No one referred to gay people as same-sex attracted until mean T**Fs decided to pick on genderosexuals by Chunkeeguy in LGBDropTheT

Bit of a different perspective, but I’m german and found this interesting.

For the absolute majority of my life anything gay (schwul) / lesbian (lesbisch) was referred to as „gleichgeschlechtlich“ / “homosexuell”, which translate to „same sex“.

There’s no translation for „gender“.

So we also didn’t talk about „same-gender“ for a long time as this is literally just an import from english speaking countries with all the ideological framework connected to it by now. So for the first years of my out life I’ve never heard anyone refer to my sexuality and political and legal decisions regarding it, as anything other than the translation of “same-sex”.

But now I’m supposed to incorporate something into my language and understanding, that doesn’t even have a translation.

So I went ahead and linked r/detrans and even the pseudo detrans sub and told him that he could cross post it to them to get a more balanced view and advice on things. Ban.

I do wonder if it is generational

I think so absolutely. And the cut off is very small in my experience. I came out around 2008/09 and my first contact with others like me was via a rather popular forum for LGBT youth. Each letter had its individual sub forum and I remember the T forum had like 20 members lol. It wasn’t anything that was mentioned in the other forums or discussed in any way. Like truly no one gave a shit about what they were doing or chatting about (and I think that’s a good thing). They did their thing, we did ours.

I don’t even remember anything regarding T coming up in the general forum, where LGB could mingle and just chat about general stuff, tv shows, news, hobbies all that.

Then when I moved out five years later, I first came in contact with actual LGBT orgs and got active in them and still T wasn’t really a thing that’s acknowledged, because there wasn’t a single trans person in these groups and it just didn’t cross anyone’s mind. Went on for a few years like that and then their was this sudden change and now pretty much every younger lesbian/bi women I’ve met over the years has transitioned and it’s all they talk about. It’s weird as hell to have seen this happen in real time.

So I recently had a conversation with u/reluctant_commenter about an idea she had about a sub comparing old school and woke homophobia. I added that I had a similar idea where one would simply edit out the word „cis“ to drive the point home.

Inspired me to actually try, so I went through the cotton and boxer ceiling archives and edited out mostly the word „cis“ but also TERF in front of „lesbians“ from time to time and things like „man“ or „girl“ in front of pussy and dick. Basically just erased the TRA gibberish that has no meaning in the first place and e voilà it makes it scarily obvious how insanely homophobic this is. Could become even more concerning to people not in on this whole issue, by just editing out the gaps itself and then comparing it to the og posts with only „cis“ missing in the edited one. Imgur is having problems rn, but I can link a version where the gaps are edited out too later.

P.S. „Good Morning to everyone except...lesbians“ isn’t bad compared to the rest, I just left it in because it made me chuckle because of how passive aggressive it sounds lol

I’m genuinely irritated by people who think uterus transplants and pregnancy will be possible in males.

Plop a uterus in there and you’re good to go, seems to be their idea, ignoring the shit ton of hormones women produce naturally to sustain a pregnancy and build that baby and the changes the body has to go through to make it work and the differences a female body starts out with.

It’s incredible that we’ve come to a point where organ transplants are possible, but they still fail and get rejected in the long run often while they’re simply trying to replace an organ that stopped working. This idiotic idea is trying to introduce a completely foreign organ, which the person never had, and they’re not only expecting it to not get rejected, but to fulfill a process their bodies aren’t made for.

Like ffs I read that there’s currently research conducted into wether cross sex blood transfusions (of women who have been pregnant before) could be harmful for men and they still got their heads in the clouds and think actual god damn pregnancy will be possible for men.

My son is gay. Recently I asked him, would you consider having sex with a trans man. He pondered it. Then he said, “I think so — it’d be interesting to have a different kind of sex while still being with a man.” (this was an unprompted, uncoached answer.)

