Another aspect. Needles may be needed in times of illness or injury, but probably there is no good reason to stick yourself with a needle when you're healthy.

Maybe the act of piercing the body with a needle is a subconscious recognition of illness (dis-ease)?

Piercings too.

Getting stuck with needles is unpleasant. There is something unsettling about it. Your person being pierced by a cold, sharp metal implement, delivering a mysterious foreign substance. But maybe there is an appeal for people with certain deviant tendencies.

With drugs, you chase a state of mind that may be very enjoyable, but risk serious injury or death. You receive something with known, but not totally predictable effects into your person in a somewhat traumatic way. For some personalities, this is thrilling.

Tattoos, probably a similar effect when it was an unregulated, seedy thing done in back alleys. Also an initiation rite in certain subcultures, a way to prove you were tough/brave.

Vaccines. Maybe this is an initiation rite for the modern mass culture. A proof of obedience, submission of bodily autonomy/integrity to the medical priesthood.

If we want to discuss the notion of people being "owed" something, "the world" is too broad a category, so of course it sounds silly and "entitled" to say "the world owes me". But we can reasonably say that there are social structures that "owe" people something. These are the groups into which individuals are born: families, clans, tribes, ethnic groups, nations, religions, and so on. Rather than "owing something" as in being indebted to individuals with a negative balance sheet entry, these structures, when healthy, have something of positive value to provide to individuals. These could be things like good rearing, education, social 'goodwill', etc., all of which should in turn lead to economic opportunities, eligibility to find a mate, and raise one's own family in a reasonable community - creating positive feedback for the next generation.

So it's not that people are "owed" something due to their having earned it through personal effort or merit, but rather that a good society creates surplus social (and material) value, which can be more or less fairly "distributed" among its members. Individuals are not just "given stuff" like spoiled children, but they are given reasonable opportunities to make use of, which they must work for. Their work in turn contributes to the commons; this arrangement can be said to represent a social contract. When this situation has begun to break down, (some) individuals are still compelled to contribute, but are unable to acquire the social goods that previous generations came to expect ('be entitled to'). These individuals are frequently dismissed as whiners, based on the erroneous assumption that the opportunities are still there, so failure to advance one's interests must be due to personal failings rather than the decay of social structures (a process which is anyway too abstract for the average person to comprehend).

the world doesn't owe anyone anything

I think this is a modern way of thinking, probably influenced by capitalism and American individualism. The modern concept of 'owing' is limited to clearly defined tit-for-tat transactions. Traditional ideas about social contracts and duties involved more complex, nuanced and sometimes asymmetric exchanges of value.

Obviously social groups and institutions exist to provide collective value to their members, otherwise what is the point? It isn't that a given individual is entitled to a specific thing, like marrying the girl of his dreams or being the CEO of SpaceX. Rather, individuals who form part of a collective should reasonably be able to expect opportunities to exist for them based solely on their membership in the group.

I that sense, "the world" - not all of humanity, but the social structures to which individuals belong - does owe people something.

Shepherds or pastoral peoples make their living relatively independently from established political power structures and settled populations. They are mobile and can move to a new place if conditions change. They can trade with sedentary people or raid them or just live outside the main centers of civilization and keep mostly to themselves.

"Shepherd" is also a metaphor for a leader of religious congregation. The literal meaning of "pastor" is "shepherd".

Yes, religious and intellectual leadership is needed, both to guide the masses and to counterbalance the destructive tendencies of sociopathic elites. Since this leadership is mostly gone, society will continue to deteriorate until a stable dark age or idiocracy-type situation is reached. There is little individuals can do to build communities in such a situation.

You, dear reader, are to blame for failing to take any action to rectify the current situation even for yourself.

In what ways can decent individuals substantially improve their own lives, let alone rectify the situation, in a society as depraved as this one? It's all but impossible through individual effort. Some level of decency must exist in society in order for individual action to have any effect. Decency and good values are not only rare, but are actively suppressed, while bad values are imposed and enforced. And now international travel is being suppressed, so it's increasingly difficult for individuals to improve their own lives by going to a less depraved place.

