If I had to guess, tumblr. In fall 2010-fall 2012, it was LGB people. Spring 2013, it was suddenly a bunch of lesbians who became transmen and a bunch of straight girls who said they were asexual, pansexual, or demisexual. They were all big into tumblr. They were also all kind of awkward people who spent way too much time online and seemed to be looking for approval for others.

Idk. For whatever reason, tumblr seemed to push insecure people down rabbit holes and get people to go from 0 to 100 on things.

Huh, interesting. Were people just not using Tumblr before 2012 or did it actually come into existence then? I feel like TRA stuff weirdly arose somehow out of hipster culture, but I don't know how to explain that link.

I wish I'd been around to experience the gay group on my campus before it got overwhelmed with gender ideology.
