It wasn't that she was infected with covid 19 or that her husband and daughter contracted it from her. It was because the media and the governments have exacerbated her mental state to total fear.

This is insane. Mainstream media should be kept on lockdown in crisis. If closing non-essential businesses is allowed, closing harmful organizations should be fine too.

Japanese culture probably has a lot to do with it. If you're on a train there and your phone rings you cover your mouth with a cloth, they all do it, so as not to offend others.

Yeah, they are a strange lot, I don't think there is another culture on the planet that even comes close. They are so dedicated, and clever too! Imagine where they would be now if they hadn't been bombed back to the stone-age in WWII? Ahhhh, those were the days! Imagine being part of a 1000 bomber raid dropping incendiaries on Tokyo? Or better yet, the bombardier of the Enola Gay. Just one little push of a button and you release a weapon that will incinerate hundreds of thousands of people in an eyeblink. Brrrrrr, I get shivers just thinking about it.

There's a theory that the Japanese purposely use the myth of their weirdness so they can maintain their cultural integrity against the forces or globalisation when in truth every country has similar unique quirks but they don't promote them.

Yet the reality is most Japanese men aren't getting laid. The population is decreasing. And it's partly this kind of thing which is a big turn off. No women wants to nurse an insecure man who has to target children because his fear of relationships is so great.

Yes I have read about that transition. I wonder what happened to them? Certainly some, the criminal element, have balls still but the rest?

Do you have first hand knowledge of this 199? I found an article on it that puts forward some reasoning on the issue but it's always good to hear on-the-ground observations. Some years back I shared house with a guy who had lived there for 10 years after marrying a japanese woman. At the time I didn't think to probe him on the matter but I find it fascinating now. I wonder if it was externally imposed social engineering so to speak, or just a confluence of negative events as this article puts forth?
