Ugh!

This is the Saidit version of the Homan vs Cortez 'debate':

We all know that 'undocumented immigrant' is a politically motivated euphemism for what's actually an illegal immigrant. 'Undocumented' is the term intended to confuse, i.e. to hide that it's criminal to break into and/or remain in a country illegally.

We're talking about lowlifes who broke immigration law to get into a country and/or are breaking it to remain in it. One of the schemes they use is to apply for some or other temporary visa, essentially by making disingenuous/false statements hiding their intentions, and then to ('Oops!') let it lapse.

And you and many like you are pretending to believe the lie that this is not bullshit and part of a criminal enterprise.

I just don't get it.

[–]HugodeCrevellier 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes, seriously. About 1/3rd of illegal aliens did do that. But the majority are just overstating a visa.

What '1/3rd' are you talking about?

Even a biased ACLU says that 'current estimates are that approximately 45% of undocumented immigrants did not enter illegally.'

If 45% of 'undocumented' [illegal] immigrants did not enter illegally, then 55% did enter illegally. So, the majority did not just overstay a visa but entered illegally. So, for the majority of them, that attempt of a bullshit technical loophole doesn't even apply.

Seriously?

8 U.S. Code § 1325 - Improper entry by alien:

Improper time or place; avoidance of examination or inspection; misrepresentation and concealment of facts

Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/8/1325

But, wait, why did I need to do this, ... didn't you see the above-linked video, where this was plainly explained? Even that ACLU 'advice' of yours included what crime it is. Of course, being the ACLU, it (purposely) misinterpreted it, pretending not to understand the term 'elude' for example.

In any case, now that you know what the crime is, don't forget to alert the ACLU, that joke of an organisation, to their error in advising gullible people, which, worse than an omission, is a wilful, politically motivated, distortion of the spirit of a law.

Imagine some lowlife breaking and entering into your home and, if caught, having some woketard scumbags from the ACLU arguing that this is fine and that they committed no crime.

Every moron that favours uncontrolled immigration should be forced to take in the immigrants into their own homes and to pay for all their expenses, etc.

Only then might I manage to muster up and ounce of respect for them.

As it is, they, you, are pretending to be 'generous'(!!) ... but with other people's money and social services.

That's not true, in the general case. The term "illegal immigrant" is used to mean undocumented immigrant. Its not a crime to be an asylee.

It is true, again, by definition. If you're in the country illegally, you have committed a crime. You are, in other words, a criminal. 'If you want to ask for asylum, go through a port of entry, do it the legal way.'.

The prescience of this piece on Ukraine, by Seumas Milne, for The Guardian, written in 2014 by HugodeCrevellier in Europe

[–]HugodeCrevellier[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

OK, that seems to be a quote, but not from the piece in question. Here's what the piece actually said about that 'Revolution of ... Dignity!' :D Seriously, did the CIA bring in a PR firm to brand it?

US and European leaders championed the "masked militants" and denounced the elected government for its crackdown, just as they now back the unelected government's use of force against rebels occupying police stations and town halls in cities such as Slavyansk and Donetsk.

"America is with you," Senator John McCain told demonstrators then, standing shoulder to shoulder with the leader of the far-right Svoboda party as the US ambassador haggled with the state department over who would make up the new Ukrainian government.

When the Ukrainian president was replaced by a US-selected administration, in an entirely unconstitutional takeover, politicians such as William Hague brazenly misled parliament about the legality of what had taken place: the imposition of a pro-western government on Russia's most neuralgic and politically divided neighbour.

And here is what the actual piece in question said about Crimea:

After Crimeans voted overwhelmingly to join Russia, the bulk of the western media abandoned any hint of even-handed coverage. So Putin is now routinely compared to Hitler, while the role of the fascistic right on the streets and in the new Ukrainian regime has been airbrushed out of most reporting as Putinist propaganda.

So you don't hear much about the Ukrainian government's veneration of wartime Nazi collaborators and pogromists, or the arson attacks on the homes and offices of elected communist leaders, or the integration of the extreme Right Sector into the national guard, while the anti-semitism and white supremacism of the government's ultra-nationalists is assiduously played down, and false identifications of Russian special forces are relayed as fact.

