Research papers should be free. Internet should be free. Cell phone service should be $10 a month. Also, the state of automation is so mature it is threatening to destroy civilization as we know it by taking away everyone's job. At this point any competent, well intentioned government should be able to leapfrog old technologies and start breaking ground within a few years using automation to build out infrastructure at a pace never before seen and a cost that would be negligible. The only thing holding everyone back now is corruption, namely entrenched political and financial elite who use artificial scarcity to dominate the majority.
