So, let me get this straight:

The policy of the USA is to do everything
to aid and abet a criminal supremacist regime,
giving it money (lots!), 'intelligence' and weaponry,
helping it mass murder the legitimate inhabitants
of Palestine, and steal their ancestral land,
thus fully colluding in the ethnic-cleansing.

But that's ok ... cause the USA also build a pier for the victims.

Is this a joke?

How about simply not funding, arming and helping the perpetrators?

Did that ever occur to anyone?

I thought Klingons represents Russians, they had a movie where it was like they were in a Cold War and had fragile peace and the symbolism was obvious. So then though after the USSR collapses and they're not communist anymore, then Star Trek creates the borg to represent them? Doesn't make too much sense. I think it represents corporatism and running everything in computers. Very impersonal, laying people off, infiltrating everything, going to be end of humanity.

Funny you say that when you have no idea of Russian military doctrine, insist on a derogatory name for Russian people coming from a group that's been anti-Russian since the 1940s and make conflations with Star Trek's fictional enemies instead of reading about the Chechyan War and how Russia went after military targets over civilian centers.

Now, it's quite common, I've noticed, to compare the Russians to the "Orcs", from Lord of the Rings, these days, in the Western media. And, indeed, I'm by no means sure that J.R.R. Tolkien did not indeed have Stalin in mind with Sauron, and that Mordor was not the Soviet Union, in the mind of the creator of the Lord of the Rings. However, I think in Vladimir Putin's mind, and in reality, the comparison to "The Borg", from "Star Trek: the Next Generation" would be much more apt.

Hint: It's not common except in Eastern Europe to dislike Russia due to it having more success than places like Poland.

Maybe instead of going around talking about countries, you can learn that the CIA usually tries to screw over countries by not telling you the truth about how they function and operate.

I wish I believed the West had any actual power left, because if they don't they might need some help. All of the "weapons were designed to beat the Russians" doesn't really seem that impressive anymore. The Chinese claim they can track F-22s. Now, whether this is true, I don't know, but stealth aircraft can obviously be defeated using satellite technology. The F-22 is fairly old already, but I surely hope the Americans have some wonder weapons left, because if they don't, Europe might be fucked.

Europe doesn't even increase shell production 50 fold in a year. What are they? Stupid? Suicidal? If you have decades of "peace" and robots have existed for 50 years, how the fuck do you mess up military production?

It's like our "leaders" (see Merkel and Schröder (Gazprom payroll)) got a Russian paycheck to weaken Europe.

Can the US even win a major war with just their planes? Won't the air frames wear out too fast? AFAIK, the military can't produce more plans themselves, but they need cooperation from companies like Lockheed Martin. What if they say "No"? Or, what if they say "Well, perhaps for a trillion dollars we will remember how to build another"? I don't know how it works in Russia, but I doubt Putin needs to beg to get some shells produced. He can just march in and shoot whoever is running it in the head and appoint a new one (probably not a good idea, but you get the point).

A no fly zone would have been the best option and it should have been done before Crimea was invaded.

I fully expect Taiwan to fall if China really wants to have it. I don't know whether it will be nuked by the US if that happens, though. All US military planners talking about defending Taiwan don't have a clue, IMO.

What Plan C is, according to its website -

If this seems opaque, well, it is. So far, so much postmodernist brain-leakage. Further down, there’s a little more clarity, as it is acknowledged that the people behind Plan C are “anti-capitalist and anarchist horizontalists”, whatever that means.

If it’s not clear what Plan C is from what they say, seeing them straight is easier when we dispense with the pseudo-academic claptrap and look at what they actually do. It then becomes obvious that the “C” in Plan C, might as well stand for CIA.

Plan C affiliated paramilitaries are actively working for the CIA in its occupation of northeastern Syria via Plan C’s Kurdistan Cluster.

In an interview with London Green Left a Plan C activist explains their commitment to the Kurdish occupation of Syria’s oil and wheat fields.

From Plan C’s own website, which recounts the activities of their activists, its clear that some have been recruited to fight and die in the Syrian civil war, including Anna Campbell, who was killed in March 2018.

Plan C claims that the territory occupied by the United States and its Kurdish proxies following the CIA backed Arab Spring is something of a socialist-ethnonationalist Kurdish utopia.

However, the truth behind this positive characterisation is clear from their acknowledgement that the Rojava movement is, “built on the intellectual, organisational, and material foundations of decades of struggle, primarily via the PKK in Turkey”.

In reality, the PKK is running the show and the PKK has been a partner of the CIA for some time now, as was confirmed by retired CIA employee Marc Polymeropoulos, who admitted that

“The most interesting part of the US relationship in the counter-ISIS [Daesh] campaign is that we partnered in essence with a terrorist group, the PKK” […]

Polymeropoulos’s claims have been confirmed by other sources, including the Cuban News agency Prensa Latina and a report to the UK parliament.

