It's one thing to go off on a profanity laces tyrade. It's another to take the work and say "well it's not very good, the plot moves too fast, the characters aren't interesting, it's too derivative of XYZ" all opinions of course but if you're going to cry about that then how the hell you expect to improve? People are just going to stop talking to you. It just shifts the goal posts ever farther towards normal criticism having the same impact on these people as actual verbal abuse.

With the gender stuff as well. Basic questions, what is a woman? How can you be non-binary when there's no objective metric to determine that? Basic questions kind of make the whole thing fall apart because there aren't good answers but instead of reevaluating their beliefs they just take it as a personal attack.

I'm not an expert on Korean politics and unfortunately my knowledge of Korean is nearly non-existent so I can't read primary sources. But I think it is basically right to describe him as a right wing anti-communist president. In the context of Korean politics though I think that means more "anti-north" than anything. But I don't think there's really any "pro-north" positions truly. It's more a case of how strict they want to handle the North. Either hardine aggressive stance or more conciliatory stance. It also seems that people who want to adopt a more friendly and diplomatic stance towards the north are often accused of being communists. The political discourse is very heated it seems.

Korea is a very interesting country though despite how I think it's basically two dysfunctional societies, one capitalist, one communist, that you can compare if you want. South is obviously the better place to live all things considered but the propaganda war definitely tends to color things a certain way. North Korea for example does seem like it's definitely a communist shithole but I think the western ideal of it tends to be greatly exaggerated. There's people going there and living there, some degree of industry, and some countries have diplomatic relations with them. It's not totally cut off from the world but western media tends to ignore this.(probably because they won't allow journalists).

The south on the other hand is flashy and quite a high standard of living, with the highest suicide rate and lowest birth rates in the 1st world. Crazy feminists. Crazy anti-feminists. Crazy pseudo Christian cults. American style mega churches. It's a weird place. Also the fried chicken is better than the US. And they drink more than the Irish.

Korea is like the most extreme country on the planet I think. That probably best describes my kinda racist opinion I've picked up over the years that the Koreans are crazy. I like them, they're friendly. But they're fucking wild and go balls to the wall with whatever they do. Capitalism. Communism. Christianity. Gaming. Drinking. It's like moderation as a concept is non-existent.

South Korea has long had a, let's call it a chaotic political climate. Lots of corruption.

In the west you're going to be getting most of the news through a propagandistic lense. South is the US ally and a stable healthy democracy, North is a Communist shithole, true to some extent but like anything a gross oversimplification.

Since North and South Koreans are all Koreans it's not enough to say that communism is the only reason why North Korea is an insane dystopia. Other communist countries around the world have similar problems but are nowhere near North Korea. Likewise South Korea being capitalist isn't enough to describe its problems since other capitalist countries have similar problems but not quite to the same extent.

What North and South Korea do share are the same cultural roots. So it's not surprising that the political situations in both countries are dysfunctional. They share the same root culture.

There was a time not so long ago that South Korea was an impoverished dictatorship and the North was seen as an attractive destination for defection. That situatuon has changed a lot as capitalism did allow for Korea to have it's economic miracle leaving the North behind especially after the collapse of the Soviet union. However the political situatuon in South Korea has always been quite chaotic and you don't get much of it in the western news cycle, usually Korea only pops up when the North does something stupid.

At the moment it appears that the current president was going to be impeached and jailed for a reason I don't fully understand, and that he tried to declare martial law to prevent that procedure and pull off a de facto coup. It seems at the moment this strategy has failed spectacularly.

It is safe to assume both countries have spies in the other and some degree of "infiltration" if it can be called that but I don't think it is significant. I think the president is likely using that to call upon the fear of the North to rally supporters.

I've become more racist as I've gotten older and learned more about Korea as I'm convinced their culture North or South tends to produce a lot of crazy. Generally nice people most of the time, good food, interesting history, but their societies are fucked.

I think generally what happens is that creative types are more tolerant of certain kinds of weirdness than the rest of the planet. Especially in college. The problems come about when you get these fully disconnected from reality coupled with the unfortunate tendency of many creative types to be unable to handle criticism constructively.

