Reddit's statement is bullshit... the problem isn't the sub reddits policing themselves, that part is fine. Kick or censor whoever you want on a sub. But Reddit has taken it upon itself to remove entire communities on it's own stating they are hate groups and shit like that. That is where the problem lies. If this is true all I can do is shake my head. I had reached out to the owner to see if they needed an investor to help facilitate them getting up and running consistently. He said they were taking donations and I told him that wasn't what I was talking about. I asked him if he was having hardware or software issues and his reply was efficiency issues.

If they don't want an investor, that is fine, just say that. But he kept mentioning donating several times in the conversation and that wasn't what I was talking about and made it quite clear. Why would I donate to a site that can't stay up and running?

Right now is the time to have your server up and run consistently as you had a huge opportunity to get a ton of traffic from the exodus at Reddit.

I worked at a Hospital and they put in some new spam filter software and all of sudden I started getting tons of spam email. I went to our "network guys" and mentioned this being a bit of an issue for me. Their response was for me to click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any spam emails I had got.

So you want me to start clicking links in emails from people that I don't know who or where they came from. Are you fucking brain dead? This was apparently the recommendation by our "security guy" as well. I had to raise a huge stink about this until they finally reviewed this policy and decided it was bad. This was in the last two years as well. This wasn't some distant past where security was a little more relaxed.

Because they receive protections under Section 230 for being an information service provider. They basically can't be sued because of things said on their service.
