Nah. Lesbians will always rise from the ashes.

Some of those members could have been spies or just inactive. Others may not have joined us because SaidIt isn't as user friendly; it certainly had a learning curve for me.

Why do you think it isn't user friendly? So far it looks like an exact copy of Reddit to me.

I only use the mobile app, and never use the desktop version. While the reddit app has buttons for share/like/reply, SaidIt has a drop down menu where you have to scroll and find all that.

Nah cause real lesbians are going to keep getting banned off of r/actuallesbians so they'll find us eventually.

No, I don’t.

We wouldn’t be here if we believed that. Our job now is to find the others.

I echo my MyCat’s thoughts in her interview. I wish I could find all of you and bring you here.

Also know that we are busy doing things to find places for you. Your moderation team will never give up on lesbian spaces for you so please don’t give up. Tell every lesbian you know about us and wait and see!

I think that aside from the reasons everyone else gave, part of it is may be that the general Saidit userbase is even more of a turnoff than Reddit's. Look at the homepage logged out if you want to know what I mean. I was hesitant to sign up at first as well.

But since we have almost nowhere else to go I'm here. (Plus they let you make an account here without an email attached just like how Reddit used to.)

Omg yes, the userbase on this site outside of the LGB and GC subs is a dumpster fire of neo nazi trolls and professional a**holes! It blows my mind that the idea that lesbians only want other women is on the same level of social ostracization as Neo Nazis 😩

Everyone should have seen this coming when "punch a TERF" was seen on the same level as "punch a nazi."

At the very least Saidit culture centers around debate and has no downvote button, so I do see comments that disagree and present evidence and refutations based on more than just feelings. It feels like people are more willing to have actual conversations here compared to most places online. That said humans will always be susceptible to confirmation bias, victim complexes, and other weaknesses.

In this age of heightened internet censorship I am kind of grateful that people can openly talk about controversial topics here. While I won't be aligning myself with any extremist ideologies any time soon I think people have grown very thin skinned in recent years. We're all just talking past one other instead of with one another. Nowadays it's all about farming internet points and views and "winning" arguments and using silencing and intimidation tactics. It leads to false senses of superiority and security that allow resentment to grow.

If people really want to combat whatever evil they believe is in the world, it's not enough to just tell people to shut up or deplatform them. In fact it often makes fighting harmful beliefs harder. It's ridiculous that lesbians, gays, and bisexuals have been ousted from their own communities by self-identified queer and trans people. All ranting aside, lesbians definitely need our own spaces outside of Saidit.

It would be nice to have our own website like what r/femaledatingstrategy did. I heard gender critical was working on something.

Me too, sometimes (though fortunately very rarely) I see sketchy comments on this sub and check the profile and surprise-surprise they're extremely racist and anti-semitic. I'd like our own site that's separate from Saidit, but I also understand why people wouldn't want the userbase here to be split even more.

Well... our membership has almost doubled in the last week, so it's definitely growing, but, as other users have said, the other membership of this site is a hot, misogynistic, hateful mess.

[–]Fuckyoucensorship 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Not misogynistic enough to try and censor or steal our space though. That should count for something, at the very least they adhere strictly to freedom of speech. I can respect that.

I also appreciate the lack of porn. Reddit is disgusting.

[–]Canardyyy 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Could be multitudes of thing. Non-active user to people not being aware this exist to not like saidit format. Reddit was mobile friendly while this isn’t.

Also keep in mind that this is still fairly new so maybe not many people know this exist just yet.

[–]queerone 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

What Canardyyy says - give people time to find this new niche. Also, I can't speak for other mobile users but for my mobile setup Saidit works just fine.

[–]Canardyyy 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It works fine on mobile. It’s just not mobile friendly in terms of layout.

I'm currently watching Cat's interview. She seems good at attracting lesbians to whatever message boards she's moderating. I have faith in her. Oddly enough, I don't remember her being a TL mod lol I only remember the pineapple mod with the 'eat me' flair lol I believe she had health issues and took a break though. Hope she's well.

[–]mangofruit 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I was wondering why this forum only has two mods vs the 5 or 6 that TL had....

Also, where is this interview? It feels so hard to find things now as someone who was always more of a lurker than anything.

Yes I miss pineapplerevisited, I always loved seeing her posts and Glamalez! I hope more lesbians find their way here, I loved the vibe of TL especially towards the end,it was getting really active and we had some really good discussions.

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Where is glamalez? I liked her

[–][deleted] 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Most were probably not lesbians

[–]Seahorse 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I think a lot were probably just over it and withdrew from online altogether.

It's toxic, people in real life do not have this attitude so it can be less mentally taxing.

Also a lot are on spinster, that's where I am most of the time now.

[–]whateverman 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't think so. And honestly, there are other forums and servers that are entirely lesbian-focused if you're worried.

[–]11mile_house 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

When I first got to Reddit, the first thing I did was look for a lesbian sub and I found r/actuallesbians. It wasn't much later that the cringey trans posts pushed me away. That's when I found r/truelesbians. I'm guessing the same will happen to the others who think for themselves. They will find their way.

[–]beereadit 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

As long as we true lesbians exist we will always find each other be it in real life or the internet.

And just like when r/truelesbians started the community will build up slowly but surely all over again.