I've made the argument a few times in groups that I've been in that while I personally don't really give a rats ass if you want to come into work dressed like a drag queen, and in fact honestly I appreciate the entertainment, it gives off an air of unprofessionalism that will be viewed negatively in most public facing rolls. Yes the verbal criticism you are getting is mostly coming from people who are "triggered" and bigoted to some degree but the damning problem isn't them it's the people that see it and are smart enough not to say anything just writing us off entirely, opportunities are lost. I might get shit on for mentioning this, but I'm not making the rules by which society operates I just understand that if you want to break them you have to accept the consequences.

Basically I think a loud minority just ends up controlling the social dynamic. In any situation it seems the most intolerant and loudest voices set the standards. Be that progressive or regressive. It's why people cringe at thought of Mohammed cartoons. Enough intolerant people out there willing to behead you over it. Why you don't say "hmm maybe having gay characters in this kid show isn't a good idea" enough crazies to brand you as a biggot and destroy your career convinces most to stay silent.

It's the "wrong side of history" argument. Yeah you say I'm on the wrong side of history but history isn't here yet. History is written by the victors. Trump one again does that mean he is on the right side of history.

It just seems obvious to me that if you are trying to market something, making a marketing campaign that targets some wildly small demographic at the risk of alienating your core market with some culture war bullshit is a losing proposition. It was the same with the Disney gay stuff. It doesn't matter if it's mostly tame and not controversial to you and your circle. You publish it, you lose loads of your potential market. And damage the brand. It's nothing new either seems nobody remembers the decades long boycott of Disney from the Baptists.

I think it's one of those issues that just really resonates with female hysteria on both sides od the aisle. It's one of the more interesting statistics is that while opinions on abortions are basically split evenly between the sexes, women are more likely to take extreme positions on it. Think it's a consequence of emotional thinking.

Personally I don't care enough one way or the other despite my fairly strong opinions on it to think its a major issue worthy of much attention. I'll vote for people who don't share my opinion on it. But I know a lot of people who won't and it usually either boils down to emotional arguments about the poor dead babies or the emotional arguments about the poor women forced to become single mothers or something.

My theory is that dysphoria often essentially is a discomfort with one's self and gets misdiagnosed as gender dysphoria when it can better be described as self-dysphoria. After transition you are still you and so the dysphoria is still there.

I think some small proportion of the population do actually have gender dysphoria that might be cleared up by transition but I think it's very rare.

I'd assume it goes to court to determine whether or not the religious argument is sound. Which I think will prove difficult because the concept of choosing your own pronouns came about long after religious dogma was established and "Thou shalt not use they them pronouns" isn't so clearly written anywhere.

Looking at it with game theory sure. But let's think about that a bit.

Let's consider that if we allow trans women to play on the women's teams, and we consider that on average trans women perform superior at the sport to women.

Under such rules it's clear that even without teams forfeiting it's better to have trans women on your team if they are better players. Going a step further if there's no good limitation on who qualifies as a trans woman, it simply makes sense to just recruit men for the position anyway. Why have women's teams at all?

Even without forfeitures, it's clearly advantageous to let all players be trans women if they are better.

Ultimately thinking about things like game theory make a lot of assumptions though. One being that victory is the ideal state that everyone is striving for. One being that rules will generally be followed. And another being that people will actually participate.

In reality it's a bit more complicated. If I'm playing a game I can't win, I might just quit. Or if I'm really pissed off about it I might flip the board and scatter the pieces so nobody can play. Everyone hates me for this but do I care?

In terms of women's sports allowing men to compete totally removes any reason for having women's sports in the first place. Women who realize this are understandably angry about it and perfectly justified in flipping the board I think. The correct response I think is to make that threat.

Refusing to play is making the threat to flip the board. Nobody is going to come to a match that is forfeit. There's no match. You can't have a league if people refuse to play. All the women in women's sports need to simply refuse to play and shut out the league. That might not be an easy consequence free decision to make but it's the only decision they have. You either refuse to play with the men now and force the issue with the organizers to either side with the women or the trans women. Or you don't and get squeezed out by the transwomen and the ultimatum comes later when you're in a weaker position as this is normalized. Maybe they choose the trans women now and it destroys women's sports? OK, let it be destroyed. Walk off the court and refuse to play. Get kicked off the team. Whatever. Organizers can't make money from an all trans league. The men joining the women's leagues are only doing it because they want to have an easy win. They aren't going to keep doing it if they actually have to compete against their equals. They'll quit.

