Admittedly I have a few Amiibos (even then not a lot) myself as they serve a gameplay function/bonus for Nintendo Switch games. But yes, I've never understood the purpose of non-functional figurines, such a waste of money, time, and space. Also, the correct term would be consumerism. Because the writing was much better then, some fans assumed things would get better with their return after the removal of actress Jodie Whitaker and writer Chris Chibnall.
