I have a question regarding hypergamy. Wouldn't that have some sort of latent evolutionary call at its base? Marrying someone that is more likely to be able to provide for children makes sense for that.

There's a vast distance between hypergamy and marriage. Hypergamy means women get to experience the cock carousel and collect STDs, then, when they can't attract men anymore, try to find someone financially stable to commit while bitching that "there aren't any men". I don't see much of an evolutionary call in this.

If women had to face the consequencies of their actions instead of having access to abortion and instant divorce and the freedom to behave sluttily, they would obviously have to adapt their behaviour and do their best to commit to a man suitable for a life together.

That's why I presented it at the baseline of looking for viable partners with supportive incomes being an evolutionary calling, and not the rest-- because that's new behavior.

You realize this is an issue among both sexes, correct? It's a cycle that feeds into itself.

No sane man will feel right when treated like a wallet or a backup plan. And women usually look for financially viable partners after they have exchausted all options for "fun". Even then, they have extravagant demands and a man with an average income is not good enough for them.

Ok, understandable. Usually someone wants to feel appreciated and cares about for something aside from their ability to pay for shit, and don't want to be the final option. I'm still slightly confused as to how this is an issue that's across the board though. Wouldn't it be easier to avoid that once you're aware of what you don't want with dating? People here are sort of all over the place income and education-wise, and tend to intermix-- but it's not a large city. I've encountered that specific type of woman here, but they're kind of in a sea of others and easy to not have anything to do with.
