There is a bakery within walking distance of where I live. I never used to go there because I'm not a big fan of bread, but a couple of months ago I decided to go there to see what else they offer. They had this "cannoli cake" that looked really good: It was a small cheesecake crust, with a layer of cannoli, and then a layer of whipped cream, covered with ground almonds, with a half a cannoli on top. I told the owner I wanted one and she charged me $3.50 for it. I thought $3.50 was a really good price because it was pretty big and looked really good.
As I was walking home, I was thinking about how happy I was that I found this place, and how great it was that they were selling this delicious looking thing for so cheap. I was thinking about other aspects of the bakery and trying to figure out what nationality the place was. I had assumed it was an Italian bakery because cannolis are Italian and most people where I live are of Italian descent, but then I remembered the owner had some sort of a heavy German-sounding accent. This made me realize that she was probably Jewish and this was probably a Jewish bakery. My happiness turned into disappointment because I remembered that when Jews are involved, things are never as good as they seem. Although I tried to avoid being prejudiced and dwelling on this too much.
I got home, ate the cannoli cake with some coffee, and it was as delicious as it looked. I sent pictures of it to my family and bragged about how it was only $3.50. A couple of days later I got cravings for another one, so I walked back to the bakery, and asked for another one. This time she said it would be $4.00! She knew I liked it and so she decided to raise the price on me.
I told myself that I would not go back for 1 month to send the message that I was unhappy with the price increase. I didn't go back until today, and this time, it was one of her employees at the counter. I ordered the same cannoli cake, and the worker asked the owner how much she should charge. Then the owner looked at me and said "$4.50". I felt so helpless.
I do not think it is in the owners financial interests to keep playing with the prices like this. It pisses people off and how much extra money do they make as a result? - very little. I have said before that I don't think Jews are particularly cheap. The reason this bakery owner kept raising the prices like this on me is because she likes being in control. She sets the prices low initially, because she likes seeing the goyim squirm when she raises them. She likes seeing goyim get enraged when she raises the price, and then seeing that the goyim are forced to come back when they have no cheaper alternative to turn to. When someone hates you but keeps coming back to you, this means you truly control them.
I refuse to submit to this social control. I will go to the supermarket and stock up on corporate desserts from there. It's true that buying these corporate desserts also probably benefits Jews, but at least I won't have to deal with them face to face.