There's only one choice and it's to refuse to play. Would you enter into a game of chess where your opponent demands they can make two moves for every one of yours? Or do you flip the board and end the game, and make them pick up the pieces when they decide to play by the rules again?

I create a topic that doesn't exist before I create it. I then research the non-existant topic that didn't exist before yesterday by going out and finding the material I need that has of course always existed, queer basket weavers obviously do exist and nobody cared until me because homophobia or something, which is why nobody bothered to research them before, so I go do the research , tie it up in a nice bow of academic procedure and response, and come to a conclusion that is entirely immaterial to anything or anyone, all the while collecting a salary and getting passed along by the others who collect salaries because as soon as some one points out the Emperor has no clothes then everyone loses their jobs. I agree. Even describing sex as a spectrum basically reinforces the binary and doesnt make much sense. People are only saying this because to them spectrum equals rainbow. But despite the fact that the colour spectrum does consist of every color and gradient of it that we can imagine. That's only a consequence of human interpretation and perception of colour as separate entities when in reality the term is describing the range between two extreme points. In the case of color, short and long wavelengths. The start and end points of the range chosen by the limits of human perception but ultimately can be boiled down to the extremes and described by a single number between one and infinity.

So describing sex as a spectrum implies the existence of two extreme points. Two sex ideals. What could those two ideals be hmmm. Describing as a number it's the range between 0 and I guess 1. But the terms are defined by "has Y chromosome" and so everyone falls into either 0 or 1 with nothing in between. You either have a y chromosome or you don't. It's a binary. This is what describing it as a spectrum leads you too.

I think it's an oversimplification and attempting to use mathematical concepts to describe sex is idiotic at best. But if your claim is it's a spectrum not a binary. A spectrum still needs to be defined as a range between two points. What are those points. Male and female? Oops reinforced the binary. Where is the gradient between those two? How does that work. Oops 99.9% of the population falls easily into 0"no x vhromosome" or 1 "has y chromosome"

Most online discussions are extremely inaccurate with their terminology and don't bother to define terms or even attempt to figure out what the other party means. For the record I do believe that "gender" as defined as "the set of ideas surrounding what is considered "masculine" or "feminine" or neutral or otherwise, is very heavily influenced by social norms and is a lot more "fluid" or spectrum like than a lot of people want to admit. But it's also heavily culturally influenced and it's also biologically influenced by sex which isn't culturally defined or fluid in any sense. Take for instance the Chinese practice or foot binding. Only one sex was subject to that, and the realities of life mean that it was a practice that would only be imposed on women from men. (The opposite would not have worked). But the idea that mutilating your women's feet made them more feminine was entirely socially imposed and is in effect an immaterial concept of "gender" that didn't come about due to biological reality.

Meaning, clothing styles or personality may be described as masculine or feminine along a more gradient scale but it's still based on the physical reality of the person. Panties don't have a hole for the penis because women don't have a penis. Whether the woman wants to wear pink or blue or whatever is socially determined.

I don't think gender "exists" in any sort of material way that is scientific by any means. Much like the grammatical concept of gender, why is dog masculine and door feminine in Spanish? Can't really answer beyond "because people decided it was a long time ago so it is".

Why can't men get pregnant. That one is easy, because they don't have a womb. Why can't men wear dresses? Society decides whether it tolerates that or not. Society can't decide if the man can give birth though. Even if they say yes the man still can't.

She's having the conflict of knowing the reality of the situation but having it contradict what she is "supposed to think about it".

That's why these people tend to get so angry when you start poking holes and asking questions. They're projecting their own internalized feelings of being an "evil person" for thinking supposed "bigoted thoughts" on you or anyone else who makes it visible that there are issues. Essentially they have cognitive dissonance between propaganda and reality and choose to attack the person who brings up the question rather than trying to wrestle with the actual conflict and risk coming to a conclusion they know will end a lot of their social connections.