You haven't produced anything of value that could improve the world.

I think it's unrealistic to expect individuals just to step up and create value, because there is (a) no support to do so and (b) modern society hates and seeks actively to destroy anything of real value. Many people who would produce value in a better society are unable to do so now, for various reasons. They may be excluded from the relevant positions where they could do so, because of sex and race quotas, or because of their political views or personality (decent people are not wanted). If they are able to secure a position, they may still be unable to produce value because producing value is not their organization's priority.

As for purely individual efforts, usually people can't produce something of value in their spare time, for lack of time, resources and feedback. If a genius programmer or inventor does manage something like this, the idea is either stolen or ignored. Normally, individuals contribute value to society in the context and with the support of an already functioning local community, which provides a range of ways for them to do so: in a religion, in a trade or profession, in voluntary organizations, informally among neighbors and friends, in extended families. These structures were built over several or many generations, but now are all but destroyed.

You haven't sought out decent people to possibly form decent communities

The few remaining decent communities have high barriers to entry, whether formal or informal.

You haven't supported conservative religions that are needed to give moral guidance to the moronic masses.

In the past year and half, a lot of decent churchgoing people who thought they were supporting conservative religions found out that their leadership is aligned with the satanic global regime, and totally unqualified to give moral guidance. The few remaining religious communities that have not capitulated are difficult to join for various reasons.

Why doesn't sanity have advantages? by fschmidt in nonmorons

[–]wary_observer 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Included in my definition of sane is a full awareness of how current civilization is going.

Someone with a full awareness of how the civilization is going will always be an outlier. Most folks aren't oriented towards civilization-level topics.

One might not have much grasp of abstract stuff, yet still have a sense that something is off, based on personal experience. This is a matter of intuition more than intellect. One who has this sense, in an insane society, is relatively sane.

To be happy, one must purge most knowledge and awareness of the state of our species.

To be happy in an insane society, one must purge one's very instincts. Lately, we are even asked to deny the existence of differences between men and women.

Can someone with their eyes closed and fingers in their ears really be sane?

Really, no. Actually, yes, because that is exactly what is expected of people. And 'sanity', as officially defined, is a social construct.

In trying to understand why a major change in the way of doing things is implemented in society, we should identify what sorts of things are necessarily impacted by it. We should look not only at the downstream effects - the impact on the subjects of the change - but at the upstream effects - the advantage gained by the agents of the change. The latter may be more revealing than the former, as it may give us clues as to whether and to what degree the change is made as a strategic move by its agents, as opposed to just an unfortunate byproduct of assumed abstract market or social forces.

Groups of Value: Anabaptists, Jews, and Japanese by fschmidt in nonmorons

[–]wary_observer 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In the case of Japan, their high level of commitment seems to be rooted more in ethnic, cultural, territorial (i.e. national) ties than in religion as such. I imagine modern Japanese businesses and their relationship with employees could be a throwback to medieval fiefdoms.

Western Europe, around the same time, had the guilds which built upon the value contributed by members and provided value back to them. Both of these systems grew from distinct local cultures and political structures, and were probably strongly tied to local religious groups as well. The group that is historically and culturally closest to this in the West would be Anabaptists. I wonder if part of their success, in contrast to other Christians, could be that they also maintained a somewhat coherent ethnic identity (preserved their ancestral languages, etc.) while living in fairly isolated rural locations.

For orthodox Jews, I would say the basis for their identity and commitment is something like ethnic "separateness". While the Japanese identity formed through millennia of geographic isolation, the Jewish identity formed through ethno-religious separation over a similar time scale. But for the Jews too, there was a significant degree of physical separation in ghettoes and other territorial enclaves, and this was deliberately maintained. Liberal Jews are just riding the coattails of orthodox Jewish historical distinctness and current western (formerly Christian countries') decadence. They are not a sustainable group.

