I keep mentioning that I have a mental disorder, but I feel like it equates to having a disorder such as gender dysphoria somewhat. During certain times I struggle with mirrors and looking at myself and I know of many people with my condition or similar do as well. But are we asking to shift the world around us to accomodate us? NO. Because in the end, it does more harm than good. Everyone that is not neurotypical or different from the norm should respect social conventions, especifically the ones that are harmless such as having mirrors in public places!
My goal is to function as a member of society. I acknowledge my struggles, I am open about it but I strive to heal and not harm the people around me just because of my internal issues.
I think this is so important to understand, and the reason why I respect people with gender dysphoria who are self-aware adults just trying to live their life. They need help, not this toxic self indulgent bullshit.

PS: Don't get me fucking started on non-binary shit

I think NBs piss me off more than trans people. I've met fairly decent trans people in my life, they have their issues but I guess they did what they could with what they had. I've met the toxic types as well. But "enbys", I still struggle to understand what the hell it means besides man with skirt or woman with short hair. And I haven't met a single one who wasn't an entitled self-absorbed prick.
Anyway, welcome to this sub. I think it's great, people here have different opinions and it's possible to have civilised discussions which is rare these days.

Edit: Also, I'd argue non-binary is equally or more harmful to gender stereotypes than transgenderism.

How do you define yourself as a person? by QueenOfTheNorth in LGBDropTheT

[–]milknciggies 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is a tough one. I have a personality disorder which I struggle with every day and affects my life significantly. I am open to discuss my mental issues with people and participate in mental health spaces. However, I would HATE to be one of those people who put their long list of mental ailments, pronouns, diet preferences and whatnot as if it was all that there is to them as a person.
As a bisexual, I feel more privileged than gays or lesbians as I feel I haven't experienced many inconvieniences in my life due to my sexuality, other than the occasional biphobia from straight people as well as within the LGBT community and perhaps a few comments from randoms when I've been out with some of my gilfriends in public.
I'm not obsessed with my sexuality, but I went through a whole process to discover myself and I try to be more out and proud these days as I feel bisexual erasure is still prevalent. You see, I was born into a very progressive family so it was never expected of me to be heterosexual or fit into gender roles (which is how I'd like to raise my children) so I never thought about my sexuality that much. I only knew I liked girls very early on in life and it was a normal thing for me. When I became a teenager and got access to the internet I started worrying myself about having a label. Before that point, I had crushes and semi sexual experiences with both boys and girls and for some reason I thought bisexuality wasn't an option? So I came to the conclusion that I was a lesbian, and I was attracted to some boys due to societal pressure or whatever. So I came to my family as lesbian and identified as such for a couple of years.
It was a very confusing time, because I shut down my feelings towards boys instead of following my heart. I guess it was because I always felt a lot sexual attraction to women by default then romantic attraction, and with guys it's the opposite. I feel the romantic attraction first and then experience sexual arousal. I guess what the kids these days would call being demisexual or whatever.
Anyway, I'm more aware of my identity these days because I spent a big chunk of my life being confused and feeling like I was lying to myself when I was with the same or the opposite sex and I bet it's what a lot of bis go through as well.
I rambled a little bit so I apologise. Like I said I have a personality disorder and it makes it difficult to me to know who I am most of the time, I even have trouble feeling like a real person sometimes. I think what's most relevant in my life are my core beliefs and values. I'm an atheist, I am politically centre-left, I believe in creating strong family (even chosen family) and friend relationships. Caring for your people. Embracing one's culture while respecting others. Being open to learn and better yourself. As for interests, I don't think they define your personality although it leads you to find people akin to you which I think could be a positive thing.

Omg, I was going to share this video cause it irritated me so much. Notice how he can't refute anything, instead he just laughs and cringes at the people in the video and yells "transphobia!". And when talking about if he would date a trans person, he makes a joke and avoids answering. I can guarantee he wouldn't, no matter his sexuality. Many of the people who critisize supersexualities pretend like they would date a trans person without a second thought. They've either been brainwashed or are knowingly pandering to the TRA audience.

