AGB asks the question: "Where is it all going wrong?" by JulienMayfair in LGBDropTheT

It's because there is a certain group which was allowed to prove that the slippery slope predicted by the right was an accurate prediction and not a fallacy. They said that if we gave gays rights, then people would go after the kids. It may not be the gays going after the kids, but a lot of gays sure are complacent with letting the people going after kids associate themselves with us.

Used to identify as bi despite never wanting to be with a woman by Chocolatepudding in LGBDropTheT

[–]Three_oneFour 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

These people see sexualities and genders like fashion statements. Being bi is chic and popular? Jump on the bandwagon. Pansexuality is sooo fantastic? Slap that label on every social media bio. Being gay is a last resort? Might as well do a third coming out of the closet. I wish people would stop identifying as what is fun and start being what they are.

Was there ever an anti-LGB backlash to an ad campaign with similar consequences to the Bud Light fiasco? by JulienMayfair in LGBDropTheT

To be fair, bud light wouldn't make any sales if they tried selling the beer as just beer. Lifestyle advertising is the only way they sell anything. That, and I think being cheaper than anything worth drinking?

Especially if they can offer something that people afraid to come out see as a way to reconcile their sexuality with still being straight. Someone afraid to come out as homosexual may receive less backlash in some situations if they come out as a trans heterosexual instead. See Iran, which offers medical transition as an alternative to prison time for homosexual men.

[–]Three_oneFour 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

True. The right didn't make great predictions, but they'll claim the victory of "we said bad shit would follow gay marriage, and it did" even if the specifics were as wrong as can be. And that claimed victory means people who may have at one point been on the fence are now going to see "credibility" on the right and inconsistency on the left.

In politics, no one is opposed to pretending they said something different to make it seem like they knew what was happening all along, but some situations are easier to work that than others.

A transwoman visits AGB to lambast the gays for hoarding tops and bottoms… by Chunkeeguy in LGBDropTheT

[–]Three_oneFour 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Top and Bottom as nouns are already unhelpful enough in the gay community, I don't think we should be exporting that. Topping and bottoming can be verbs very easily, just to point out, but identifying as a Top or as a Bottom can be restrictive to one's thinking. There are lots of ways to enjoy sexual pleasure with someone that aren't anal.

They just want to exist by xandit in LGBDropTheT

[–]Three_oneFour 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I suppose the argument is 100% disingenuous but not entirely false. To exist, they need to do all these things because without controlling culture to focus on them, their "community" will fizzle out and cease to exist altogether. So they do "just" want to exist, but their existence requires them to violate so many other things.

It's interesting that you can see every stage of the narcissists prayer with these people. First, it was that they weren't trying to get people without gender dysphoria to transition. Now, we're at the part where we supposedly deserve to have people without gender dysphoria undergo reassignment surgery

Hopefully they're able to see where the line is before they go too far. I don't think it's an inherently slippery slope, they just need to make sure no one lubricates it before they give us our rights.

It may be that the gender crowd has made so much focus on who is or isn't in your sexuality datability/fuckability groups that people who can't be bothered to give a damn about sorting every human they meet in terms of sex (so nearly anyone outside the gender crowd) think there's something unique about them for being normal humans who aren't totally sex obsessed.

It would be like if people who drove cars to commute started identifying as pedestrians because vocal car nuts have garages bigger than their houses with a dozen vehicles inside and normal drivers don't think that they count anymore for having just one car.

It's almost as though gays existed and were fighting for our rights before a certain drag queen didn't attend a specific riot in recent history.

LGB men and women are and have always been fighters. We don't rely on anyone else for our progress, we carved it out ourselves.

Yeah, it's hard to say how much it actually fits gender ideology and how much gender ideology has tried to use these kinds of talking points. And while it makes sense that they weren't about to explain sexual reproduction on TV, him going to "snips and snails and puppy dog tails" as his first explanation of the difference between men and women was a bit odd.

Actually, never mind. If they did question that, their idea would probably be to transition all the homosexuals out there to turn us into straight trans people.

Has anyone else opted-out of relationships? by NutterButterFlutter in LGB

[–]Three_oneFour 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm not wasting effort on trying to find a relationship, but it at time feels like that's because my area has no availability. My college has, like, 6 other gay guys in it and they're already dating each other. The rest of my town seems to have no people in my age range at all, let alone gay men. I could look for a local daddy, but I'm not looking for that kind of relationship dynamic. If I find any single gay man within 5 years of my own age, I'll probably try to ask him out, but that search isn't turning up any results.

Yeah. The big argument in favor of puberty blockers is that if the child wants to go through with transition, they won't have the "damage" of having gone through the "wrong" puberty. Aside from the fact that this sounds like a conspiracy to make sure they don't develop as their sex would dictate and thus are way more likely to feel like they don't fit in as the sex they are since they missed puberty, I don't see how they can possibly hope to go through with their correct puberty after missing it. They claim that you can't undo puberty, but that would imply that you can't do puberty late either.