But as always what is the medical need? I can accept that gender dysphoria is a legitimate condition that if left untreated can result in increased risk of suicide. I don't think that is at all controversial. But what is controversial is the method of treatment. A man who believes himself to be a woman is encouraged to go to great expense and medical risk to appear as feminine as is possible with modern medical science but they still haven't changed their genetics, reproductive capability, and in most cases it is still obvious to anyone that the person is in fact male. Why is this the treatment which is "universally accepted" vs trying less invasive ways to resolve the dysphoria without needed surgeries or hormones? And even as such why is the go to method an attempt to change the outward appearance of the person to match their self image instead of exploring options to be comfortable with your current self?

It just seems very convenient to me that the one and only line of treatment allowed to be considered is the one that makes the most money for the medical industry long term. Question the "medical need" for such. Especially as long term data is lacking in actually considering a drop in suicides. It seems to me that many trans people still consider suicide post transition so the gender dysphoria is either not resolved by a transition or maybe the suicidal ideation are coming from another source entirely and the gender dysphoria is simply a cormobidity to a different problem.

This happened to a college buddy of mine. Guy married this girl. Girl then decides she is a guy and wants to transition. College buddy loves her and tries to be supportive and all that, but he's clearly not happy with the situation and doesn't actually consider her to be a man. Anyone with sense is telling him it's basically over, maybe you give the ultimatum of stop the transition or divorce, but between the general college liberal acceptance circle jerk and the need for affirmation, this guy is essentially in a kind of emotional Stockholm syndrome, and anyone who would say straight "you need to get a divorce" got alienated from those circles long ago so it's just constant "you need to accept his transition" for this poor guy.

Eventually, wife starts demanding that her husband present as a gay man in a gay relationship and this is finally too much for the guy and it breaks the whole thing and causes the inevitable divorce. (Which for the record, those of us who werent frozen out were saying for years "If your wife now a man, that means you are in a gay relationship, you aren't gay, if you accept her transition into a man that means that you have to break up because you aren't gay and can't have a relationship with a man, if you stay in the relationship that means you don't accept her transition into a man since again, you aren't gay, and this will eventually end the relationship as she won't accept your non-acceptence. So accept it or not its only a matter of the relationship ending now or much later with more heartbreak).

Anyway as far as I see it while you do need to understand that the relationship is more important than your own personal desires, that only works if both parties understand that. You're saying your husband's gender transition is more important than what you need? Why? The husband also thinks his sexual self actualization is more important than what you need, so this will also apply to post transition relationship when your husband decides he needs to cheat. Obviously him needing to cheat is more important than your considerations no? And when he finds someone he enjoys more than you his happiness will be more important than you as well.

It's just over. There's no way to salvage these relationships. It is all sunk cost fallacy. You either end it now on your own terms or spend yourself trying to continue a doomed relationship your husband ends it on his terms and leaves you out in the cold.

Basically here's the thing, I think relationships you do need to be selfless to some degree and defer to your partners needs, but, there's limits to that. It also applies to the partner as they need to do the same and defer to your needs.

If you want to transition and all that before you are in a relationship, whatever, that's on you. Once you are in a relationship? Sorry your partner is more important than your desires here. This is a pattern that I see all to often and it always goes, man finds codependent partner. Transitions when they feel safe as the partner is scared of calling it off. Relationship takes a nose dive and ultimately ends with the newly transitioned partner leaving often after cheating on their partner.

The relationship here is over its just a case of whether she realizes it now or later. My advice, you leave and don't look back. Your partner wants to spend loads of your shared money to pursue their own ambitions at the cost of your future together? Kick em to the kerb, go find a new partner that supports your future.

Once your partner is finished transitioning they no longer have reason to stay with you and will leave anyway. Better to make the first move before the damage is done.

So while I can, on the one hand sympathize withbeing annoyed that culture war shit can derail whatever it is you are doing, you can't play both sides. You lean into it you get the backlash. Like I saw this Netflix series about old video games once. Looked fun. Gets to the history of space invaders and they've got some trans person being interviewed as like space invaders world champion. Turned it off then stopped watching.

