Irrelevant. He is a mediocre man and too old for the sport who would never have qualified in the men's category. He is among the elite women because being a man physically has given him enough advantage to take the place of other women, but he remains mediocre in his technique, discipline and determination. And he got what he wanted: ValiDatIon uwu.

His defeat is not an argument for allowing any man who transition to take the place of women. If better male athletes start to make the transition, goodbye to the biological women on the podium.

What was the weight he attempted to lift ? If it was above what he has lifted before, then there is a possibility he did not do it on purpose. If it was bellow, the possibility he did it on purpose increases. I think he understands that if he got on to that podium, more people would become aware of the injustice.Meanwhile IOC says that they will rethink the issue of transgender women aka men and that it will not be easy as they have to consider "inclusivity". The solution is simple IOC. Make a separate category for any man that takes estrogen and lowers his testosterone.There.

He failed on his opening weight. It just feels too convenient and he didn't seem upset about it after but on the other hand his form is completely shit so who knows.

This article has a vid of the lifts

I don't know much about the sport but wiki says Hubbard tried to lift 125 kg but has done it before. The gold winner lifted something insane like 330 kg.

The 330 kg probably refers to the total weight lifted (snatch + clean and jerk).

I don't think we can ever know the answer to that. It's possible that the amount of controversy in recent days about the possibility of him winning and what that would mean and how much publicity and division it would generate finally had an impact on his resolve. Either way, he stole a young girl's dream of competing at the Olympics. Unfortunately, smug TRAs like Katy Montgomerie will be crowing about what it means. It's just delayed the discussion that has to be had until the next man lines up to beat women in sport.

All good athletes can have off days. I honestly think the pressure of being at the olympics simply got to him and revealed what the world already knew: that he's a mediocre athlete who decided to compete against the opposite sex in something where sex differences clearly matter because he couldn't handle competing with other men.

I wondered that too. But I think he’s just a pathetic out-of-shape loser who’s unable to finish. For what reason I have no clue - TBH it wouldn’t surprise me if being in close proximity to all the actual women athletes, who are both incredibly physically powerful and obviously female, may have set off his dysphoria to such an extent that he was probably holed up in his room, posting on reddit instead of preparing for the actual competition.

He probably got distracted by his AGP 'euphoria'
