Should have gone with 'black' for extra outrage points.

"I'm a oppressed minority because I identity as black" was the way I terfed my daughter.

I asked if it was okay to say I was black and apply for scholarships and other benefits that way. She was outraged... Then ohhh and the light went on.

It might have been too obvious what she was going for if she picked black due to the whole Rachel Dolezal outrage in the media etc. By going with Japanese, who are not traditionally perceived as an oppressed minority, she probably got more genuine reactions out of the interviewees and was able to take it further with more questions. Well played. And good for you for "terfing" your daughter, she should be immune to the propaganda now. ;)

She could have been Japanese though. Or French, or Russian etc there's no way to tell she isn't just by looking at her. Unlike for sex in the vast majority of cases, or skin color, age and height.

Really?

Depends if you're talking ethincity or nationality.. Lots of people have Japanese citizenship who aren't Japanese. But if you're taking about the Japanese as a race, then there are some half Japanese people who don't look Japanese, but have Japanese blood.

Um, no. Virtually no one does. Japan is extremely xenophobic and almost never gives Japanese citizenship to foreigners.

Japan is not generous about granting citizenship, but it is possible to become a Japanese citizen, especially if you marry into it. It's also theoretically possible—not likely, but possible—that she could have been adopted by a Japanese family as a child and grown up in Japan, learned Japanese as a first language, experienced Japanese culture as her native culture, and so on.

[–]denverkris 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

And she still would not be ethnically Japanese, which I think was the point here.

[–]Lapis_Lazuli 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, but I think a person who is legally and culturally Japanese could very reasonably say "I am Japanese" even if she were not ethnically Japanese. (I grant you that people who meet this description are rare, but they do exist; I have met one.) Pinning down ethnicity and nationality can be complex—people immigrate, people hold dual citizenship, people come from mixed-ethnicity backgrounds. With rare exceptions for intersex people, sex is always straightforward.

.. yes?

It's the straight up pride that these people take in telling her that they'd accept her as a man that I find the most terrifying thing about this video. Big smiles, full confidence, no worries that they're doing the Lord's good work so they think that makes the lie they know they're telling inconsequential. They truly think they deserve a pat on the head from big brother for their obediance to the cult. Then later they realise that they've just been played and made themselves look like clowns. Intellectually vacuous, morally cowardly, politically snivelling clowns.

It makes me beg for the friendly asteroids to take out humanity and get it over with. I bet the cockroaches can honestly acknowlege which ones of them are male and female at least, so it seems they'd have a head start over 21st century Western democracies.

This is why I don' t believe they actually think of trans people as their target sex/gender but only do it for headpats.

Nobody believes TIMs are women, but they get off on knowing that they are on "the right side of history", so they pretend they do.

Well, thanks Hollywood!

Gotta get those good boy/good girl points! It's no different than supporters of masking, or of 21st century Western democracies for that matter.

[–]momiji 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

To me it looked not like pride but like fear. Like they had to give the answer they were made to think was right or else.
That's why when the interviewer pressured them to "validate" her other absurd claims about age and height, many of them looked uncomfortable and didn't want to answer.

edited a typo

Turn on the English subtitles.

I can't comprehend how they dare to say you can be a man when you have a whole functioning female body, but can't be Japanese with white features and blonde hair. It's so illogical and straight-up false.

[–]blackrainbow 31 insightful - 3 fun31 insightful - 2 fun32 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

Because now race is binary and sex is fluid, while in the reality it is the opposite

[–]lefterfield 22 insightful - 1 fun22 insightful - 0 fun23 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

For real. It would be possible to be a white-appearing blonde haired Japanese person(one white parent or otherwise odd genetics) - but never for a penis person to be a woman.

[–]blackrainbow 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

We cannot really define what race and nationality is, everyone has their idea, and one of course, can be mixed. That's not the case with sex, everyone is male of female (except for >1% of the population). God, I feel really stupid to say these things in 2020.

"If I feel like 7 years old, should I get to date 7 year old boys or girls?"

cogwheels turning "....There I say no. That you feel 7 is one thing, but what you in fact are is an entirely different matter."

OH MY GOOOOD 😭

I love how you can see the cogs turning in people's heads as they try to come up with the most woke, PC answers haha

[–]itsnotaboutewe 35 insightful - 1 fun35 insightful - 0 fun36 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's like they never thought about it before and took their ready-made opinions about transgenderism (and probably many other things) straight off the woke shelf without question. These are university students who have been taught what to think instead of how to think. It's frightening that they and their peers control so much of the world but have never questioned anything.

I found the insights of the 2m tall, seven year old Japanese male cat very convincing, to be honest.

[–]denverkris 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I have used the height one before. "But you're not 6 feet tall" Come on...you're almost there!

[–]PressSnoozeWoke 20 insightful - 1 fun20 insightful - 0 fun21 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Loved it. Thank for sharing! I was amused watching her serious facial expression after asking the questions, then hearing the answers. Videos like this need to be more popular.

Watching people struggle to answer basic questions of fact shows how powerfully a political ideology can grip a country.

[–]blackrainbow 15 insightful - 3 fun15 insightful - 2 fun16 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

That's hilarious 😂😂😂😂 I wonder what the humans of the future will think about that

[–]squintypreyeyes 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Poor chincel. He's trying so hard to say the "right" thing even though he doesn't believe it. Even offers to reeducate himself for not believing she's 2 meters tall.

Four year old video. I wonder how it is now?

[–]divingrightintowork 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I wish they had gotten a blonde haired blue-eyed person with Japanese citizenship, of which I'm sure exists (In fact I know some people who meet that description).

"Why I am in fact Japanese, here is my passport."

[–]yousaythosethings 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That would have made them feel justified in their positions on sex/gender identity though . When in reality it’s sex that is mostly rigid and ethnicity/nationality that isn’t.

[–]Spicylikegumbo 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I couldn't finish the video. I found myself getting angry. They all kept answering that being a man is about a feeling. Just stupidity all around.
