office by their own voters. The vast majority of Europe haven't paid their fair share for decades.

Do we really have something to lose as Americans if we pull back our external activity? The Cold War is over, and it seems the more fingers we have in pies like NATO, the Middle Eastern countries, and so forth, the more problems we create.

Let Europe defend Europe. They are not incapable nascent and fragile democracies anymore. Giving Europe its self-determination is the mark of a true ally. Granted, it might mean compromises to their various social welfare states or tax increases because military might is expensive, but it is their decision to make.
