I'm a big advocate of sports. Doesn't have to be organized sports leagues. Try to get her to do something with you. Could be trail running, biking, etc. Your involvement will probably need to be ongoing, not a one time drop-in w the talk.

I'm a very GNC lesbian, and I believe one of the reasons that the gender stuff never resonated w me is that I've always been into organized sports leagues and informal stuff like running, frisbee, climbing trees, anything really. I've always been in touch w my body, liked my body, appreciated what my body could do.

Obama nominated Merrick Garland on March 16th, 2016, and the republicans wanted to wait for the election in November. We are on the cusp of the election this time around. I don't think there's much excuse to not wait for the election.

EDIT: I'm sure we will soon hear the argument from the republicans on why a nominee should be voted on immediately.

I don't love that stuff, but it's reality. If every woman who didn't love their period and breasts transitioned, there'd be A LOT more trans men.

I'm going to go in a different direction- (although I agree with all the other comments) What if the gay men did accept her? What if they wanted to have anal sex with her? Get oral sex from her? But not in a sweet, romantic way- but more in that back-room-of-the-gay-bar type way. What would she have done then? Probably be just as upset, in a different way.

If it was me ... Since this is a work situation, I'd steer clear of anything that is going to upset her. You can't separate work from your relationship with her. I used to frequent r/atheism back in the old days (last week). Trans issues were brought up a few times and I was astounded by how completely onboard they were with the TRA rhetoric. I think many of them associated any trans bias with conservative christian values and it was therefore denounced.

I really think this acceptance is a hangover from gay rights being legislated so spectacularly. Young people now grew up during that period and saw how positive gay marriage has been in the sense that, yes, gay people are just regular people living their lives.

I've had this opinion for years now. I hate to say it, but at this point, I believe I'd give back some gay rights to have a do over on all the trans stuff.

The other reason for the relative quickness of trans acceptance (and even promotion?) is the internet/social media. Opinions and information can move around at a lightening pace. Back when I came out and started getting involved with some issues, just finding other gay people was a monumental task if you didn't know where to look.
