It's ironic that russian social media sites are nowadays like pillars of free speech compared to Reddit and other Western social media. You know you fucked up as democracy when even shithole autocracies don't persecute wrongthink as hard as you do.

In Russia you are officially fined for critiquing authorities and "Russian social media sites" will censor you just as happily as Reddit. May be even more so because "freedom of speech" concept isn't a big thing there (as in they don't have Constitution-thumpers everywhere). At least in USA government and mainstream media are at odds right now.

How? They literally read CIA scripts.

Yeh i don't think he said what he meant.

I mean he couldn't have said anything more untrue. The media is literally spewing leftist or government media propaganda.

Even FNC which the tools glorify as a bastion of "right wing" or "conservative" talking points, are essentially controlled opposition. Most of their talking points and mouthpiece opinions are far to the left of where Obama was years ago.

Throughout history, all the great leaders who accomplished great things for and with their nations, were all more or less dictators. Representative democracy is simply a system that ensures the status quo. As such, you can call Putin what you like, a ruthless thug, a murderer, whatever. But he has a vision for his country, and he is leading his nation to that vision. Yes, ruthlessly. But I feel he is doing A LOT OF GOOD for Russia. About time that nation got a decent leader, too.

Name even an achiever in modern politics and I will show you a ruthless criminal. It can't be avoided: Politics is a nest of vipers. The only way to survive and endure is to strike first.

That's by design. The NEW WORLD ORDER isn't unilateralism, it is Multilateralism where Israeli aligns itself with Russia and China. Neocon Alexander Joffe stated that for world government to be achieved America would have to fall.

I'm from a formerly communist, eastern bloc country. I was a little kid when the revolution happened, but my mom lived in the regime for most of her life, and when I was little she always kept telling me to keep my mouth shut and to not bring attention to myself - I can be pretty opinionated at times, and I wasn't afraid to say what I thought. I always thought that was just an artifact of her upbringing, and it's not necessary nowadays - it's a free country, you can say your opinion freely, right?

Then I started working for an American corporation and now I understand exactly what she meant.

This has been EXACTLY my experience too, down to the smallest detail. Corporate life is cushy and comfortable as long as you don't deviate from the script.

My grandpa was literally "canceled" by the Party, all his goods and property were confiscated, and he was banned from entering any university in the country. Now I realize I could be in the same situation and I'm scared that this censhorship/canceling shit will come here too and history will repeat itself.

Saying things ( or not ) to fit in is something i relate to strongly at my office.

I keep wondering if some of my coworkers are also experiencing the same thing i am. I made the mistake once of correcting someone on something the US president had said or in this case had not said.

After that some coworkers have warned me that i am being targeted as a Trump supporter and a possible racist/misogynist.

    [–]Aureus 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's pretty messed up that simply stating the truth (or correcting a falsehood) can get you "targeted".

I do think the main reason for this stuff in universities is to keep the smart, upwardly mobile working class kids out so the dumb rich kids can keep their easy but powerful jobs in the media, charities, etc, without any serious competition.

No kid who hasn't grown up in the polite classes is ever going to get all this crazy crap right consistently, not least of all because it changes every week. Also those minorities the rich claim to love are definitely going to be excluded for wrongthink, no Muslim kid is going to put up with a non binary man claiming he should be allowed in the women's changing rooms.

So they get cancelled, socially excluded and drop out of their own accord and all the rich kids can claim ignorance as to why and create a job for themselves in a charity to enable more poor and minority kids (not asians) to go to uni.

    [–]AFutureConcern 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

It's a great excuse to purge right-wing dissidents from universities. Same with calls for "diversity" - it's a way of biasing the university towards a leftist agenda. The people discriminated against the most are lower-to-middle class white people, and those that benefit are the upper classes and lower-class blacks and Hispanics.

    [–]jet199 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

I actually think lower class blacks and other minorities will also be shut out. They aren't going to agree up is down for very long either, especially as they've seen real world problems rather than thinking dying their hair blue makes them an oppressed minority. Lots of black people calling out BLM and critical theory at the moment. They just get told they're not really black anymore when they step out of line.

    [–]AFutureConcern 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I actually think lower class blacks and other minorities will also be shut out.

All these groups that advocate for wealth redistribution in their direction are really stupid and short-sighted. Blacks in the US have a median income that is way higher than the world average. The logical conclusion of the leftist ideology they support is open-borders globalism and worldwide wealth redistribution. That means taking money away from privileged US blacks and giving it to Africans. They really don't know how good they have it.

    [–]AFutureConcern 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Lots of black people calling out BLM and critical theory at the moment. They just get told they're not really black anymore when they step out of line.

Well, according to critical theory, they aren't black the moment they step out of line. "Black" is a political identity group to critical race theorists, so for example "Black Lives Matter" doesn't refer to right-wingers with black skin. The moment you adopt right-wing ideas as a black man, you become "complicit in whiteness" and a "white supremacist".

    [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Jews are the ones leading all of this cancer in the Unis. Majority of "whites" in universities are in fact jewish. Although I know jews dont consider themselves white and they arent. They are more related to Arabs and Levantines than Europeans.

Also those minorities the rich claim to love are definitely going to be excluded for wrongthink, no Muslim kid is going to put up with a non binary man claiming he should be allowed in the women's changing rooms.

Exactly, if you think the corporations and Bankers sending money to BLM ACTUALLY care about these minorities, you're dead wrong.

All they care about is profit margin. People are totally dispensable to the corporation and its shareholders.

