the world doesn't owe anyone anything

I think this is a modern way of thinking, probably influenced by capitalism and American individualism. The modern concept of 'owing' is limited to clearly defined tit-for-tat transactions. Traditional ideas about social contracts and duties involved more complex, nuanced and sometimes asymmetric exchanges of value.

Obviously social groups and institutions exist to provide collective value to their members, otherwise what is the point? It isn't that a given individual is entitled to a specific thing, like marrying the girl of his dreams or being the CEO of SpaceX. Rather, individuals who form part of a collective should reasonably be able to expect opportunities to exist for them based solely on their membership in the group.

I that sense, "the world" - not all of humanity, but the social structures to which individuals belong - does owe people something.

'Entitled' is a fairly meaningless term that does not accurately describe most of the incels on this sub or elsewhere on the Internet. On one extreme, the word 'entitled' is used to describe men who literally believe that they should be able to force women to date them. On the other extreme, the word 'entitled' is used to describe men who are merely frustrated or sad that they can't find anyone at all to date them. This type of frustration is reasonable, since sex and romantic relationships are regarded by many as one of the most fulfilling things in life. The problem with using the word 'entitled' for both categories of men is that it lumps them together, demonizing men in the latter category by companing them to men in the former category. If you wish to criticize our views, please be more specific than merely calling us 'entitled'.