The reality is that, after two decades of eastward Nato expansion, this crisis was triggered by the west's attempt to pull Ukraine decisively into its orbit and defence structure, via an explicitly anti-Moscow EU association agreement. Its rejection led to the Maidan protests and the installation of an anti-Russian administration – rejected by half the country – that went on to sign the EU and International Monetary Fund agreements regardless.

And here what concerned the author, ten years ago, in 2014:

In fact, one outcome of the crisis is likely to be a closer alliance between China and Russia, as the US continues its anti-Chinese "pivot" to Asia. And despite growing violence, the cost in lives of Russia's arms-length involvement in Ukraine has so far been minimal compared with any significant western intervention you care to think of for decades. The risk of civil war is nevertheless growing, and with it the chances of outside powers being drawn into the conflict.

But not only does whoever owns/controls Saidit not mind, but they even seem to like/need [fake/bot] new accounts and [fake/bot] numerous page visits.

It makes Saidit, I've been told, seem more popular than it is, creating thus a false profile.

This is apparently desirable for some reason.

It's so desirable, apparently, that they pursue that fake [bot/spam-based] profile to the detriment of their real, human, Saidit users, showing complete disregard for them.

However, openly murdering people to steal their land makes for bad PR.

To start mass-murdering people by the tens of thousands required some 9-11-type event, which would engender enough outrage for the Neocon-occupied USA and its bitches to ignore Israelis committing this ... helping them do it even.

The claim that illegal migrants (like this guy) commit fewer crimes than natural citizens cannot be true, by definition.

Illegal migrants are criminals to begin with.

If they weren't, they'd be legal migrants.

To ignore, disrespect and break the laws of the country that they're breaking into is the very first act they committed, day one.

Finally, and in any case, does your claim take into account population percentages?

If migrants are let's say 1% of the population, is their portion of the crime rate really less than that?

Since you like links so much, a link to the study/numbers you're using might also be useful.

What users here don't seem to appreciate is that new accounts and numerous page visits increase traffic to Saidit, which raises its profile.

What some others don't seem to appreciate is that to pursue [fake/bot] new accounts and [fake/bot] numerous page visits in order to increase [fake/bot] traffic, and to thus [dishonestly] create some fake popularity profile, makes Saidit seem like a kind of scam. But to what end? Is someone making money from this, somehow? Seems unlikely, doesn't it?

Now, if/when any censorship-fleeing actual human ever happens to chance upon Saidit, they'll be immediately assaulted by all the spam and will likely leave in disgust. They're almost certainly not going to create an account. Basically, only spambots create new accounts on Saidit. Human participation has been dwindling.

Also, allowing spam (to artificially inflate Saidit's popularity profile?) implies a shocking level of disregard towards any remaining real, actually active, Saidit users.

M7 has noted in the past that increased traffic is helpful, even if Ed generated it at that time.

Increased traffic, if essentially all fake/bot/spam, is helpful toward ... what exactly?

So I think the solution is automoderator development and many additional moderators who can ban/remove spam, while also adding and upvoting content.

Really? The actual solution seems rather to be to pause new subscriptions, which are essentially ALL spambots, at least until the elections. This would not only show respect for Saidit's current real, active human users, but it would actually be honest: You'll then get Saidit's REAL 'profile', not some fake spam-inflated bullshit 'profile'.

I did much of this over the past few days in several subs, but the spammers now avoid those subs. Their strategy is to use a new username a few dozen times, and when that's not working, they reduce activity in the subs where their usernames have been banned. (Admins can ban the usernames for all of Saidit, but I am not sure that's happening.)

There seems to be a perfectly good site-wide actual solution to spam that some people seem to be straining to pretend is not available.

The Greek coastguard has caused the deaths of dozens of migrants in the Mediterranean over a three-year period, witnesses say ...

This is just terrible, plus dozens in three years is but a drop in a sea of illegal immigration ... so such awful acts don't actually make any real difference.