Russia and China are huge super-countries, comprising many ethnic groups under a broader cultural identity. They are more sustainable that the West, because instead of pitting different groups against each other in a divide-and-rule fashion, they seem to be promoting cultural and linguistic homogenization headed by the dominant ethnic group. But this works against group distinctness, so does not promote groups of value.

So I think creating a sustainable group of value requires an optimal blend of cultural, ethnic, and religious identity that is reinforced over time by some degree of territorial isolation.

Wisdom is drilled out of most high-IQ people (if they possess any naturally) through years of training ('education') that is narrowly-focused on specific pattern recognition (plus the ideological indoctrination that is now rampant). This type of intelligence is useful in various types of technical operations -- flying an airplane, performing actuarial calculations, writing a legal brief, etc. -- but is not always sufficient for the business of living life, as such. I think focusing too much on this type of intelligence leads to a serious weakness in the long term; it produces a class of people who are paradoxically highly-skilled in some narrow discipline, but at the same time, astoundingly naive socially and politically (like your colleague).

the vaccinated people would have a significantly higher IQ.

virtue-signalling to the moronic masses

Through this evil signalling, the evil intelligent people are able to identify each other so that they can cooperate to do evil.

I think these represent the extremes of the target audience, or the two ends of the intelligence bell curve at which the two types of signalling respectively are aimed.

What about the midwits? I think they suffer from a combination of self-imposed stupidity/blindness (through years of indoctrination as well as simple cowardice) and a kind of received psychopathy which they absorb from their superiors in the social hierarchy. How consciously they do this would vary but it seems to derive from some combination of Stockholm syndrome (unconscious loyalty to the evil regime) that induces reflexive parroting of certain memes, and calculated self-interest. And of course social media works as an echo-chamber that such maniacs are drawn to in the first place and gives them a platform to spew their venom.

Anyway, this is nothing new. There was a similar phenomenon in communist countries, where psychopaths and sellouts were fond of using vacuous social-justice sloganeering and hypocritical virtue-posturing for career-advancement purposes.

This sounds like a modern interpretation. Noticing the negative is not the same as being negative.

The negative person will notice shit on the ground and warn his friends not to step on it.

I just call this being a good friend.

I also disagree with your assessment of their relative value. The first order of business in life is to survive. This is in fact mostly a matter of identifying and avoiding or neutralizing the bad/noxious/dangerous. This "negativity" helps you not to be killed by rivals or die from eating poisonous mushrooms, etc. Once survival is assured you can move on to improving things and building culture, which depends both on avoiding the bad and recognizing the good.

We live in a decaying society that has lost discernment of good and bad. Hence the results we see all around us. The fake positivity is not just noise. It is negative, a noxious product of the dishonesty and insecurity of a dying culture that must continually reassure itself of its "goodness", while parasitically subsisting on the meager residue of past accomplishments.

If the elite only allow morons morons to live, things would presumably stagnate and become uninteresting for them. Society would just devolve into an ant farm or zoo. Presumably the elite's goal would not be to kill off people above or below a specific intelligence level, but rather to design a society, composed of both morons and nonmorons, in such a way that maximally elevates their level of power in relation to all non-elites, keeping them in power as firmly and for as long as possible. Presumably, this drastic power differential would maintain the illusion (both for the masses and themselves) that the mortal elites are like living "gods". This seems to be what they are aiming at with the so-called 'vaccines', universal surveillance, transhumanism agenda, etc.

However, it does seem the average intelligence level or bell curve has declined over time, partly due to natural factors and partly encouraged by social engineering. I assume the elite do not need a very large number of intelligent people to serve them. So I agree that the elite would want to kill off most nonmorons, but they also do not need so many of the useless eater morons. The vaccines are targeted at both morons and nonmorons, and this is corroborated by the fact that many high-IQ people have taken them as well as submitted to the broader program.