Now, it's quite common, I've noticed, to compare the Russians to the "Orcs"

It's only common among Ukrainian nazis and their defenders.

In contrast, in traditional China, in the Mongol Empire, and, in Russia, which learned so much from the Mongols, the conception of the hive mind is much more familiar, and much more acceptable. We really should bear this in mind, don't you think?

Rather than imagining things, here's a simpler explanation:

Russia and China have learned from history, and they both have a long civilization-scoped history. They're looking at the long term and do not act rashly and irrationally like pissed off toddlers.

In contrast, the US has no ancient history (Europeans committed multiple genocides to erase pre-existing ancient civilizations in order to israel their 'new world') and the short history it has is entirely based in wars of aggression, corruption and acting like pissed off toddlers.

That's all there is to it. Russia and China are, unlike Israel, defending themselves against an outside aggressor (the US), and are doing so in a way that's informed by their long history.

Our honest opinion is that the CIA is behind the Labour left – read on to see if you agree:

This article is being published in two parts. This first part describes what we believe is the CIA’s main conduit for influencing the UK left, the anarchist collective Plan C and identifies the organisations it utilises as fronts.

The second part will recount how and why we consider these known Plan C fronts to be responsible for the collapse of the Corbyn project, both as an electoral initiative and wider movement.

[–]penelopepnortney[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The media's job is to create the impression of uncertainty, doubt and confusion. Our job is to explode that lie, denying them and the political class they protect an alibi

First, we should honour the brave journalists of Gaza who have paid a horrifying price for making the Palestinian experience of genocide visible to western audiences over the past seven months.

Israel has killed a tenth of their number – some 100 journalists – as it tries to prevent the truth of its atrocities from getting out. Israel’s has been most deadly eruption of violence against journalists ever recorded.

Second, we must shame the western media – not least the BBC – who have so utterly betrayed their Palestinian colleagues by failing to properly report the destruction of Gaza, or name it as a genocide.

The same media that celebrated families taking in Ukrainian refugees has willingly conspired in the smearing of those whose only crime is that they wish to stop the slaughter of 15,000-plus Palestinian children in Gaza.

There is apparently nothing heroic about opposing Israel’s genocide, even if opposing Russia’s invasion is still treated as a badge of honour.

The media give politicians a free pass to vilify as an antisemite anyone outraged that UK weapons are being used to help kill, maim and orphan many, many tens of thousands of Palestinian children. That accusation assumes that every Jew supports this slaughter, and erases all those Jews standing alongside us today at this protest.

He was so self-centered one wonders if he was on the spectrum.

Extremely likely. The author accidentally hits on it: a lot of people in history with the "let's try to make sense of a large and chaotic system" mentality were on the spectrum.

“If you can’t even clean up your own room, who the hell are you to give advice to the world?” Peterson asks.

I find Peterson's stance quite silly. Many of the most brilliant people in history didn't clean up their rooms. Why? Because their minds were exclusively dedicated to their work.

Albert Einstein was not a room-cleaner. His desk was littered with clutter. He never wore socks and his feet stank. He drove his cousin-wife Elsa out of her poor mind trying to clean up after him and make him presentable.

It takes all kinds to run a society, and some kinds are not room-cleaners.

They're equal in the polls, nationally, which is baffling at several levels: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/

I think all the polls are showing clearly is how dissastisfied people are with this election.

They ask registered voters "Who will you vote for," and 40% say Biden, 40% say Trump, and 20% are like "You know what, this election sucks, I don't like anybody."

Well, okay, fair enough, but when those 20% actually go to the polls, they're gonna have to fill in one of the bubbles. And history shows us that even if they're thinking "grumble grumble I'll vote Green Party or RFK or libertarian or something," fewer than 5% of them actually will.

So the whole election, really, lies in those 15% who are like "Fuck the whole thing" but, in reality, are actually going to vote Trump or Biden. The polls keep asking them "but which one will it be" and they keep saying "I can't bring myself to say I'll vote for either of them."

Which kind of makes this an unpollable race.

The United States has suspended the delivery of weapons to Israel - Axios

Inside sources claim that the Biden administration held back a massive ammunition shipment to Israel last week - and this was partly the reason why Netanyahu hasn’t invaded Rafah already.

Israel's Haaretz reported that Netanyahu hoped Hamas would reject the deal. Now Netanyahu is trying to break off the negotiations, won't accept a ceasefire and wants to invade the refugee camp in Rafah.

This confirms that Israel is as weak as ever and is completely dependent on American weapons and defense.

De facto the USA is at war in the name of Israel, for now only with weapons.