It can be entertaining. I just find the endless slog about US politics to get old. There's only so many ways you can talk about it. The world is a big place though and there's lots of interesting stuff happening that doesn't hit the 25hr news cycle.

I kinda like the BBC podcast they put out since it tends to cover a bunch of random stuff that isn't necessarily hitting the US news. I remember sitting through some corporate training session where some gay guy explained his life story and it started like "I knew I was gay when I was in kindergarten because I preferred spending time with boys."

And well, I'm not going to claim to know the inner workings of his mind but for a five year old that just sounds pretty normal to me. My experience is the boys that play more with the girls are more likely to grow up and be gay but it's still impossible to tell how a kid will grow up. At most it just gives you hints to the kids adult personality and there you can't claim there's a "gay personality" without falling to stereotypes.

I'm just not sure how you go about even explaining what "being gay is" to a child. I'm not someone who feels you need to protect kids completely from the idea as I think modern society goes a bit too puritan when it comes to sex and reproduction, and that's part of the problem we have now. But how do you explain to a prepubescent child that "being gay is" and how it's different than being friends? You don't.

Beyond "Adam and Steve are friends who live together" I don't think kids can or should have an understanding of what "gay" is. Because how do you explain the difference at that age? Two men living together doesn't mean they are gay.

I just don't see how you can explain the concept of gay without understanding the concept of sex. So at best these "gay children's books" are just going to be ineffective nonsense. At worse, stealth attempt by pedophiles for breaching the topic of sex.

I don't entirely disagree with the idea that, assuming actual nazis were a threat to your life, that violence is justified. After all I had better fight to protect my friends and family. Violence simply breeds more violence. It's always something you want to avoid. It's never something you want to use outside of the most dire necessity. I'm not sure kids watch this. I'm not exactly in touch with what is popular with the kids these days but I think Disney Channel shows are far from it. They put on a bunch of forgettable crap when I was a kid but kids watched it due to lack of choice since we didn't have the internet yet. Kids now I think would rather watch YouTube or play fortnight or whatever. The last decade I'd still be partly aware of what Disney was making between advertisements and merchandising but I haven't seen much recently and the only time I'm even aware these shows exist is when I hear something controversial.

Like most children's media I think it is marketed more towards getting the parents to buy it, since of course obviously children don't have the finances or the choice in the matter. So this sort or appeal to woke is really aimed at getting the parents to choose the show for their kids rather than what the kids liked.

I remember when I was a kid my parents would buy all sorts of religious or educational content that was, largely, garbage, but the people making it only had to get the parents to buy it and "traditional values" marketing as a merely passable product was enough to drive sales in church circles. Especially combined with the "don't buy secular, buy our stuff instead" type of marketing that was rampant. For example the "Harry Potter will make your kids Satan worshiping warlocks" scare getting used by the people selling Christian books at the church bookstores to market "wholesome christian content" like the left behind books and all that.

Though I often wonder if Jesus would not have trashed those bookstores seeing he has a history of interfering with profiteering inside the temple.

Alternatively the edutainment side is probably more relatable to a wide audience. You market a show of dubious educational quality as such and it can sell more than it's quality entails as the consumers are not the purchasers. It's marketing towards the parents.

Social media has basically allowed for crazy fringe types to get a much larger audience than they would otherwise and the social media companies are interested in pushing content that causes outrage as it draws eyeballs, politicians also realize that it's a lot easier to get people to.vote against something when they are angry rather than actually having to defend their own positions.

I think the, shall we say opinions held by these people are not "fake" I think they sincerely hold them. But before social media they'd get laughed out of the discussion. Also would have to deal with actual push back irl. Social media allows them to.curate a supportive bubble of happy think that let's them become more radical while also providing a platform to throw their content at people who otherwise would never see it.

My idea is none of this stuff is at its root, new. I think we've always had people who have really weird socially mal-adjusted ideas surrounding sexuality and gender. But before social media they wouldn't find like minded people. Imagine trying to find an audience for a gay children's book before 1990? It exists but the audience is fractured and can't communicate with each other. The only real difference is performative non-comformity with the patriarchy becomes politically expedient once political movements adopt such ideas as part of the process of pandering to special interests.

