RIP Michael Hastings
and Real Journalism.

He was speaking too much Truth!

This is what got him killed ~~~~>

"I think the only recourse for this kind of behavior by the gov't, is to say back to the government: We declare War on you. and from this point forward, we should no longer, as a media, as a whole, cooperate in any manner with the government... we should publish everything we know. Because its a Free Press, it's not a Free-except-for-when-the-gov't-tells-me-to-do-it-Press, and we've been way too easy going with these guys, we've let them get away with this for years, we've let them tell us what to print, what not to print, and I say: Be done with it. Let's get together and fire back."

You are right. His new Mercedes-Benz was taken over by remote control and driven at high speed, prompting a huge explosion on impact with a tree, to which Benz replied, "Our cars do not explode." Some intel was involved, absolutely. We must not forget that due to CIA manipulating over fifty years, Golden Triangle opium had been all but eliminated from the equation and Afghanistan was the main source of opium/heroin in the world. As yet we do not know which agency/country seized control of all those poppy fields after the US military left but most likely the CIA and Taliban are working together to guard the crops. It's just too lucrative a crop to lose.

GEORGE "POPPY" BUSH.

All the military that was in Afghanistan were moved because they might be needed soon in other areas. The tons of equipment left behind were a bribe to the Taliban so they would guard the poppy fields until the CIA can fly the harvest to wherever it is processed, probably Mexico. The harvest is usually January/February so we'll soon see if opiate users are using white powder or staying on synthetic Fentanyl. They prefer the powder. Yep, Poppy Bush and Georgie the younger got their money from family opium smugglers of old, running those Clipper Ships. It's a business that just keeps on going. Greetings Tom.

US military could end the wars overnight with bombing but want to keep it going for maximum profits

[–]Canbot 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Isreal yes. Saudi, no. While Saudi royalty may occasionally buy our politicians, we do not send billions in "aid" money to Saudi Arabia. We do not have an insane over representation by Saudis in our government. We do not have our congressman sign pledges to support Saudi interests. We do not have laws preventing the boycotting of Saudi products.

... despite spending $600 billion a year on the military ...

"Despite" or "due to"? The point of a war is to channel tax payers' money to the politically well connected. Winning results in winding down the expenditure. You cannot win, there is too much money at stake.

Well it started after ww2, korean war the US was fucked, Vietnam war the US was fucked again. America and it's dimwitted citizens thing it was a mutual agreement or whatever BS they call it. Fact is uneducated peasants were better than the US.

The military is very successful in transferring wealth though.

[–]jet199 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Part of that wealth transfer is to poor states with high unemployment which would vote out their politicians if those jobs disappeared.

[–]filbs111 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's true. It would be interesting to see a costs breakdown.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

and the poor young men might revolt if they don't have the military as an employer

You can make a bomb out of manure and wood?

And it seem we more got bored and left than had our asses kicked.

[–]BravoVictor 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

You can make a bomb out of manure and wood?

Yeah, manure is a common source of fertilizer, and nitrogen rich fertilizer can be used to create bombs. That's what McVeigh used to bomb the Kansas City federal building. The FBI routinely checks up on anyone building large amounts of fertilizer who's not a farmer.

[–]Smarterthanlastweek2 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

McVeigh didn't use cow shit to blow up the federal building.

[–]jet199 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Is this the new "Epstein didn't kill himself"?

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

probably playing semantics, cuz it's not pure cow shit, they refine it so it's just amonnium nitrate

[–]Smarterthanlastweek2 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I doubt they use cow shit in any part of producing ammonium nitrate.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

you're low IQ on the subject then

[–]Canbot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You can get ammonium nitrate from other sources. Not to mention ammonium nitrate in fertilizer is not processed from shit anymore.

[–]BravoVictor 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In a sense, that's exactly what he did. He used ammonium nitrate, which is extracted from manure.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's what McVeigh used to bomb the Kansas Oklahoma City federal building.

That guy was an insider patsy.

The only way to beat insurgents is the William Tecumseh Sherman method. Modern generals shy away from such tactics. You come in and kill everything, burn everything, salt farm land, pollute rivers, and tear up infrastructure as you go. Scortched earth. If you have the stomach for it you can win.

[–]Canbot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

The insurgents would simply move.

[–]IkeConn 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Only if you wait too long to kill them.

[–]Canbot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

If it's that easy then why not just kill them without the scorched earth method? That becomes a waste of time.

[–]IkeConn 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

We don't have the guts to use autonomous killer bomb drones capable of targeting humans yet.

We literally do use drones with smart bombs and they mostly kill women and children.

They are, however, far more capable than little quadcopters.

The purpose is not to win the war. The purpose is to sustain the the war to justify the ever increasing need for even more military funding. Rinse and repeat.
