Discord groups?

Anatoly Karlin has an awesome discord group: Powerful takes and an active community.

Maybe we can form a quiet discord group with little publicity?

Discord is extremely bad for private communication or political discussion.

I seem to remember that an entire group were practically all doxxed on Discord. Probably 50 or more people.

I also remember someone claiming that a private group with only four people in it was also banned. Since only those four had access to the group, Discord admins must have the ability to look even inside private groups as well.

However, I know that Joel Davis has had a very large Discord group going for a long time. So I'm not really sure what it is that gets Discord admins themselves doxxing people and or banning groups.

Even it being an antifa honeypot aside, group chats just tend to devolve into shitposting garbage, they're quite stagnating to an individual.

You make a good point. There is a tendency for low effort communication these days and chatrooms are even more vulnerable to that problem.

Depends on the size like a small intimate gc is always pretty comfy if everyone in is decent

It seems to only be good as an autist dating app

DAR members already have multiple 'quiet' spaces to converse. This isn't about being a private club where a small group of internet friends chat. DAR has always been about open debate and welcoming liberals, conservatives, communists, liberterians, etc. to debate against alt right platform ideas publicly. Our long term goal is a community as large if not larger than r/the_donald pre reddit ban. Without restriction from reddit I have no doubt we would have kept right on growing because our ideas resonate with many people. It's only when our ideas are presented by bad faith actors that people are turned off to racialism, nationalism or counter semitism. DAR is a unique collection of good faith experienced debaters that can hold their own and present dissident positions in a fair, fact based, positive way to normies. That's what scares powerful people, and that's why we are constantly under attack.

This was finished when we got quarantined on reddit tbh. After it we got some actual debate but 99% bad faith as opposed to 95% before. On saidit there are only trolls, there's not even that 1% good faith left.

It's a shame but I think if we were on a new platform we might again have access to good faith debaters. We certainly won't find anymore of them being off s/all.

I do not think there are any good platforms that are suited for DAR as it was originally intended. As you said, it was meant to be a public debate platform where people of every political persuasion could go and talk. This worked well on 2016 Reddit, but today online platforms have a clear political character. Mainstream platforms like Reddit uphold a strict liberalism and purge all dissent, and anti-liberal groups hold their discussions on alt tech platforms. There is no space for DAR in this. Personally, I do not see any benefit in being listed on s/all anyway, because the vast majority of users on this website are either TERFs or conspiracy theorists.

And as such we need to have a bulletproof rendezvous, one to emigrate onto a better trafficked forum than saidit.

I guess Gab might be a good alternative. It has several million users and I think you can form GAB groups. At the very least, we can have an ecosystem with each of our own Gab accounts (like a twitter space). Roosh V for example gets a lot of interaction. The people on GAB are largely Trump conservatives. They're adjacent to DAR views and can be easily converted. Its much more productive to try to convert them than to court leftists and cuckservatives.

I don't know much about GAB. Is there any part of the site that looks like saidit or reddit with up and down voting?

[–]shilldetector 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Is upvoting and downvoting that important? I never really understood the appeal of it. Getting rid of downvoting here certainly seems to be an improvement over reddit.

It seems like a blend of fb and twitter to me. The groups are like old school rw fb groups pretty comfy

At this point all this sub really is, is a like minded online group. As Markimus said the days of engaging shitlibs in honest debate are long gone, if they ever even existed.

[–]ifuckredditsnitches_Resident Pajeet 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything wrong with that honestly, gives a little morale boost. What people should eventually establish is small cells of like minded individuals irl. Nothing big, just a group of 2-5 people of the same worldview that gathers together and anything further is up to you.

This morning I was reading about the various fights that the right lost all through the 60s. Even back then honest debate was impossible.
