It wasn't top-down. It was the ordinary citizens who made us that way.

Just read any news article where they haven't disabled comments. You'll get a story like "Man arrested for abandoning car in the middle of the road" and people will be like "THROW THE BOOK AT HIM! LOCK HIM UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY! WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT!"

Our politicians quickly realized they couldn't get elected unless they were "tough on crime," and "tough on crime" means "piss anyone off in any way and you'll spend the rest of your life behind bars." And no one will have any sympathy for you.

I don’t hate nonwhites but they do need to drag their own countries out of “shithole status” and go live there. You can’t have me believe that you are as great as the Jews advertise you to be when you can’t even wipe your own asses and feed yourselves. You can’t stand to live among yourselves, so why should anyone else?

There are plenty of non-white countries out there doing well, like Japan or South Korea. And there are plenty of "shithole" white countries too, like pretty much all of east Europe. Oh, and Russia; they count as white, too. I'm not going to shit on poor people for being poor, since I grew up poor too, but I do agree with conservatives on the illegal immigration problem. Regardless, everything you said isn't Christian at all, in the slightest. Again; I don't care, just pointing it out.

As far as abortion goes, a great alternative to abortion would be to have a few standards before brandishing your roast beef like a broadsword. Having sex is her choice and I can’t stop individuals from doing it, but vet the guy for some degree of morals and ability to raise and support a child in the long term first.

I agree, but if stupid people were to be vetted before being allowed to fuck, then 95% of humanity wouldn't exist, including almost everyone on this site. I'm for abortion 100% because the world is overpopulated as it is (not that I'm on some WEF shit) and most of the existing people already in it can barely survive. We don't need another billion imagination babies being brought into it, birthed by shitty parents too reckless to use protection in the bedroom, and raised by the state. It's also ironic that most pro-life conservatives are against welfare, as if these imagination babies can magically be raised on food and diapers falling out of the sky. And they also tend to be pro-second and will happily shoot a mailman in the face for "stepping onto his property without permission" cause "ma' castle doctrine," but then want to act like they give a shit about an embryo at six weeks, when they don't even give enough of a shit about actual existing babies to be willing to pay an extra 5 cents a month for the welfare state. (Most don't even give a shit about their own existing neighbors, let alone imagination babies.)

Not that I agree with the welfare state or against the second amendment. I'm just saying, these people can't have it both ways. Can't pretend to give a shit about imaginary babies that aren't even actual babies yet (just like pizza dough isn't an actual cheese pizza yet and chicken eggs aren't hot wings) while also willing to shoot any stranger in the face cause "guns" and see actual living babies starve to death cause "Fuck 'em! Ain't my problem." But then they want to reach their hands in another woman's pussy and say abortion should be outlawed.

And I don't give a shit what someone thinks PERSONALLY about abortion. I'm just saying, stupid unfit people fucking and bringing children into the world is how the world got to be so fucked up right now, to begin with. You think most woke idiots and they/thems actually had decent caring parents? I 100% agree IF we could stop idiots from reproducing, I'd be all on-board for that. But that ain't gonna happen in this reality. The next best thing is to stop them from ruining people's lives by being unfit parents and bringing future serial killers, rapists, and transgenders into the world.

So yeah, I see no logical arguments against abortion; the world is fucked as it is already, and using some retarded logic of "it has a heartbeat, therefore it is sacred life" doesn't hold water when they'll shoot a man in the face for delivering their Amazon package without asking first. Conservatives fucking LOVE murder, and you can't "murder" something that isn't even born yet. That sounds like woke logic more than anything.

Again, pro-life is the most retarded fucking shit on the planet. You'd think it'd be a Progressive stance, especially since they're the ones who're usually vegan and pretend to give a shit about people they don't actually give a shit about, but like I said, conservatives are sometimes no smarter than Progressives. Still generally smarter though, cause the bar is really that low.

Statistically, the vast majority of abortions are because she’s broke, her partner is a retard, or she has too many kids already. Most of them are shuffling papers for 45K or less per year, while they dump their kids off at the free government babysitter to be exposed to prison-quality food.