The Kings of Garbage, or, The ADL Spied on Me and All I Got Was This Lousy Index Card by penelopepnortney in WayOfTheBern

https://archive.md/d09D8

In 1993 I received a letter in the mail. It informed me that I was the victim of an illegal spy ring involving members of the ADL and a San Francisco Police Department intelligence detective called Tom Gerard. The letter came with an index card that included my full name, driver’s license, the license-plate number on my shitty old Subaru hatchback, and the Mission District addresses of my apartment and the leftie bookstore where I worked, near Guerrero and 20th Street. My file had been marked “Pinko,” one of five categories that the ADL spymaster used to flag the group’s targets.

But I was not alone. Police had seized thousands of index cards like mine in raids on the ADL’s San Francisco office, and in searches of the homes and storage facilities of the organization’s key figures. According to newspaper reports of the time, 12,000 Americans and 950 groups were victims of the now-forgotten scandal.

The ADL did not restrict its harassment of Arab-Americans to surveillance of the ADC. At least one Arab-American activist on whom the ADL kept a secret file, Mohammed Jarad, wound up arrested on a visit to the occupied territories. Jarad was subjected to enhanced interrogation techniques, forced to sign a confession written in Hebrew, and released without charge after six months, and allowed to return home to America. U.S. officials at the time expressed serious doubts about Jarad’s signed confession.

The ADL spy ring also helped trigger the 1987 arrests of eight Los Angeles Muslims—seven Palestinian men and one Kenyan woman—who were falsely accused of supporting terrorism and ordered expelled from the United States. SWAT teams broke into the defendants’ homes, detained them without charge or trial, and subjected the group, known as the “Los Angeles Eight,” to an ordeal that only ended in 2007, when a Los Angeles judge finally dismissed all charges and denounced the case as “a festering wound on the body of respondents and an embarrassment to the rule of law.”

Expecting to find proof of spying in San Francisco, and possibly Los Angeles, the FBI learned that the ADL was running a covert spy network in cities across the country, and that in each spy ring hub, they had local police officers doubling as ADL moles.

I was in no condition to see that spy scandal for what it was: raw, unvarnished Israel-advocacy politics—an early preview of the sort of cynicism, paranoia and right-wing extremism we’ve come to expect from pro-Israel groups. When Israel took the occupied territories in 1967 and imposed Jewish-supremacist rule over the native Arab majority, that was it. Israel, Zionists, and their supporters crossed over to the dark side.

Pretty useless poll, in my opinion.

It's a popular vote poll, which of course means nothing in the U.S.

It found that 9% of voters will vote for RFK, which... I think we all know isn't going to happen.

It has Trump at 46% national support, distinctly less than half, and still calls that a blowout victory.

And finally, it's Rasmussen, perhaps America's least or second-least reputable pollster.

[–]unagisongs 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is faulty logic. Self destructing your nation state to maintain your identity is short sighted. South Africa renounced it's apartheid policies and reorganized under a new government and it survived. Israel has clearly failed to maintain it's global political legitimacy just as South Africa did by not treating it's citizens as equal under the law. If apartheid Israel continues to embrace ethnic cleansing and genocide they will lose enough international trade to cause an economic drain that will force the potbellied occupiers to evacuate to prosperous nations. Israel won't be the first or last petty power that has destroyed itself to cling to identity as a colonial master.

[–]unagisongs 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Why focus on Israel?

It's been continually committing crimes against humanity since at least 1948. A few decent people reject crimes against humanity as non-negotiable and will not participate monetarily, politically or socially.

They were only responding to a mass slaughter of their own citizens

The Palestinians would agree with this statement. They have been agreeing to this statement for almost hundred years now. Yet they are not allowed the same respect as their murders due to their identity.

and are just trying to stabilize the situation, so it won't happen again.

Israel has been excusing genocide and ethnic cleansing through this tactic for longer than it has existed. Perhaps next time if they wanted to protect their people they would have not held a large music festival next to their apartheid fence with no one guarding them. We have a word for this: bait. Hamas took that bait and Israel got blanket global permission to openly engage in ethnic cleansing and genocide. Everyone in the political picture got what they wanted.

The Muslims are always trying to destroy the state of Israel, because they won't tolerate a non-Muslim nation in their midst.

That is a poor argument. It is literally not accurate.

It's atypical for a modern nation state to openly engage in all out ethnic cleansing and genocide. It is nonsense to state that nation states need to engage in these activities to maintain their existence. The historical record is pretty clear that nation states that engage in repeated internal ethnic cleansing and genocide typically do not last as they hollow themselves out in the process. However their always exceptions to that rule since that historical record is quite long and varied.

The issue is that these universities collaborate with the state of Israel. The students don't want them to take money from Israel or advance or support the nation of Israel in any capacity on their dollar. The universities don't want to change. It ain't that complicated.
