US troops should have left Syria and Iraq long ago by Drewski in Antiwar

Entering Afghanistan was a mistake. If Bin laden was there, then killing him should have been the job of Navy Seals, not the regular military. Afghanistan was a fuckup right from the beginning. It was basically started to make Americans feel better after 911.

The united states murdered over a million Iraqis over non-existent weapons on mass destruction, but it is the Muslims who are savage animals. Israel is committing a genocide while the entire world watches but it it the Muslims who are savage animals. Muslims are savage animals, russia is evil, china is corrupt, etc.

All countries use propaganda to manufacture consent from their people, but the difference is that people in russia and china know that their governments are lying to them. Pretty much every conflict that the US has been in since WWII has been to syphon money from the taxpayers and put it into the hands of the defense contractors and corrupt politicians. The US has never successfully occupied and controlled a country militarily and Syria is no exception.

RFK, Jr. insists there was nothing wrong with him flying twice on Epstein's jet with his wife and he never went to the 'infamous island': 2024 candidate calls for ALL flight logs to be released ... - "He added that his ex-wife was friendly with the pedo's infamous madam Ghislaine Maxwell" by neolib in conspiracy

[–]Drcolossus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think that the Epstein scam worked on multiple levels to compromise people. There was the obvious tactic of getting people to fuck underage girls (and probably boys too), then use that as blackmail against them. But the process of finding people who would do such a thing meant that Epstein and Maxwell went around inserting themselves into elite social circles. They built up this phony baloney reputation for Epstein as a financial wiz kid, which gave them an excuse to glom on to different influential people. After it was revealed that Epstein and Maxwell were pedo-sextraffickers, it put a stink on everyone who ever even vaguely associated with them. So now anyone who shows up on the flight logs or in photos is now a possible client of theirs regardless of whether or not they actually were.

I have no idea if RFK Jr. was compromised or if it is just guilt by association. But it doesn't really seem to matter. The idea that he might be is now in our heads.

Women are much more likely to die due to a back alley abortion compared to one performed in a proper medical setting. I would be interested to read any data that shows whether professionally performed abortions are more or less dangerous than childbirth. The likelihood of a woman dying during child birth has decreased considerably as medical science improves and I assume that this also applies to abortions.

[–]Drcolossus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think people like to pretend that carrying a baby to term will have no negative effects on the woman. They act like all she has to do is sit there and wait for the baby to grow and then poof the baby is born.

I'm not a woman but from what I have observed the entire experience is life changing in both positive and negative ways. People like to focus on the positives.

Women die in childbirth. Their bodies change in permanent ways. Their feet get fucked up. Their pussies get fucked up. Their hips change. Their hormones go crazy. They go through wild mood swings. They experience excruciating pain during childbirth. The vagina often tears and has to be stitched back up. It is a fucked up mess.

Like Bill Burr my politics falls somewhere in the middle of this debate. I don't think it is black and white. If a woman is raped (especially an extremely young one) they shouldn't be forced to carry that child to term.

The metaphor that I like to use is that if someone breaks into your house (aka rape) you should have the right to defend yourself and kill the fucker and throw his ass out on the street.

The cake metaphor is hilarious, but it ignores the fact that after you bake a cake you eat it and then it is gone. It’s a bit more complicated with children.

I don’t like the super “lefty” perspective either, which aims to make it seem like abortion is no big deal akin to taking a shit or having your period. Which it obviously isn’t especially the further along in the pregnancy a woman is. That’s when things get really dicey, but even then miscarriages happen all the time.

I wish the whole debate wasn’t just this moronic left vs right bullshit that our “leaders” have weaponized in order to trick people into voting for them.

Hey I recommend for your next purchase that you try to track down a vintage cast iron skillet. They are a complete game changer. The surface is so much smoother than lodge or any other brand and they can be got for like $20. A properly seasoned piece of vintage cast iron is a thing of beauty. Also if you are looking for non stick you should check out carbon steel it's amazing. Fuck all of that non stick crap.

[–]Drcolossus 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that plenty of slaves did run away and they were subsequently hunted down beaten and/or hanged in front of the other slaves. This would send a very powerful message to the other slaves. Most prisoners chose a shitty life in a cage over the finality of death.

Even if the slave did manage to evade the bloodhounds of a particular slave owner. I think it would be next to impossible to make it all the way to the northern states without someone identifying you as a runaway slave.

It's not like they could change their skin color to blend in. So basically any black person roaming the country side was fair game for anyone willing to capture them and sell them back to the plantation.

What's the line between plump and fat? by Rastafoo in whatever

[–]Drcolossus 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I think you missed the point. I wasn't really referring to people at either extreme of the fitness spectrum. I was only generalizing about people on the edge of being plump or fat.

Skinny women will call themselves fat when they are fishing for compliments or possibly reassurance. They almost always know that they aren't, unless they are anorexic or something.

The rest of the time when a skinny woman puts on 10 or 20 lbs they get a little plump, but they invariably think (accurately I should add) that they are getting fat. Fat chicks will indeed eat another piece of cake, since they rationalize it by telling themselves that they're curvy and plump.

Now at the other extreme of the spectrum there is the fat chick who has just completely given up and accepted her fatness. At this stage there is nothing left for them to identify as except "sassy" or "big" and there is usually no going back to being plump since their obesity likely started before elementary school.

Easily one of the most thorough and well presented documentaries on the subject of 911. Even if you don't agree with everything presented it definitely pokes enough holes in the official story for it to be obvious a cover up of some kind took place. Unfortunately it is such a long documentary that most people will never take the time to watch it in its entirety.