Islam seems to work for a broad range of nations. But I would not say it doesn't care at all about culture. It does have Arabizing tendencies, and Islamic nations have adopted Arab culture and language to various degrees. But apparently it doesn't work for Europeans. Maybe it could, but historically, they have rejected it. Europeans have not converted to Islam except for a handful of isolated instances in the Balkans, and those were by conquest, or under imminent threat of such. Whereas various Asiatic nations farther from the Arab heartland than the Balkans have converted with a much lesser threat of conquest (central Asia, Indonesia). This suggests to me that universalist proselytizing religions may have a place in history; but in general, successful empires have tolerated (viable, non-degenerate) local cultures and religions. Perhaps religions broadly appeal to different cultures/nations.

I meant just in that aspect. He may be conservative on other issues, yet liberal on this one. I would say universalism is a liberal tendency. Yes, it worked in spreading Islam, and that may be a good thing, but it doesn't mean it will lead to good things today.

Isn't it basically conservative to support the integrity of an existing ethnic group? I defer to Genesis 11 on this matter. This is one of the few examples of direct, drastic intervention by God to prevent some presumably terrible outcome. It seems to imply that God doesn't want too much universalism.

[–]wary_observer 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

My take. The discussion was asymmetrical in the participants' basic assumptions.

The White Nationalist has a deeper understanding of historical trends and biological reality, while the Muslim is better aligned with today's Realpolitik. I found the Muslim a bit too liberal/modern in his promotion of multiracialism/multiethnicism, but this could just be a reflection of Islam's universalist tendencies. But the Muslim's position is stronger in that religion will likely be the primary identity factor in the future.

Ideally, one would want some combination of both religious and ethnic coherence for a stable society.

What is courage? Maybe it's the will to follow through on good intentions, despite countervailing factors (fear, etc.).

It's a tricky thing, though. King Solomon had a genuine intention to become "smart" (wise), and sincerely asked God to grant him this gift. God heard Solomon's sincerity and granted his wish. But in the end, Solomon's courage failed him, and he squandered his God-given wisdom. Why?

choose to fall back on doing or saying stupid things, out of narrow, short-term self-interest.

Solomon fell back into idol worship, following his self-interest in order to please his many wives and concubines.

[–]wary_observer 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

There is reflexive intelligence which is useful on the time scale of sports, IQ which is useful on the time scale of a math test, and wisdom which is useful on the time scale of a lifetime or several generations

I agree with your assessment of the first type of intelligence. Reflexive (physical, athletic) intelligence is useful to the individual (or small band) on an immediate time scale. It was probably much more important in the distant past than in modern society. Its impact does not go far beyond the individual who wields it. I think of this type of intelligence as a low-level (in a non-pejorative sense), animal type of intelligence. It is always manipulated and harnessed by wielders of higher-level types of intelligence. What of lasting significance can a pro athlete, or even an outstanding soldier, achieve, compared to the sports tycoon (or corporation composed of high-IQ individuals) who buys and sells athletes, or a staff-level general, responsible for decisions that affect the fate of nations? This is a question of both time scales and scales of groups and group-affecting actions.

I think IQ is a combination of both innate and trained logical, pattern-recognition, technical problem-solving type intelligence. Its useful time scale might range from the immediate to the middle-term. I think in the longer term things become more complex and unpredictable, and less manageable by this type of intelligence alone. (On historical time scales, one needs to deploy all types of intelligence optimally to have a lasting impact.)

Wisdom is a more elusive term, but I think OP has it right that wisdom is "knowing where to aim". Wisdom could be anything from immediate-term common sense (street smarts) to middle-term social cunning or business acumen to long-term awareness of and alignment with basic time-tested life principles (on both individual and societal scales).

No, because obviously he is capable, despite his lack of wisdom, of performing higher-level tasks than a low-IQ moron.

By the same token, if a low or mid-level IQ person has wisdom, is he smart?

No, he is wise.

