Yes, but no one tried to annex them, like Russia did with Crimea.

How much do you know about Republika Srpska? Or Kosovo?

I know that back in the 1990s, the Communist Yugoslavia fell apart. Which kicked off a series of civil wars in the Balkans, as different ethnic groups formed their own republics. At one point, NATO got involved, but not because they wanted to annex any territory for themselves or create puppet states, like Russia has done with Ukraine or South Ossetia.

So the comparison just doesn't work when describing current world events.

It seems to be a habit of yours to constantly shift the goal posts. I have seen you use this tactic in perhaps about half the posts you make. It is quite incredible to watch. That aside, it seems you really don't know much about the war. You shouldn't comment on things you do not understand.

That’s all Eurocentrists ever do. They can rationalize literally any war crime to make it look like an act of God while attacking God’s chosen people.