There's no way they wouldn't be able to tell. I saw this post a trans woman made, saying she went to a gynecologist and they said "I wouldn't have guessed you were trans!", as to imply that they couldn't tell apart her neovagina from a real one. If the story was true at all, the doctor probably said it before even inspecting her and she took it to twitter or whatever as proof that even doctors can't tell!.
I also saw this other trans woman tiktok, who claimed to have never disclosed she was trans to sexual partners (and encouraged people to do the same) and said no one was able to tell. She was very femenine looking, and at first glance I can say I wouldn't have thought it was a trans. One thing is the makeup, hair, voice training, fake titties, etc but a neovagina could NEVER fool anyone. That is pure delusion that every passing trans female propagates to others. I think they start lying to themselves and others so much to get the validation they're so desperate for that they become completely delusional about reality.

I was mostly a lurker in several subreddits that got banned. And I lurk subs that made me cringe too but I don't interact much really because I some people I know in real life might know my account, and also I'm just super paranoid of people going through my history and finding personal information. I'm mostly active in specific communities that are non political like games, languages, music, mental health, etc. I guess I could always make an alt account, but I can't be bothered since I'll probably get banned anyway.

People are desperate to have a unique identity to fill the void in their lives, because there's nothing else going on for them. It's good to know yourself and be proud of who you are, but making your life revolve around 1 thing is unhealthy I feel like.

I was one, I guess. I felt pressured because if I like men and I like women, then what's wrong with being with a "girl with a dick" or a "man with a pussy"? Best of both worlds, right??
So when asked I used to respond that I would be open to the idea, and the reaction was that well duh, of course if you like both... But when I realised I am not attracted to trans individuals in the slightest, people just couldn't wrap their head around it. And I did feel kinda guilty and confused for a while.
I mean, if I like both separately, what's wrong with having both at the same time? Well, I don't need to justify my preferences to anyone but the way I feel about it (putting aside ideology) is that there's something that makes my brain hurt when I think about a "woman" with male genitals and viceversa. It's some sort of uncanny valley feeling that I find quite unpleasant.
Also, during this time of "questioning" I became curious about post-op genitals so I started googling images, videos and read about it and was completely horrified. Those neo-genitals were nothing like what the TRAs and woke allies would lead me to believe. That they are just like the real thing.
So in the end, I decided that post-op trans people were off the table, no matter how "open-minded" I wanted to be, and shortly after realised that trans people in general weren't appealing to me.
Luckily, I was never directly pressured or in any uncomfortable situations that would've led me to have sex with a trans person.

What has your experience with transpeople in real life been like? by SerpensInferna in LGBDropTheT

Surprisingly, I know 2 trans people who I have respect for, although I was never super close to them.
One MtF, who used to be my art teacher. Quiet person, quite talented and all in all normal. A FtM who I met pre transition, lost touch with for some time, then reconnected via social media when he messaged me to let me know he had transitioned. Also very normal. Both the kind that didn't want to move the world around them to accomodate them, but more so looking to blend in, have normal jobs, etc.
Another FtM I met, who was transitioning and then killed herself. She had huge drug problems and one day overdosed. I did not know her too well either.
And lastly, my SiL. Hasn't quite come out yet, but it's sort of a open secret. This person I have the most interaction with on a daily basis and I absolutely despise her. Spoiled, deranged, vile person whose online persona shows nothing of what she's truly like. I seriously believe she wants to come out as trans for the immunity it would give her, instead of seeking self improvement and mental help. She'd be excused of her behaviour and only become worse and worse.
Luckily I haven't been too much in direct contact with the dreadful people I see online, probably because I'm a bit of a hermit and don't go out much. I've stopped going to LGBT spaces a long time ago, as I feel the scene completely changed since I was young.

"Gender confirmation surgery" usually does NOT mean genital surgery. Only 5-10% of TIMs in the US get genital surgeries. Hence, "girl dick." by MarkTwainiac in GenderCritical

I can't imagine anyone being happy after getting "bottom surgery", having seen the results of these procedures. It's just insane. I'd rather these types of surgeries were not promoted at all. Plastic surgeons who perform these don't have a conscience.

I've met these types during my tumblr days. I knew a few girls who were into shipping that are now trans or nb. I dated this girl who now identifies as a male/nb, she's just the same but with short hair and masculine clothes. Also seems very inmature, like she never grew out of her teen years.
Edit: I was never into shipping myself, but contact with that side of tumblr was inevitable when you shared similar interests. I didn't think too much of it at the time but looking back it was kind of weird considering a lot of the ships involved real people.
