Portland is a weird place. There are people from all walks of life living there. Liberal normies, liberal weirdos, conservative farmers from the surrounding areas, retired gang members from 80's California, heat-wave migrants from Arizona trying to escape the desert, wannabe musicians from the Midwest galore, and lots of homeless folk. More homeless than I've ever seen anywhere, except for parts of California and Florida which were basically bum-towns.

Portland must be a favorite testing site for the elite. There are a lot of demographics represented in the Portland populace.

I really miss Lowami, a specific area/park. Caught right in the suburbs, a patch of old forest and running water. It's too bad Portland is a hotspot for weirdos and idealogical bootlickers. I enjoyed my time there.

Interesting. I didn't realise that Portland had a homeless problem too, I was under the impression that it was a successful, white collar, middle class city.

The homeless problem in portland is epic. Ive never seen so many tents in my life. Also, downtown is full of drug addicts roaming around like zombies.

It is full of middle class white collar folk who can be described as being "successful". I worked for some awesome dog breeders out there, and I lived with a tech guru.

It's just also a youth hotspot, so there are tons of apartments full of drug-riddled twenty-somethings, neighborhoods slowly losing their value, and I think there are laws that protect the homeless, so that is why there are so many there.

Also, they built that city right next to a volcano that hasn't gone off. I can't understand it, even though Mt. Hood is gorgeous and it looms over the city.

That probably explains the prevalence of anarchism there, then.

I would think so, and all of the old retired gang members. I didn't realize this at first, but they are successfully running legal weed out of the state to the Midwest. They hire you g kids from the streets to work for them, and they come away from the experience even more liberal than before, but also with a fighting anti-lawman attitude. There was a lot of that going on with the kids I knew.

That's really surprising. It is honestly easy to underestimate the impact of crime on issues like this and on the social fabric.
