"Transphobes have always been the fucking bane of the LGBT community"

Always? This whole transgender craze is quite recent, relatively speaking. And saying "I don't like dick" isn't transphobia, that is just being a lesbian. Sorry, but it is time to face reality and realise that a lot of people aren't going to like your dick.

"because you reject our history"

Ironic, considering how much you hail the unidentified trans people of colour at Stonewall.

"actively work with far righters and NAZI's"

"Everybody who disagrees with me is a Nazi / right-winger!"

No mate, I am very much left-leaning, and so is a fair proportion of the people here.

"because you just make the LGBT community so much duller."

If dull means "exclusively normal and stable people", then that is fine with me. You can have your spaces, and we will have ours. Just, don't call yourselves LGB, I don't want to be associated with you.

"Fuck your reactionary bullshit, fuck your historical revisionism, fuck your white nationalism."

Here is the thread on this sub that supposedly prompted this anger. Oh, the irony of being this reactionary whilst complaining about "reactionary bullshit".

Transphobes have always been the fucking bane of the LGBT community

That part actually made me laugh when I first read it. He’s reacting to lesbians discussing not liking dick in this tantrum. So, what he’s saying is, “homosexuals have always been the bane of the gay community!” Uhh, okay.

But, you know, I also know a fair amount of older LGB people. Curiously, none of them remember trans people around much from the 70s-mid 2000s.

I met 1 in the late 90's. They were unicorns they were so rare.

Now they are everywhere.

When I started university in 2010, there wasn’t a single trans or otherwise gender special person in our campus’s gay group. It was all LGB and TQ never came up. Somehow, TQ just exploded in that group in my senior year with no precursor. Always been around my ass.

Why do you think that happened? Do you remember if something specific prompted it? When I came to my college in 2015 the QSU was almost entirely T, and genderspecial. There were a few ssa people, but none identified as gay, only queer, nonbinary, agender, pangender, those kinds of labels. I'm curious now if that "shift" happened on many campuses around the same time.

If I had to guess, tumblr. In fall 2010-fall 2012, it was LGB people. Spring 2013, it was suddenly a bunch of lesbians who became transmen and a bunch of straight girls who said they were asexual, pansexual, or demisexual. They were all big into tumblr. They were also all kind of awkward people who spent way too much time online and seemed to be looking for approval for others.

Idk. For whatever reason, tumblr seemed to push insecure people down rabbit holes and get people to go from 0 to 100 on things.

Huh, interesting. Were people just not using Tumblr before 2012 or did it actually come into existence then? I feel like TRA stuff weirdly arose somehow out of hipster culture, but I don't know how to explain that link.

I wish I'd been around to experience the gay group on my campus before it got overwhelmed with gender ideology.

"Fuck your reactionary bullshit, fuck your historical revisionism, fuck your white nationalism."

This self-projection on their part is something else. Nobody overreacts more or revises history more than the TRAs and their little groupies do. Not even going to try to make sense of the "white nationalism" part.

Straight man: lesbians who won’t have sex with men are white nationalists.

It's a common behavior with narcissists. False accusations are usually confessions.

Oh so it WAS us! I dunno how I missed that fact, lol. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm gonna have to go back and re-read everything in that new light, lol. I was like, "Man, I wonder what that radfem did to piss this guy off..." because I thought when he used the word "TERF" he actually meant a radfem. 🤣 I guess if you're same-sex-attracted that automatically makes you a TERF. Wonder how the OP would feel if he realized that over 70% of this group is LGB...

[–][deleted] 31 insightful - 2 fun31 insightful - 1 fun32 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

TERF has no meaning now. It just now is shorthand for "they believe in transphobic notion that sex exists and some people are homosexual or bisexual"

But if they don't support trans people, they're not real LGB in their eyes.

Sometimes I think TRAs have their own transcyclopedia or transhistory book which they get all their alternate facts from in order to maintain their jaw-droppingly lucid delusions from day to day.

"Reactionary"? "Historical revisionism"? Projection much? It's funny how this was the forum he was complaining about. Have you ever seen the comic of the long neck stick figure character who stuck their head all the way across the road and through the door of a cabin and all the way to the back to a solitary figure sitting quietly at a table, just to say to them, "Leave me alone!". This is just like that. I recently saw a massive list of trans-friendly "rainbow" subs they could easily go to instead, but instead they come here just to be offended.

I would love them to level those "far-right", "white-nationalist", charges at me. I can recall some presumptious genderwoo accusing me of similiar things, including being a Christian or someone religious. Wrong on all counts, dips***.

And does he know that having been looked at strangely by others for most of history that same-sex couples wouldn't love to simply be Dull? To blend into the crowd and live life like any other people? Who wants to be called "queer" and different and be gawked at like some freak? Well, I guess these people do... Touche.

I still remember the days when I genuinely thought people would eventually treat same sex couples and same sex attracted people as normal, but since the tq crowd muscled their way into the public consciousness, all of that is ruined.

Yep; have often thought exactly this. Only those who take being seen as normal for granted can consider it boring... and not realize what a enormous PRIVILEGE that is.