"Caliber" is a term sometimes used to describe great intellects. (Others have likened IQ to engine horsepower or CPU processing speed). To develop this metaphor, consider that the NVA, equipped mostly with small-caliber arms, drove off the most powerful army in the world of the time, which was systematically pummeling their country with vastly more devastating weapons, developed and coordinated by well-funded teams of high-IQ individuals. Did the NVA, in a military sense, possess intelligence (large-caliber gun barrels) or wisdom (knew where/how to aim)?

Japan has been geographically isolated, and ethnically and racially homogeneous for a long time. As you say, it retains a good culture to this day, when compared to the degenerate West at least. And we also know that Japanese culture remained relatively (to Europe) intact despite very recent and rapid modernization, devastating war, occupation and cultural intrusion by a foreign power.

It seems to me Japan's nationalism is tied to ethnic/cultural identity more than to religion. Religion as such seems like a subtle background element in Japanese culture when compared to the role of Hinduism or the Abrahamic religions in their respective nations. I have never been to Japan, but that is my impression from what I know about Japanese culture.

If I'm correct, this would be an example of culture or race or both being a sufficient basis for national solidarity. It would follow that religion is not always a necessary element in the same. And it would then also follow that a nationalist or racist rightist movement would not necessarily have to be "religionist" to be effective.

So, is the modern right worthless because it is "only" racist/nationalist/not tied to religion? Or is it that, besides lacking religion, it also lacks sufficient racial/national solidarity to be effective?

They are not traditionalist because they have no traditions. They are not religious because they have no meaningful religion. They are not cultural conservatives because they no culture.

Which is why they are not true "rightists" at all. They are merely the least enthusiastic left. Actually, they are enthusiastic leftists, since nearly all self-identified "right" endorse most aspects of modernity and the sexual revolution. They are less far gone though in that they have some of the old-style tribal (ethnic) identity left. This is not very sincere or cohesive except for a very small core of dedicated individuals, and these can accomplish nothing beyond their immediate circles, given the prostrated condition of their base. The regime obviously sees this and views the right with contempt, judging by the recent acceleration of its assaults. But as, you say, it's an empty identity, and this is because the right no longer embody those virtues that once made their nation great. Only a husk or appearance is left.

The worthlessness of the modern Right can be seen in what they produce. They produce nothing of value. No good movies, no good music, no good software, no good architecture, no good anything. If they had a meaningful identity, based on tradition, religion, or culture, then they would produce things of value.

This is true, but maybe a bit harsh. Because culture is produced from the top down, and the right, such as it is, is excluded from access to positions of influence (and recently actually blacklisted as seen with the "cancel" movement), conservative or traditional-tending people can not really be expected to produce the cultural artifacts you mention. They are under attack, and that is not the time for producing art or software, at least for most people who are not already dedicated to such things. What the right should be doing is building communities, networks of trust and solidarity that will be in place before things get really rough. Since the right did not do this all these years while the left was advancing its agenda, the right is doomed.

The reason I think it's harsh though is that people who think of themselves as "right" or "conservative" do not tend to be activists. They are the opposite of the left, in that they want to be left alone, while the the left is meddlesome, intrusive. The left gains power parasitically, at the expense of normal people, centrists, conservatives, or whatever you want to call them. While the right has nothing to counteract this. By the way, I think this is one of the main reasons why cultures tend toward entropy and eventual collapse on a fairly regular schedule. Conservatives always face an uphill battle against the forces of decay.

All have turned away. All alike have become corrupted.

All have 'chosen' the path of corruption, of sin. But the right course is always available.

There is no one who does good.

It is essential to do good. (James 2:14) Of course in order to do good, one must first be good.

If taken at face value, this kind of thing looks tidy, 'systematic', businesslike. I can see how it would appeal to bureaucrats or whatever their modern equivalent is. But I don't think the kind of people who publish these aim at explaining anything.

This is an attempt at abstraction and simplification of reality. It promotes two-dimensional, binary, machine-like decision-making, stripped of the intuitive, human element and disregarding any broader, deeper contexts. It emphasizes process/ following procedures/ algorithmic thinking. It would tend to channel the action of organizations into rigid, narrow parameters in the face of complex, nuanced situations.