Umm why does he apparently normally coach his son on what to say lmao

Something I am challenging, in the article, is: is the person attracted to women, or attracted to a specific body part?

I’m attracted to women and woman's bodies. Only women have this “specific body” part. And also yes I like that a lot, thanks for asking.

I am inviting lesbians to consider that, if a woman rejects another woman because this woman has a surgical vagina, then that’s (to a smaller or bigger degree) driven by prejudice.

I am inviting him to consider that a surgically arranged penis and scrotum is not a vagina.

In her heart-of-hearts, is she thinking “she’s not a real woman”?

Yes I am. Because it’s true.

I’m saying that a lesbian woman may enjoy sex with another woman even if this other woman has a penis (I have very much seen it happen).

What a creepy way to say that. And that wasn’t a lesbian

mild distaste to outright revulsion at the notion of using their equivalent of a clitoris for penetrative purposes.

That’s called a penis, sir.

What I define as bigotry/prejudice as pre-conceived notions of who one would sleep with or date, driven by cultural constructs or assumptions, without personal experience.

What I define as repackaged homophobic arguments, is telling me I can’t possibly know that I don’t want to be with men without having tried. Funny how it’s once again a man telling me that, just doesn’t think he is one now.

I am inviting each person to explore themselves, in their heart, and see if they find pockets of prejudice.

Nope sorry, still homosexual.

What is driving one’s comfort or discomfort with another human? I’m just asking for introspection.

After thorough introspection, I’ve concluded that my discomfort with this particular human is driven by his homophobia

There are so many possibilities. Is one woman simply not attracted to the other? (too butch, too femme, too tall, too short, too nerdy, too whatever?)

Too male. One too many Y chromosomes for my taste. Too much dick and balls.

What I’m trying to have you consider is that there is a lot to unpack here

Whenever people say this you just know it will be an absolute dumpster fire and there will be absolutely nothing of value said

After looking him up, I also found the absolute most ironic blog post of the century made by him two years ago:

A look at coercive sex through a young woman’s eyes. The #MeToo movement is inspiring a lot of conversations about consent. And that is good. But I wanted to show, show men in particular, what it’s like to be confronted with coercive sex — the emotions it generates. I wanted you to see it through our eyes.

You don’t even need to click on their profiles. I was active on there for years and it’s super easy to guess which one is a woman and which one isn’t - they can write the most innocent shit, that has nothing to do with any trans related stuff and you’d still be right 9/10.

And I’d definitely say it’s complete. You'll get the occasional young lesbian asking questions, you’ll get the occasional confused straight woman asking questions and discussions about crushes - but if it comes to content that’s heavily upvoted and engaged with it’s male. Granted there are some women who chugged the kool aid and are basically only there to criticize, censor and insult homosexual women and get them off their terfy, evil and transphobic ways while claiming they’re lesbians themselves since their husband came out as a trans woman three hours ago....but apart from that this subreddit is dudes.

Cool. Stop there. It’s fine, you’re a lesbian and start to get over what makes you think you need to work through that.

but then when I was 21 I moved into this queer commune

…weird way of saying I joined a cult / got conversion therapy.

and I wanted to unlink this concepts, because I wanted to be able to respect and see all of the trans people around me

Sucking dick really isn’t needed to respect people. And why would want to respect the people trying to make a lesbian suck dick, anyway?

And once I started doing that and was able to think about dick in isolation not connected to men…I started to feel like…that would feel good tho, huh.

Uh.

Sorry for that dissection, but it really pisses me off.