I have no reason to believe this book is obscene. I will say though I've always found the concept of gay children's books to be very creepy. They say it's to help gay kids accept themselves but I'm of the mind that anyone who is prepubescent isn't "gay" at least not yet. It always seems like adults imposing their own stereotypes on children. But it seems really bad to me to assume sexual activity of a child.

Teenagers are a bit of a different ballgame and I do think some degree of "accept yourself and you aren't broken and don't need to change yourself" is appropriate but again I find the adult interest in it to be suspect as I think teenagers are very at risk for sexual exploitation.

Can someone explain the hype around Harry Potter to me that caused them to go full retard agaonst JK Rowling. I know a ton of people were like unhealthily obsessed with it and I remember the dumbasses trying to make Quiddich a sport by hopping around on brooms rather than just actually playing sport. (Had to deal with them in university sometimes and was always "impressed with their maturity" in the sense I was amazed they made it to college. Perhaps full quiddich scholarships made up for the lack.)

But I digress, having finally decided to just bite the bullet and watch the HP films to see what's what, I'm just shocked that anyone considered these to be like, top tier amazing material. It's not bad per say but it's pretty typical YA fair. Complete with the dumb overused going to new school plot and getting into a clique, and the main character being a Mary Sue cliche. People actually unironically think these stories are good? They're kinda fun but I can't imagine how anyone over the age of 10 thinks they're actually good. Maybe the books are better?

I think you have more out and loud autogynophiles than you used to but I don't think they are motivated by misogyny so much as their fetish. I'm not even sure I would describe them as misogynistic so much as just holding extremely stereotypical and reductive views of women as inferior but they also have a humiliation fetish so they like to apply it to themselves as well. It's very odd.

I think most of the "social contangion" trans stuff has basically moved to college emo types identifying as "queer trans" or whatever because it's fashionable. But I don't think they actually have any sort of gender dysphoria. But I do think the current environment of it being "transphobic" to question anything does basically give the bad actors a free pass to harass people and then blame the victim for complaining.

Ideally I think we'd better diagnose the various psychological causes that lead to trans identification that can range from actual gender dysphoria, augohynophilia, or simple run of the mill depression manifesting as trans identification as their hope of "salvation" from depression.

I've never been convinced that transitions are the correct way to treat all of these. Some of the arguments for it make sense but ultimately I've always considered it strange that cosmetic surgeries and hormones were the go to when there's numerous causes of it. Also I'm not convinced that the actual underlying dysphoria is best treated by affirmation in most cases.

That said the dysphoria is a legitimate well documented psychological issue and I'm worried that it will get lost in the shuffle of the anti-trans backlash and go back to being a taboo topic which imho makes it more difficult to treat.

I'm perfectly happy to strictly segregate bathrooms, sports teams and other such places on the basis of biological sex though.

The average trans person likely is simply wanting to be left alone, trans people you don't do anything to draw attention to themselves and who otherwise act in ways that don't cause problems for the people around them, don't get noticed.

The trans people you see on the internet especially social media are usually attention seekers, usually some kind of narcissist, and many I think are not "actually trans" in the sense that they suffer gender dysphoria but otherwise are either autogynophiles who have a humiliation fetish or are otherwise using the trans identity as a mask to avoid dealing with other mental issues they might have.

IRL as well, most of the trans people I remember interacting with, belong to the later group because they are doing something memorable. Trans people who are otherwise normal I usually don't have any reason to remember interacting with them.

That said, you create the loophole that anyone who identifies as trans can use the restroom of their choice, then perverts will pretend to be trans to get into the restroom. duh.

You create the loophole that anyone who identifies as trans can play womens sports, then unscrupulous types that only care about winning but can't make it on the men's team will pretend to be trans to play on the women's team.

You create a financial incentive for for profit medical systems to identify more trans kids, they will identify more trans kids.