The proposed algorithms or guidelines do not necessarily have to be concrete or specific; they may be more like 'meta' schematics that in effect define 'acceptable' ways of thinking/deciding.

This is thinking inside the box.

Humanity, no. Maybe unknown individuals are creating something of value. But they will not be publicly recognized.

I think all music, art, architecture that are accepted into the public realm now are actually anti-music, anti-art, anti-architecture. It's especially blatant with public architecture.

As for technology, take automobiles for example. The technology was perfected sometime in the mid-20th century and since then has devolved into needless complexity. Part of this is by design, of course, to drive up both the initial price and the cost of repairs. Most cars now are designed not to be repairable by the owner.

Even something as simple as light bulbs has gotten worse. Again, by design. Instead of the warm glow of incandescent light, now we have everywhere the cold harsh glare of LEDs and CFLs. The latter are mercury-filled abominations that are advertised as environment-friendly. Everything is backwards.

The push for automation and networking of everything (internet of things) is another example of modern idiocy. The idea is to make every device into a "black box", accessible only to the manufacturer. The purpose is not convenience but centralized control and data mining (spying on) the user.

"No plans" only means "at this time". As we have seen, plans and promises change quickly since this past year. Besides, the establishment will "require" this in whatever way and through whatever channels are most effective. Basically this means applying social and economic pressure. Employers, businesses, schools, local jurisdictions, whatever. If you cannot make a living and buy food and medicine without proof of having received the injections, then they are, in fact, required.

As to which countries are most likely to have mandates or apply the most pressure on their populations to get the injections, I think the western countries will be worst, followed by wherever there is the most influence of the western establishment.

I think this is an excellent litmus test of allegiance to satanic mainstream culture and government.

If a Mexican store required masks, Mennonites simply wouldn't shop there. The result is that all stores are forced to accept people without masks.

This is what all decent, self-respecting people should do. But since modern people are a mass of fearful, atomized slaves, they will submit to any indignity to get by.

Of course the Mennonites also refuse the vaccine while the Mexicans eagerly get jabbed.

The incredible thing is that so many people are eager to get jabbed. It's as if they know deep down that they are just cattle with no will of their own and are okay with that. When it is time for cattle to be herded, penned, branded, sheared, or slaughtered, they simply line up and submit to their owners' will.

Humanity has become completely worthless and needs a reboot.

Yes, but not just any reboot, or things may just go the same way or worse. If humanity gets the reboot the global elite have planned that presumably will not improve things, even though most people deserve exactly that.

The test in the last year was the covid insanity imposed on humanity by the satanic globalists.

It's a test of discernment. (https://charltonteaching.blogspot.com/search?q=litmus) If it didn't at least shake you out of your stupor, you are most likely lost.

Most people outside of modern culture seemed fairly harmless.

Those who truly are outside modern culture truly are harmless. But they are also powerless and mostly invisible. Today, there are very few left outside modern culture. Even many members of fringe religious groups are within modern culture. The evidence of this is in their assumptions about reality and consequent attitude toward world events. If one accepts the worldview of the dominant culture and globalist media, one is within modern culture. Any affiliation one has with self-identified fringe religious or political groups is then superficial, inconsequential.

But now these masses of people around the world are following the orders of Satan/evil through the chain of command starting with the global elite, who instruct politicians and the media, who guide the masses. So today the masses around the world are following evil

They are following Satan/evil because they have accepted its basic assumptions about reality and rejected responsibility/free will/being made in God's image. Namely, the assumption that nothing matters, so you are not responsible for anything, so you may as well live out the rest of your life according to hedonism or expedience or resentment. They are not all following with equal enthusiasm or with equal gullibility. But ultimately, they have chosen their side. (see above link)

The chain of command you've named from Satan/evil through the global elite and its middle managers down to the masses is accurate, because life is always a top-down affair, and it works the same way with good. There can be be grassroots action, but only with proper spiritual hierarchy and religious leadership.
