i always put black electrical tape over the cameras on my android cellphone.. but, do you know what i suspect? couldnt there also be a camera embedded into the screen that we dont even know about?

or maybe the screen also doubles as a camera? how ya gonna cover that with black tape?

just a hint, i know it sounds a bit paranoid but you should make your family aware that when they just sit their phone on the table that someone could be watching you thru the cameras.. how would you feel if you were fkng your significant other and some weirdo was watching? it is a good idea to put your phone somewhere where it can not watch or hear what you say.

also, have you ever been speaking about something and then all of a sudden you start seeing advertisements for that thing? like if i was to sit here(as a male) and just repeatedly speak the word tampon, i might start seeing tampon advertisements.

i have for a while suspected that these phones listen to us and they use that to serve up ads and to also profile you.

it is not conspiracy stuff to think that someone is watching you and/or listening to you thru your cell phone.

Why would they be watching you when literally every teen and supermodel is taking a shit while on their phone. And that's before they start sexting.

I think I'm weird for not doing either of these things

Yeah, you're pretty weird. But at least you aren't pretty.

i take my phone to the restroom, lol.. and that is why i keep electrical tape over the cameras.. otherwise, you would be peeping.

When you fly they still scan your naked body into their system.

what if i went thru the scanner naked? would they notice?

It was called 'Total Information Awareness' long ago, though Snowden has revealed its name (or should I say alias?) has changed many times since.

No matter how boring you think you are, or how innocuous you claim to be, you are nowhere near boring nor innocuous enough for BigBro to ignore you. Today everyone is considered a 'person of interest'. EVERYONE!

I think, you're seriously underestimating what modern technology is capable of. If you want privacy, you have to work on legalizing anti-surveillance market.

Or live in an empty room with thick walls. Very thick. They can still infect you with devices, but they'll have to wait for you to leave to check them. And data storage can't be this small. Yet. Imagine a cloud of decentralized data storage drones floating in you.

Or live in an empty room with thick walls.

about 25 years ago, i was kept in a padded cell while stripped naked for about two months.. i ate with my hands and there was a small opening in the floor about 4" x 6" with a grating over it that served as my restroom.

they wouldnt let me have my phone in there... they wouldnt even let me have a plastic spoon.

come to think of it, i have been locked up in a padded cell while naked on at least one other time.. i spent almost four months in that one.

stripped naked in a very cold hard rubber cell.

about the only thing that you can do in there is meditate.

i have a standing agreement with the police.. if i stop stealing from banks, they will stop putting me in the box.

i can live with that.

Phones are pretty easy to root compared to hard electronics. Also pockets don't get the greatest video, as such I find it unlikely that phones have useful data outside of your gps coordinates and all the photos and videos you take.

Just make sure those are innocuous, or that you're offline and you strip those files from your phone before you take it back online.

Google phones compile a list of all your actions like, walk, open door, cough, walk on snow, open car door, enter vehicle, start car, turn on radio, begin driving etc and then the compressed preprocessed data can be sent back to the mothership very easily. This can then be stored and used to better control you.

They know your inclinations and behaviors better than you do.

Partially correct... we can actually use this to our advantage. Don't have your phone with you when you're doing operational things, but take your phone with you when you're not operating. Thus they build an innocuous profile on you.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they do a remote screenshot of whatever you’re looking at whenever they want. I have buddies who were in the army who could literally see and listen in on the enemy’s cell phone use.

[–]Vagina7 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

yes, an intruder that is in my computer can definitely take screenshots..

What are you getting at?

[–]Vagina7 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

not sure i know what you mean.. you said that you wouldnt be surprised if they could do a remote screenshot and i was just agreeing.

No shit.

Better get rid of it so all they will have is my phone, my computer, my car, satellites...

car

Never buy one with built in mobile connectivity

If advertisers are accessing the data, it's safe to say government agencies do.

Our smart phones have been listening to our conversations for years, and we've gone from acting like that's a conspiracy to pretty much everyone agrees they do it, without ever seeing any big press release that they're starting to. Closest we got was one person claiming it was happening, facebook denying it, then having to admit they were doing so, just not in the US. Maybe they've talked about it since, but I don't remember anyone in the media talking about it. Rather, people at large shifted to accepting and seeing for themselves that they're doing it.

Not just your smart-TV, but all your smart appliances are being data-mined. You have invited many 'eyes' and 'ears' into your life, because they are oh-so-convenient, oblivious to the fact that each one is watching or listening...and snitching! Smart TV. Alexa. Google Home and Google Nest Hub. Ring Always Home Cam and Amazon One. XBox. Cell phones. The list goes on, with new ones added regularly.
