this bitcoin private key(256 zeroes and ones) then can be converted mathematically to a bitcoin address which is given to someone when receiving bitcoin from another party.

usually these private keys are managed by an online wallet service, such as coinbase, if i understand correctly...

but, couldnt you just generate a random private key and convert it to an address and then move some coin to that random address for a private stash of coin?

i would be responsible for holding the private key in secret, and i would be responsible for using the bitcoin core to move said coins when i am ready to do so.

my point is that if some coin were held in an address for which i randomly generated the private key for it, if someone hacks coinbase they would not be able to get my private key, and authorities would not even be aware of my possession of said coins and therefore would not be able to seize it for any reason.