European laws need to change. Only legal immigration must be allowed. Any and all illegal immigrants must be sent back at the expense of their country of origin.

As it is, these poor people are being constantly enticed by various promises into illegally, and therefore dangerously, migrating into Europe.

This is done by an unholy alliance of Europe-hating sociopaths that seek to de-Europeanize Europe, by human traffickers that enrich themselves and, of course, by poor virtue-signalling useful idiots, that believe the corporate propaganda pushing them to try to turn Europe it into yet some other 'diversified' brown soup of moron consumers, without history, nor identity.

Corporations do that so they can pretend to care about people (!!) on the one hand, while getting more and cheaper workers into Europe on the other, something which, as an xtra bonus, leads to the dismantling of European labour protections.

'~ 60-8o million people killed', what don't you get?

Europe was bombed, invaded, occupied, looted and divided by foreign powers ('Gulag' Stalin's USSR and 'Nuk'em' Truman's USA), that then set up a grotesque situation, where half of Europeans were structurally set to fight the other half, to benefit, not Europe of course, but foreign interests. This was done even within individual countries, most notably Germany, where Germans were now divided and made to fight each other. Meanwhile, the USA and USSR suddenly acquired space programs!?

Still today, Europe's foreign/'self-defence' structure is tied to a US-led NATO, its policies de facto being decided in Washington, by warmongering Neocons with imperial/hegemonic ambitions. One of the most absurd elements of it is, for example, that virulently anti-European Turkey is forced upon Europe as a permanent (fake) ally, while a more actually European Russia is forced as a permanent enemy.

Basically, that today's Europe, including especially the UK ('the US's lapdog'), is structurally a US bitch, is due to its WWII destruction, invasion and occupation, in other words, to the war that, supposedly 'to defend Poland!', England launched upon Germany and, after its forces were repelled (or, rather, ran away), its subsequent refusal to sign any armistice with Germany ... among many other lost opportunities for peace.

Incidentally, I don't know what to think about that obsession over just some fraction (~10%?) of the resulting WWII victims, calling their deaths 'the Holocaust!'(?), but, in any case, this is not a conversation we could even have. In post-WWII Europe, 'holocaust denial' has been made illegal. Questioning the narrative is a crime, you go to jail for it, and people have. So, basically, we can't, weirdly, even talk about it.

Of course, besides the possibility of governments being compromised/corrupted, in Europe we do not have the same legal free-speech protections as the USA does still, for the moment.

So in Europe, even such a forum might end up forbidding most reasonable views, to only allow the fashionable totalitarian crap du jour, e.g. what some woke neo-inquisitors might favour.

Mutilating underage kids might legally be similar to sex with them, which is, even with their consent, considered rape.

And, incidentally, how did our civilisation end up in a place where this is a thing, to begin with?

Both Israel and Hamas committed war crimes in the early stages of the Gaza war, a U.N. inquiry found on Wednesday, saying that Israel's actions also constituted crimes against humanity because of the immense civilian losses. by neolib in WarWatch

This particular 'war', or, actually, this particular mass murder (of a confined/imprisoned people, surrounded by walls), is indeed certainly a genocide, demonstrably so.

Or, rather, neither.

The issue, as always, are the civilians, children, etc.

It can arguably be honourable for a soldier to, in war, kill another soldier.

However, it's NEVER honourable for a soldier (i.e. military forces) to target and purposely kill civilians, women, children, etc.

... the Gaza 'war'.

:/

This barrel-shoot mass-murder, of civilians almost exclusively, many of them children, is about as much a 'war' as the Warsaw-Ghetto 'war', with similarities also in the rhetoric:

Internal SS report about that 'war', written on 16 May 1943:

180 Jews, bandits and sub-humans, were destroyed. The former Jewish quarter of Warsaw is no longer in existence. The large-scale action was terminated at 20:15 hours by blowing up the Warsaw Synagogue. ... Total number of Jews dealt with 56,065, including both Jews caught and Jews whose extermination can be proved. ... Apart from 8 buildings (police barracks, hospital, and accommodations for housing working-parties) the former Ghetto is completely destroyed. Only the dividing walls are left standing where no explosions were carried out.