And yet, these are the people you want raising children and creating the next generation of human beings?

I’m not overly religious, but if you claim to be part of a religion that already has instructions, you should at least acknowledge that they exist. Especially since said instructions are already written down and available for free and you can pick them up at your convenience at a number of locations. If someone chides me for having premarital sex using the scripture, I’m going to at least admit that I am a sinner.

Yeah, that's like 99% of Western-world Christians, nowadays. None of them should be having pre-martial sex, getting tattoos, or calling their fellow man "niggers." Yet, here we are. Even I abide more by "hate the sin, not the sinner" than most Christians and I'm generally misanthropic. I'm not religious cause religion was written by a retarded species: humanity. One CAN believe in God without being religious; that's called spirituality. But I'm not that, either.

Brazil fires back at ‘outrageous’ Israeli response to Lula comments by chakokat in WayOfTheBern

[–]chakokat[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The comments made by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz about Lula are "unacceptable in their nature and lying in their content," Vieira said on Tuesday. He added that Katz's comments were "outrageous."

"For a foreign ministry to address a head of state from a friendly country in this way is unusual and revolting. It is a shameful page in the history of Israel's diplomacy," the Brazilian diplomat went on to say, adding that Israel is trying to cover up its crimes in Gaza with a smokescreen.

Katz accused Lula on 19 February of making a "serious antisemitic attack." The Israeli foreign minister said Israel will not "forgive or forget" what the Brazilian president said, adding that he is "persona non grata in Israel until he takes it back."

On 18 February, the Brazilian head of state compared Israel's genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to the Nazi Holocaust.

"What's happening in the Gaza Strip isn't a war; it's a genocide. It's not a war of soldiers against soldiers. It's a war between a highly prepared army and women and children. What's happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people hasn't happened at any other moment in history. Actually, it has happened: when Hitler decided to kill the Jews," Lula said.

Russia has recorded cases of Ukrainian troops using US chemical munitions during the special military operation, Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops of the Russian armed forces, said on Monday.

"During the special military operation, cases of US chemical weapons used by the armed forces of Ukraine were recorded," Kirillov told a briefing.

Were that true a peace deal would be simple. Putin withdraws from Ukraine. In return, NATO membership would remain as it is, but Putin won't accept this

That has been on the table the whole time and continues to be. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson pressure President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to cut off peace negotiations with Russia the last time this agreement was almost made. This was the demand and terms from the start and through the whole event.

reports in mid-March indicated that Russian and Ukrainian delegations "made significant progress" toward a 15-point peace deal that would involve Ukraine renouncing its NATO ambitions in exchange for the withdrawal of Moscow's troops.

Nowadays, time is MORE IMPORTANT than money. Because of the big governments and big banks being utterly reckless and unethical with their greed, infinitely generating interests in and inflation in a recursive cycle: the Feds lending money to, big corporate banks, who in turn lend it back to the Feds. Much of those money is spent in murdering dissidents and bombing civilians in wars of enemy countries, or in drugs incapacitating people.

Also in my opinion, both college and universities are basically worthless these days, as they cannot guarantee you any stable jobs, and you can learn a lot more useful stuff on your own online anyways. Eg. many of the math and statistics courses taught in Com Sci programs have absolutely no use in any modern day jobs, except maybe PHD academic research, but you will need connections to get in there anyways.

Victims (e.g. regular people borrowing money from banks) should not be blamed 100% of the time.

Predatory lenders could be blamed too, especially if they use deceptive practices, such as without being upfront about all the fees, tricking clients into "gotcha" contracts with many hidden fees and fine prints that takes way too long to read, or if they suddenly change policy and charge more fees without properly informing their clients, or even locking their accounts continuously and never letting the clients take out their money (eg. infinite-auto-renewal GICs with no choice to withdrawal + heavy fines if they try to withdraw). Then the client has the right to sue the predatory lenders in court, especially if the deal was done in bad faith.

It actually makes sense if you don't need a credit score, everything you buy can be 60% off.

My dear father was an art historian. He often photographed paintings in museums, using a tripod and a light meter to get the correct exposure. He would take multiple photos, with lots of close-up detail shots. He was used to photographing artworks that hadn't moved in decades, and always took his time.

