OTHO, I'm also thinking that 25 years ago Brooklyn Center was a quiet little burb full of law abiding, civilized white people. Fast forward 25 years and it's a shithole overrun with blacks, most of whom can't get out bed in the morning and make it to the bathroom without committing a felony along the way. They all drive cars with expired tags, have no insurance and have warrants out for their arrest. Any interaction you have with them is more likely to go sideways than not. This right here is the reason nobody should ever work for a municipal or any other local governmental entity when there's a shithole city within 100 miles of them. The rot is headed your way, you will at some point have to decide to leave and forfeit all the accrued pension benefits you have earned or just stiff it out until you are able to retire and GTFO. My sister learned this lesson the hard way and opted to stiff it out until she could take early retirement and GTFO. Something satisfying about watching someone darwin out like this. I used to live in a college town and about two a week got hit by walking out into traffic while looking down at their phone. Amazingly only about 1-2 per year died that way, traffic was usually moving pretty slow.

If it was an iphone it probably still works. A guy I know ran over one with a forklift and what was left of it still powered up.

I hate jaywalkers for this reason. They can just pop out of places you don't expect them to come from, all because they don't want to go to the crosswalk.

They usually come our from behind a van or from between two cars and literally appear right in front of you like magic. I used to live in a college town and about 2 students a week got run over by walking right out into traffic in the middle of a block while staring down at their phones, oblivious to oncoming vehicles. about 1-2/year died that way.
