I think they will call his bluff.

Russia could invade them at any second, in which case, why leave yourself defenseless vs joining a pact?

Boomer Putin has also made it clear he wants the Russian Empire back, in which case, the choice looks even more obvious.

Regardless, both sides need to calm down. If we all die, it will be another billion years before an intelligent ape evolves again.

Russia could have invaded them any second for many decades. They avoided that fate precisely because they remained neutral and avoided antagonizing the Russians. So the logical takeaway is that threatening to join Nato when you live next to Russia is a risky proposition and should be avoided unless you actually want to be invaded.

Regardless, both sides need to calm down. If we all die, it will be another billion years before an intelligent ape evolves again.

I agree. But the reality is that the Neocons have been increasingly antagonizing Russia for several years now. Ever since they wrecked the middle east for Israel and realized it was time to move on to other parts of the globe that might oppose Jewish global hegemony. This mess now is a direct result of the Neocons not facing accountability on Iraq. These people should have been blacklisted, deplatformed and tried for treason/warcrimes. Instead they just lied low during the Obama years and then rebranded themselves during the rise of Trump, and now like a bad case of herpes they're baaaaaack.

The issue I have is all this anger is being misdirected.

I prefer to not see NATO expand, as Russia rightfully feels threatened by this. But how is gunning down Ukrainian civilians in the streets suppose to solve any of this or remotely right the wrongs of yesterday?

There where a million other options Russia could have taken. Maybe even launching cyber attacks against the world bank or paying off some separatist group in America. But going straight for the war option, while threatening anyone with nukes is just asking for bad stuff to happen.

Because he has now given up listening to all facts & reason.

All the NATO talk now is junk.

Putin has said he thinks the Ukraine shouldn't exist as a country and the land belongs to Russia.

That's it.

It isn't more complicated than that.

There's lots of countries in the world who would take bits of their neighbours if they thought they could just due to historical stuff. It's hardly unusual.

People are dying in the streets right now, I'd say it's a lot more complicated.

Regardless I never really wanted to take sides in conflicts, but a head of state unilaterally erasing another nation's right to exist goes against morality. Sure, we could all go back to a "might is right" world of yesteryear, or we could just learn to respect borders and go about our lives.

There's lots of countries in the world who would take bits of their neighbours if they thought they could just due to historical stuff. It's hardly unusual.

They need to bury it in the past. It's like the Native Indians whining why does America or Canada exist? It's too expensive to dismantle these countries just so these Indians can go back to living in teepees and ironically enough, they enslaved each other.

Why do you think because people are dying the reason has to be complicated? The world is harsh and unfair, talking over and over about it won't change reality. Maybe it could help you hide from the fact a billionaire thousands of miles away could choose to end your life at anytime for no good reason without knowing anything about you.

The situation on the ground might be complex but that's not what we're talking about.

Russia are hypocrites then, since Putin has been rambling for months about why he thinks Ukraine doesn't exist, why they're "Nazis" and why he now feels entitled to wipe them off the map. If he didn't want to complicate matters, why not do a full invasion back in 2014 without any questions?

The world is harsh and unfair, talking over and over about it won't change reality.

The latter is true, but then be prepared for the consequences of bringing back the "might is right" instead of following the rule of law. It now means your neighbors have free reign to take your stuff, and if you can't resist, that's the end.

And even those elites who think they're all big and powerful are really just being controlled by the archons who laugh at our suffering. If the elites weren't easy to control the archons wouldn't let them have that power in the first place.

Maybe even launching cyber attacks ............. or paying off some separatist group in America.

This is and has been going on for a while now.

I think they will call his bluff.

After he invaded Ukraine?

What does it say when he tells other sovereign countries which organizations they're allowed to be part of?

I hate to pick sides, but a pariah nation that keeps invading its neighbors never lasts long.

NATO is suppose to be over. It has way over extended its stay. It is a criminal organization.

Fuck Putin. Fuck the guy. I’m not on his team.

But really fuck NATO.

If Putin gets rid of nato, that would be great for all of us.

And NATO is no longer suppose to exist. All this talk and no one speaking has any place to speak. You all don’t know shit.

And you especially don’t know anything about NATO.

Boomer Putin

Boomers are for empire building as it is widely known.

The Old Men and Women at the top, are completely out of touch with the younger generations below them. And as a result, they rule with an iron fist and make our lives miserable.

Case and point, it's Boomers who still desperately defend "we're all the same race", because they grew up thinking Martin Luther King Jr was the good guy, but Apartheid South Africa was evil.

I can't wait for when this spoiled generation finally retires, and we get new blood instead.

Putin should just openly threaten with nukes. The West will break.

The Russians don't really care that much for Finland

[–]ifuckredditsnitches_Resident Pajeet 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I doubt that those countries will be invaded but maybe they'll turn up the heat on the Finnish border and bring back some old memories. I saw this one prediction that other than war in Ukraine Russia may end up stationing their troops in favorable countries and build bases around the world. Taking after America's example in a way. They may even station troops in Venezuela and Cuba which would certainly be interesting.

Sweden has enough Muslims to send their own home grown Islamic suicide bombers at Russia.