[–]HugodeCrevellier 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nothing.

The norm for us seems to be to assume what the experts/masses say is conclusively right by virtue of how established the authority is, depending on the subject.

Appeal to authority is (specifically) not what happens with objective facts and real science (profit-driven/corporate 'science' can indeed fudge).

If the world maps say North America is on top of South America, or the historical textbooks say we didn't discover America until after the first one thousand years AD, or Stephen Hawking says we have a black hole in the center of the galaxy, we typically think "yes, alright", and I don't doubt those examples.

North America is on top of South America as a matter of mere convention, i.e. placing North up and South down, for the sake of consistency/simplicity. Historical textbooks have been updated with evidence that Viking Europeans 'discovered' America earlier. All Physicists, not just Hawking, say we have a black hole in the centre of the galaxy, because, so far, that's the best explanation from the observed phenomena.

As to your specific phobia:

'A woman was nearly swallowed by quicksand on a Maine beach' and her husband 'was able to grab her and pull her to safety'.

So even in a freak example where, 'horror of all horrors!', what you fear most has happened to someone, it ... almost happened.

Sure, if some freakish occurrence is not physically completely impossible, it can indeed occur. It's just very unlikely. There are many more dangerous, and more likely occur, things to worry about.

In any case, statistically, you'll actually probably die of ischaemic heart disease, if that makes you feel any better.

The Belgian police raided the house of some aid/assistant to a politician ... 'looking for evidence of influence by Russia'!

This rather makes it even more obvious that 'if Europe is the puppet of anyone, it's that of the US-based Neocons'.

The Belgian police will only raid houses looking for evidence of influence by countries being targeted by the US-Neocons.

However, the Belgian police would never raid houses looking for evidence of influence by the USA, Israel, the Ukraine, or other Necocon-favoured/controlled regimes and/or organisations.

Bullshit.

Israeli acts have already met most and arguably all the conditions for genocide.

In a just world, the process of indicting the Israeli leadership would have commenced, which, if previous norms were to be applied, would likely get them all hanged.

As for any Neocons acting for the Israeli regime, a foreign entity, while employed by US government bodies, they'd likely meet that same fate, but for treason.

Europe needs to indeed be independent of foreign influences.

However, nobody can credibly claim that European politicians are Russian puppets.

If Europe is the puppet of anyone, it's that of the US-based Neocons, just like the USA itself.

And these Neocons have the USA involved in a constant state of war, directly or indirectly mass-murdering peoples all over the planet, pointlessly.

As for the label of 'far right', the corporate press/stooges apply it to anyone advocating reasonable/sane immigration policies, but their economic policies can actually be quite 'left-ish', which leads talking-heads to all kinds of mental gymnastics to try to explain.

Agreeing/disagreeing is one thing, but doing exactly what I said you would is another:

The actual issue, of course, is the apartheid, land-theft, ethnic cleansing, the actual fucking genocide(!), massacres, (mass) murders, mass-graves, innumerable dead/murdered children, etc., but, since committing such acts cannot possibly be justified, there's an Israeli effort to divert the issue from that to whether the left support Hamas or not (really!? - who cares?), which is indeed a hasbara scheme.

I don't know who these 'protesters' are, so it's not inconceivable that some 'useful idiots' may be among them,
but, then again, there's what, two of them with that specific sign?

In any case, it's an infamous hasbara scheme to try to make it about 'HAMAS!' and not about 'the Palestinian people'.

Their more general aim seems to be to try and distract, confuse and scare away people from noticing and then, of course, protesting,
Israeli apartheid, land-theft, ethnic cleansing, an actual fucking genocide(!), massacres, (mass) murders, mass-graves, innumerable dead/murdered children, etc.

Incidentally, if you find yourself somehow actually cheerleading genocide, mass murders, etc., ...
you might want to seriously reevaluate who the actual 'useful idiots' are.
