In this video, a student can be seen highly concentrating on his phone right in the middle of the path where vehicles are. A van begins reversing and doesn't see the kid who's directly behind the van. The kid gets knocked down by the reversing van before getting crushed by the wheels.

Personal opinion, never cover your ears in public especially when you're in the middle of a place where vehicles move. Also, don't do whatever with your phone while you're not in a safe area. It's easy to get crushed and your phone activities can wait.

Something satisfying about watching someone darwin out like this. I used to live in a college town and about two a week got hit by walking out into traffic while looking down at their phone. Amazingly only about 1-2 per year died that way, traffic was usually moving pretty slow.

If it was an iphone it probably still works. A guy I know ran over one with a forklift and what was left of it still powered up.
