I’m so tired of the normalization of the word “queer” by MaxDefacto in LGBDropTheT

I feel exactly the same. Who decided that’s what we want to be called? I am a lesbian. Not a queer.

Went through this trans guys Twitter feed. “He” says he is LITERALLY a gay man so “he” can use the f-word. One of their favorite words that they don’t understand the definition of is “literally.”

For transgender day, I went through all my Twitter followers (350 or so) and deleted every single one that had pronouns in their bio. That’s how I celebrated!

I’m also sick of the fact that they decided we’re now all “queer.” When I dared ask why this label is applied to gays and lesbians I was told “because we’re a young generation and we made that decision.” Off topic: why does every single transgender person have a manga image as their pic on Twitter? If they’re so proud of their identities, why not show your face?

Today there was an article in WaPo about the violence that gay and big people in Nigeria face. The writer used the word queer throughout the article. I’m seeing the word queer used as an umbrella term to describe all gay people lately. When did this become acceptable? Who decided this was what we wanted to be called? I’m old enough to still feel the pain of being called this when I was just a kid.

I guarantee that’s a young woman commenting. So many women start their opinions with “I’m sorry, but...” I’ve seen it a million times. Women have been conditioned since birth to not state their opinions.

It’s kind of embarrassing, because it seems my IQ has dropped 20 points, but I found myself watching 90 Day Fiancé like a crack addict. Then I joined the r/90dayfiance sub, and saw a really disturbing pattern. About 1x per week, there’s a post comparing unattractive men to lesbians. I went partially through the history of the sub and found 8 instances of this until I got bored. I had commented on a few of the posts saying it was insulting and homophobic. Got downvoted all to hell by people telling me to get a sense of humor. Last week, after seeing another post, I messaged the mods and told them how I felt, very calmly telling them that if this were any other group that experienced bigotry, it wouldn’t be allowed. Again, they said, but it’s FUNNY! So I replied saying, what if I said so and so’s character looked like a trans man. They replied, oh I see what you are, a TERF! I said, no, I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy. I was them immediately permanently banned.

So true. More than 400 women disguised themselves as men and fought in the Union and Confederate armies during the Civil War. I have some awareness of this because a friend is writing a book about it. They HAD to dress as men, and many joined because they were single women with no family and needed the money.

Your so right. I tied to link to a NYT article today about how much lesbians ( which the Times chose to label as queers) fought for women’s right to vote. (I didn’t title it correctly —my fault) Next trans lesbians will insist they were the ones that won women’s right to vote.

I was still n the Reddit sub r/women. Several of the (obviously straight women) were commenting on how horrible the LGB drop the T sub was and they were so happy we were banned. All I could think is that they have zero solidarity with lesbians and are 100% pro trans. I don’t even know how we can help educate them without being call transphobic anymore. I feel like lesbians have been left all alone in this fight. I’m so thankful for women like J.K. Rowling having the guts to be truly pro-women.

Terf is nothing but a slur. I guess that’s why they got banned. I think that Terf has become the new stand-in for what they really want to call women (pardon the language) —“bitch” or “cunt.”

TERF is a slur needs it’s own web page too. They were documenting the trans hatred toward women pretty thoroughly. Here’s a link to some of the violent and misogynistic crap being thrown at women, warning, it’s disgusting and may be triggering if you are a rape survivor.

Reddit gets rid of this sub, but leaves subs up that have tons of pornography and straight up hate for women, like the sub “misogyny fetish? Smh.
