But I agree that it seems that the presence of transgenderism as an accepted means of dealing with gender dysphoria is failing people and is being used by autogynephiles as a convenient excuse to engage in their fetish and force people to condone it publicly.

Transgenderism is essentially saying the only way to address dysphoria is to live in denial and ask society to assist in that denialism. It's not healthy, and it's little wonder it's been a slippery slope to TIMs demanding access to rape shelters and sports teams in the name of validation.
