Hold them accountable. If the lgbTQ+ crowd suddenly decide to "cancel" organizations like Mermaids, you can bet we'll hear the same arguments as always. "No trans person supports it", "those who support it are just a small minority, you can't blame the rest of us for it", etc. These same groups are fine with villainizing gay/lesbian people.

If this organization really gets "canceled", we must not let people forget who supported it and who criticized it.

Yes. Don't let these lamestream organisations like Stonewall take all the credit if they cancel Mermaid. They'd do that only so that they don't lose donors and lose support from gay, lesbian and bisexual people and our supporters. Stonewall would still support trans activism for as long as they can get away with it.

I'm not familiar with Mermaids, but I presume that they're an organisation that wants to put children on hormone blockers, is that right? I'm glad that Stonewall dropped them. It's an important step in the right direction.

The CEO is Susie Green who gave her MTF child estrogen at 13 years old and took them to Thailand for SRS on their 16th birthday and is on camera laughing about how puberty blockers/hormones had made the penis so small and underdeveloped that it was difficult for the surgeons to even be able to invert it. She's also argued that SRS should be performed on children of any age as long as they are 'mentally competent' to consent and that they should not be assessed by a psychiatrist as proof of competency.

She's also spoken about how she thought her child was gay at 18 months old because they were too effeminate compared to other male children and that her husband was angry about the kid playing with dolls instead of boys toys. The kid came out as 'trans' at 4 (in 1997, way before it became mainstream)

Of course, homophobic parents are never the reason that kids transition though.

I wonder what on earth Mermaids could've possibly done. I mean, we know what some of the worst possibilities are, but seriously. Giant organizations like these are usually very casual about supporting messed up causes, unless there are serious legal or image ramifications for doing so.

I can't imagine what they've done that's worse than what I already know and what Stonewall supported.

Tavistock said they were coaching children to lie to get hormones, they were sending parents to the Webblerys who were illegally prescribing hormones to minors out of her house--one of their illegal teen patients killed herself.