If you create the loophole that anyone who says they are trans are trans and you can't question them. Then you essentially create a carte blanch or any bad actor, pedophile, pervert, anyone at all to do bad things and hide behind the trans label. This in turn makes all trans people, even the innocent ones look bad, and creates lots of backlash which will get worse and worse the longer the underlying issues aren't dealt with.

I very much doubt Trump will do much of anything to change things in this regard either. But he will run on that platform since it wins him votes. Liz Cheney and the other republics are rightfully afraid that Trump represents a shift in the Republican party power base that will render them utterly impotent so they are allying with the Democrats who are also afraid of the same thing. Democratic party going forward will have to see a similar shift in their leadership and a cutting off of the "old guard" to see future relevance, or else some other resistance party will come along to answer the Trump administration outside of the Democratic party machine and render them irrelevant. So you'll see a shuffling I think of the political leadership and the names of those who are "important" going forward. But for the average person most of this has little to no real material impact on our lives. But the political class essentially has their careers pinned on one party or the other so they act like it is the end of the world because they lose their jobs until the next regime change.

The only winning move is not to play. I understand it is hard for some people to actually take that stand but it is the only way. These people are not engaging in good faith and you'll just be subjected to increasing amounts of BS.

If you are a woman in sports and you have to play against a man, refuse to play, go to the admin and give the ultimatum, man is out, or I am out. If they don't kick him out, you quit, refuse to compete, refuse to play. Go do something else.

It doesn't even need to be the majority of women, if only 20% did this consistently every time it would end the issue quickly. But even if you are the only one you should still do it. Why? Because the issue will only get worse if it isn't dealt with. Do you quit now when it is one man or do you quit later when it's 30% men? Or do you get forced out when you can't make the women's team at all when enough men realize the loophole and women's sports are totally dominated by trans women?

It may be hard but the only choice is to walk away.

The problem with most of the gender ideology is that it is almost impossible to define legally since it is all nonsense based on self-identification anyway. So how can you write laws about it? I said it back in the gay marriage debates, I am in favor of legalized gay marriage but if you try to impose it on places that don't want it and try to force things like serving wedding cakes it will create a blowback which has the potential to destroy all gains made. Bernie Sanders gave a nice scalding response to the party leadership about this election but he's on the fringes anyway at this point, plus he's an old white man you know.

I'm not sure the current Democratic party will manage a leadership coup to make it relevant again. This election they already lost some major backers and doners. They'll need their own equivalent of a Trump movement rallying around a new charismatic leader I think. Good opportunity for a third party to supplant them.

Nah reddit and most of the internet has long had a liberal bias. Comes with the territory of being an emergent technology. Most early adopters of new technology tend to not be "conservative" same with entrepreneurs starting them, less risk adverse, more open to say "novelty" than conservatives, but this doesn't exactly track to partisan interests though the partisan interests do their best to wrangle everyone they can into their camp.

Basically what happened with reddit is the liberal bias over time got entrenched by moderation following the internet trend of everything going to shit eventually. Nobody wants to bother moderating a site for free, anyone worth doing that job well is too busy doing actual productive shit, that just leaves it open to ideologues and petty authoritarian types, and they slowly impose their own ideology through moderation. Which kills any free discussion and happens slowly enough most people don't notice it, barring an incident or user rebellion.

Reddit just slowly tilts as all websites do into the more ideological extremes through these processes. Until it is more or less out of touch with the mainstream. You'll see similar process on the right going forward and across the next couple of decades the actual "facist" wings or whatever you want to call their more extreme elements will have the similar issue.

Much like how the LGBTQ movement needs to come to terms with the fact that most Americans don't actually give a shit about the more progressive side of that movement and will respond against it if they are forced to . The conservative reactionary response will have to come to a similar reckoning lest they swing the pendulum too far and create an opposing backlash. Essentially Americans don't want drag queens in their elementary schools doing drag performances. But Americans also don't want the religious right going in and shutting down the adults only drag clubs for public morality reasons. Conservatives have been bad at this in the past because just like the far left ideologues the hardline true believer wings are essentially all in on the ideology and can't fathom how anyone would make choices that aren't in line with their ideology and seek to make everyone follow their one true way. It's an evangelical line of thinking but not limited to religious types or any particular party. It's simply a reality of how ideologies work on the fringes. And how the fringes gain and lose power in political cycles.