In family photos, my sister and I always look impatient and bored out of our skulls 😾

Good ol' American capitalism at its finest. I wonder if the GQP members in the House and Senate would be okay with their children working in these types of facilities. No? Unethical? Child abuse? Oops, child abuse is off the list because in red states tween girls can't obtain abortions if their daddy, uncle, cousin, or pervert living next door impregnates them. So I guess unethical is also not of concern to them - basically, the GQP is by definition unethical, contrary to their claims of being 'Christian' - they sold their soul to the devil a LONG time ago, as have the electorate who sent them to D.C. and kneel before Der Führer. Of course, the GQP and these companies are simply emulating the Mango Mussolini - the digital counter didn't go high enough to keep track of the number of times he hasn't paid for services, filed for bankruptcy, and of course his 91 charges in 4 criminal indictments.

Brics would already be the world currency if it were ever to be the world currency. The problem is that non white people are far worse than white people when it comes to money. So as corrupt as the dollar is, it is still more stable. Realistically the Euro should have supplanted the dollar as well, but there does not seem to be any trust in that either. Even the Europeans can't manage a basket currency. Each member country has it's own financial needs and culture. Ultimately the dominant nation controls the currency according to their needs, which then causes major problems in the other countries who have different financial systems that need different regulations and manipulation.

That statistics prove the article is correct. But I guess if you are still of working age, you won't mind giving up some or all of of your SS benefits when you do retire because the GQP has decided this program is socialism, along with medicare, and let's not forget all of the tax benefits given to corporations due to loopholes written into the tax code by the GQP to benefit themselves and their constituents - YOU are paying for those tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations - but I guess you are okay with corporate socialism - those billionaires are laughing all the way to the bank. Laying blame on immigrants just proves you do not understand the basics of economics and government.

Niacin, or vitamin B3, supplements linked to greater risk of heart attacks and strokes by Cancelthis in Military

Niacin supplements linked to greater risk of heart attacks and strokes

People with higher levels of niacin in their blood may be more at risk of a heart attack or stroke, possibly because too much of the vitamin inflames blood vessels

By Grace Wade

19 February 2024

People with high levels of niacin, also known as vitamin B3, in their blood may be more likely to have a heart attack or stroke than those with lower levels. Excessive amounts of the vitamin, which is routinely added to fortified food and can be taken as a supplement, may inflame blood vessels.

Heart attacks and stroke are leading causes of death worldwide. While researchers have made significant strides over the past few decades in discovering the risk factors for these conditions, they haven’t identified them all.

“If you treat [high] cholesterol and [high] blood pressure and diabetes and all the existing risk factors, you can still suffer a heart attack,” says Stanley Hazen at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. “There is something that we are missing.”

In an effort to fill these gaps, Hazen and his colleagues collected blood samples from 2331 adults in the US and 832 adults in Europe who had elected to undergo cardiovascular screenings. The team analysed the samples for substances called metabolites, byproducts of metabolic processes such as digestion. The researchers then tracked incidents of cardiac events, such as heart attacks and strokes, among the participants over three years.

They found that people with elevated levels of a metabolite called 4PY were around 60 per cent more likely, on average, to experience such an event than those with lower levels. This compound only arises when the body breaks down excess niacin.

We know that inflammation is a major contributor to the development of heart disease, says Hazen.

It isn’t uncommon for people to have high niacin levels, he says. This is partially due to certain foods, such as cereals and flours, being routinely fortified with the vitamin in countries that include the UK and the US.

Niacin supplements are also increasingly popular as evidence suggests they have anti-ageing benefits, says Hazen. Plus, it wasn’t until recently that doctors stopped prescribing high-dose niacin to people at risk of cardiovascular disease, as it was initially thought the vitamin protected people from these conditions by lowering cholesterol.

“I think this study really shows that sometimes, when it comes to vitamins, you can have too much of a good thing,” says Jenny Jia at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.

However, this research was mainly conducted in people of European ancestry. It is therefore unclear if similar results would occur in people of different racial or ethnic backgrounds, says Jia.