At the same time I wonder how women like her even „work“…there’s clearly a lot going on there, so I can’t feel anything but sorry for her, but I’m not homosexual because penises make me vomit or something - I’m homosexual because I exclusively feel attracted to women as a whole and of course the genitals they come with. There’s nothing to dissect here. I don’t hold any notions and prejudices against dicks or any other male sex characteristics, they simply do jack shit for me. It’s what 50 percent of the world possesses and these 50 percent simply aren’t interesting to me in a sexual / romantic manner. It’s how I’ve always felt. So tying myself into knots to think about dicks in “isolation not connected to men” won’t do shit, because at the end of the day wether the dick floats in space or is connected to a woman’s forehead, it won’t change how my body responds to it.
So unless you could brainwash me into thinking a dick is an actual pussy, nothing is able to change that. I guess what weirds me out is how it’s never even mentioned what homosexual women are attracted to and solely focused on what they aren’t - sure shouldn’t come as a surprise - but it’s irritating how it’s never mentioned even apart from this conversion therapy bullshit in normal discussions about sexuality. It’s always focused on being “repulsed” by one thing and not you know feeling exclusively attracted to the other.

I wouldn’t have expected to get angry at all this shit anymore by now, but even editing his aunts interview is simply horrible.

He even said that this was about his sexual orientation. Imagine getting beat up in a homophobic attack and the media uses it to push T and then they add on another big scoop of homophobia by transing you.

I feel so bad for this kid, at least his family seems to be supportive.

Lol that second comment

I actually think the idea that trans people “identify” as this or that is really misleading and mostly perpetuated by transphobes.

Have they already forgotten who came up with the whole “a man / woman is anyone who identifies as a man / woman” thing?

Just for the record: Ovarit invites don’t work like that. Pretty much all you need is a Twitter account to message the ovarit account and get a code. Or come across someone currently giving out codes. You don’t need an “established internet presence” or anything and the invite is only needed if you want to post/comment on there.

No, but there were posts debating it. The small lesbian sub also issued a statement, but wasn’t added to the list of supporting subs even after the mods and others (including me) asked the list creator multiple times.

Especially if you rejoin primarily with this goal in mined

I’m not expecting support rn, so yeah being confident on my own and rejoining might be the best course of action.

I would bet money they're grooming kids in online forums.

Let’s just say suspending users for mentioning your name, nuking entire threads and holding subreddits hostage, doesn’t exactly scream “I have nothing to hide.”

....so it’s likely that a pedo banned me from these. Got banned from AL first, followed by lgbt (without ever commenting there).

I feel personally attacked now.

Haha yeah. Like she didn’t need to go into a long explanation, but god turning me into a man, because a kiss on the cheek is apparently enough already, was over the top

our community of women becomes less and less diverse.

Yes! I feel this so much! It is sad how many I met in the community over the years where I thought that she’s really crushing those societal expectations with the way she acts or dresses only to realize that the person “identifies” as something other than a woman.

Thank you so much for the supporting words, sometimes one really needs that.

Yeah I agree with that. Whenever I read experiences like yours, I look back at my life and think about how the homophobia I face(d) could be ten times worse, if generations before me didn’t do what they did and simply existed and lived their lives despite all the backlash they faced. Like I don’t know how old you are or where you live, but I feel like everyone that came out before me here, gave me a head start and a better chance. And then that makes me feel worse about the shit T gets worked up over (like what you mentioned), because it feels like they’re making a mockery out of what LGB people experienced and still experience. It’s a weird time.

But I also think the LGBT has no future.

Yeah I’m stuck in a loop regarding that. Constantly thinking about how I could theoretically “better” it and how it’s just hopeless after all. I watched four (!) gnc lesbians transition over the past years in this small space, including the one I was seriously holding out for, after kind of peaking ,to not make that decision and it just feels hopeless at times.

And I’m seriously thinking about LGBAlliance (they have their own org in my country by now), but I constantly feel like I’d loose so much by admitting that I agree and by supporting them. I would have seriously never guessed that I’d be in such a conundrum over my sexuality and be so pressured into stating what it is (and what it is explicitly not aka the inclusion of “girl- dick”) and be so shamed for it, more than a decade after coming out, while simultaneously feeling pressure to identify as a man.

Edit: sorry, some typos and adding something to the end passage