Communism? I think we are passed this. Probably a half-baked welfare state run by a technocratic corportocracy with zero regulations for the big corporations.

Oh no. You are WAAAAY too optimistic. In my view it's a totalitarian communist world government with its seat in Israel where, if you look at a patent of Bill Gates', people will be chipped with the mark of the beast cryptocurrency-mining, biometric-reading implant. This thing will tell them more than what any cellphone ever could: it will allow monitoring of EXACTLY WHAT you are DOING, FEELING AND THINKING at the moment. And so it will not even be possible to hide thoughtcrime anymore. And for the 5 seconds you spend blowing your nose at work, the chip didn't mine the cryptocurrency that is your slave wage.

Welcome to a brave new world of 1984, 50 years late and 50 times more demented.

    [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Totalitarian communism would be better than what they're doing here. The Cold War was an A/B test between two strains of Jewish materialism. Because Stalin ended up basically turning that into fascism anyway, the Jews went all in on libertarianism. There's no pretense of accountability with private companies, and without an oppressive state to keep oligarchs under control, you end up with an even greater tyranny.

    [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Well actually, if you look at direct democracies, they have a very good balance of capitalism and socialism (these work hand in hand and are indissociable) and no tyranny from either the corporations nor the state. It's a most excellent system, which is why Americans are brainwashed into thinking their two-party system for representative democracy is the single best system ever, and also into believing that the word "socialism" means "communism" while in fact, it's Marx and Lenin who said that. It's freaking COMMUNIST PROPAGANDA and not true at all.

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

By "direct democracies," do you mean the Nordic social democracies? They're nice because they're full of Nordic people (for now). But when a referendum goes against the elite agenda, it simply gets overruled. Voting is a feel-good measure at best, so you can pat yourself on the back as oligarchs get everything they wanted anyway. Did the Swedes vote to get flooded with Sub-Saharan "refugees"? No, it's just that the Bonnier family that owns the Swedish media wants to see these Northern Europeans wiped from the earth.

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No, I mean first and foremost Switzerland. Lybia used to have such a system as well, but that's all gone now.

There must be other nations with direct democracy but Switzerland is the best example I know of.

A very myopic analogy. The USSR abhorred NEETs and sent them to labor camps. The West empowered NEETs to regulate speech and uses them to funnel away the working class's money.

    "but both punished wrongthink"

Every regime that's ever existed punished wrongthink.

freedom of speech is an illusion

This is something I've been thinking a lot about lately.

We tend to define freedom of speech in a framework of authoritarianism vs. lack of authority. The authoritarian society censors, and the free society lacks the authority to censor. But this deeply wrong. All free speech is backed up by authoritarianism. It's just that some authorities are more lenient than others.

The U.S. has been the most lenient authority in the history of the world, and because of this leniency, we have seen the growth of the strong authoritarianism that is cancel culture. Cancel culture mocks the very idea of free speech. It celebrates the mob. It revels in your fear to speak openly. It plays endless wordgames, especially with violence. It calls its violence speech and your speech, violence. And even silence itself it calls violence.

And this cancel culture is ascending into higher and higher levels of our society. It is on the verge of attaining government power at this moment.

So is free speech just a momentarily delusion? Are we really, in the end, simply arguing about different regimes of authoritarian censorship?

    [–]magnora7 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The US system is actually very authoritarian. And the cancel culture is a feature of that system, not a bug. This cancel culture is just an extension of the existing US authoritarian power structure, which is one of the most massive in world history.

The real cultures rising up against these authoritarian systems are being censored more than ever. Just look at reddit.

    [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It looks like we need to start a reactionary movement to counter all of this SJW from gaining power in our society. Mainly we need to push out jewish influence from the country if we want to stop any of this shit at all...

    [–]nolivesmatter 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

The whole privilege and power indoctrination of the left is straight out of the Communist playbook. Read Karl Marx and you will see were we are now.

    [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Yep, as Jordan B. Peterson call it, "Neo-Marxism": defining everything as a power struggle between groups.

    [–]BreedersAreScum 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Putting the prefix "neo" before something is a scare tactic.

    [–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

It most certainly is not. Marxism is about the idea that the socioeconomic life of nations and the world can be looked at through the lens of CLASS conflict: very rich vs upper vs middle vs lower. Neo-Marxism uses a similar template, but it's "my group" vs "the other groups" such as "transgenders VS cis genders", "LGBTQ+ vs straights", "liberals vs conservatives", "atheists vs religious", and so on. It is a new twist on the Marxist idea and truly deserves its NEO-Marxist moniker.

    [–]BreedersAreScum 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Marx was just another oppressor class piece of shit by his own standards.

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You oversimplify things greatly. Marx was either "wrong" or, my opinion, an evil, manipulative liar. And undoubtedly a thoroughly hateful individual. He hated the rich much more than he ever cared for the "working class". As such, he certainly was a destroyer, but not exactly an oppressor. I just don't see where that angle might be true.

    [–]Scrubjay 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I can't wait until psychiatry / psychology begin listing not conforming to the party line as one of various defined and documented "mental illnesses" that need forcible "treatment", just like in the USSR.

    [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

People increasingly don't even pretend there is free speech anymore.

Every liberal I've debated on the topic just says "say what you want, you won't be arrested, but suck up the CONSEQUENCES (deplatforming, fired from job, kicked out of college, murdered by non-whites etc".

It's an utterly pointless and bullshit concept.

    [–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No, no.... Don't you see? You HAVE free speech... So long as you don't USE it.