As far as reddit is concerned it will continue its decline into obscurity. Younger people will just use something else. Again part of the cycle. MSNBC or Fox News Boomers are out of touch with the youth, and now, so are redditors.

Young people are leaning republican now because it seems anti-establishment. If the Republicans become the new establishment, then young people will lean the other way. Whether or not that means the modern democratic party or not depends on democrats ability to adapt to reality, and recently I don't have much faith in the party ability to win elections.

Trump is easy to beat if you just run a halfway decent candidate. The dems consistently pick terrible ones.

Consider Biden being pretty bad but still enough to win against Trump. And yet they keep picking the Hillary and Kamala types and keep loosing.

It's been a pretty common refrain in election gossip since the 2000 election at least. When the other guy wins cry foul. I'm already starting to see it for this one. People can't believe Trump won the popular vote and are making as the media likes to call it "baseless accusations" of cheating. Which is true the accusation is baseless if your only accusation is "I don't like the outcome therefore cheating".

Stupid Republicans did this after the 2020 election and while some of the specific accusations do ring true, most are baseless and I think many were out of touch with the fact that Biden indeed could legitimately win.

But they're following on the heels of 2016 Stupid Democrats crying about how Trump isn't really the president because more people voted for Hillary despite that just being a re-run of the 2000 election complaints.

And again 2008 you had a lot of stupid Repunlicans whining about black panther voter intimidation and birth certificate issues as reasons why Obama wasn't really the president.

Also the same refrain I sew on reddit of doomerism, the Democrats will never win again, Trump is going to declare himself dictator and run for a third term. Supreme Court will destroy democracy forever. All that, are all complaints I saw conservatives levy against Obama during his "reign".

I think it's inevitable as the response towards a push for legal recognition of so called "neo-genders".

Essentially the so called "neo-genders" function as self assessed personality types and don't have any strong objective definitions or means of determinance so they are of course not useful as a classification. Much in the same way you can't use "personality types" as a means of classification because while they "exist" its nearly impossible to define them or make an extensive list because the human "personality spectrum" as it were isn't so easily placed into boxes.

I see the same with the so called neo genders. There was a similar thing years ago with novel sexualities popping up. Heterosexuality, Homosexuality, and Bisexuality can be fairly easily defined on objective metrics of behavior. But when the pan-sexuals and the saphosexuals or whatever other types pop onto the field they are essentially just describing their "feelings" and as such they can't really be defined objectively. What is the difference between a pan-sexual and a bi-sexual? The pan sexual is attracted to "all genders" as opposed to just the two. But when it comes to sex I can objectively determine it through a physical examination. And I can objectively describe behaviors as homosexual or heterosexual when it comes to sexual activity. I can't determine a test that would identify someone as non-binary. Even if I can recognize the concept, it doesn't have any biological foundation and is essentially just a fashion trend.

You can't understand the darkness without being corrupted by the darkness and rendering yourself susceptible to it. You can resist the darkness by not understanding it or knowing it is.

Think about how astrology has an actual effect on people's lives? People change their behavior and make decisions based on the belief the stars control their lives. The stars in reality have such a low effect on the gravitational fields that you experience in your day to day life they might as well not exist, yet people still allow themselves to be controlled by them. To say that astrology "isn't real" is to only say that it has no scientific basis. But such a statement is meaningless when it comes to the supernatural as it does have "power" over people's lives in so far as people have convinced themselves it has power. Therefore it does despite the fact it does not.

Demons don't exist because they aren't real, yet every day some crazy person snaps and does something horrific because these demons that don't exist told them to do it. The scientific rational position is that they are crazy, and I agree with that, but the danger people don't understand is despite not being real you can listen to the demons and gain power while losing your own soul at any time if you allow yourself to succumb to the darkness. It's as real as you allow it to be real.

Trumps "protection" is he doesn't give a shit about it. The same way I'm protected against bad luck from black cats crossing my path because I don't give a shit. If I start giving a shit it has effects that are real but physically caused by me.
