Lot to unpack there.

Didn’t escape me that the more based comments mocking the pearl clutchers were decently upvoted. On Reddit, that says something.

Once again, mid wit Redditors who think they are the smartest people alive finally learn something that was obvious to all of us “stupid” people from the jump.

Namely, that all of the woke/DEI shit done by companies was performative and in some cases done under some amount of duress. Once it became clear that a) people didn’t like it and b) government was no longer going to apply pressure on companies to pay lip service to the nonsense, they couldn’t drop it fast enough.

It’s hilarious how some of them bash capitalism but don’t even understand that they are the capitalists wet dreams. These are almost guaranteed to be 30/40 something year old childless weirdos whose entire personality revolves around what they consume (or more accurately, what they are SEEN consuming), they have disposable income to buy non-essential tchotchkes, tickets and trips to conventions, movies, and theme parks, and will line up to hand over their money as long as who they buy from panders to their Reddit informed socio-sexual politics.

I have a pre-teen so Lego is very much a thing in my house. Browsing the Lego aisles at the store shows me that most of the sets made now are geared towards older kids and adults. That’s not a coincidence. It’s the same with Disney. Like Lego, their true target customers are the Peter Pan “kidults”. Someone once said that Disneys ideal “family”, from a customer standpoint, are fag couples with no kids. All that sweet sweet disposable income up for grabs.

I mean, look at these fucking losers. Scouring through annual reports, looking for the “correct” language, like fucking inquisitors seeking out heretics. What well adjusted person has the time or desire to do that?

Further, in all of these kinds of threads, there’s always one of the mid-wits who accidentally comes close to hitting the nail on the head without realizing it. For me, it was the person who brought up how all the “side switching” ie people deciding they love a company one day and hating it the next over political stuff, was making them crazy because they couldn’t keep up with it.

They fail to see how the people in their little bubble make their politics their ENTIRE FUCKING PERSONALITY. Which also means they essentially live their lives consuming and waiting to be told what to think by others. So they will just go with whatever way the wind is blowing.

They are also HUGELY attuned to social approval and consensus as opposed to having any sort of bedrock principles, so they falsely assume everyone else is like that, too.

So they don’t think “are my beliefs right? Are my actions moral?” They think “will people on TV and social media be ok with my beliefs and actions”.

This is how you end up with people who think it’s totally fine to vandalize Teslas and harass their owners.

They do it because the TV and Reddit said it was ok. Just remember that these are the same people who call the rest of us gullible, stupid, easily influenced, and uninformed.
