"Someone could be attracted to people so rarely that gay, straight, or bi are labels that don't really fit." We used to just call that "picky". But yeah sure now it's a sexuality.

I love this person's reply:

Super true. I'm a vegan but I still eat meat regularly. It doesn't make me not a vegan

[–]LyingSpirit472 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

Exactly. As a kosher vegan, I can enjoy this viewpoint while I eat my delicious homemade carnitas burritos with extra cheese.

Asexuals . . . a topic I still can't be bothered to care about.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

Anyone who is "actually asexual" also wouldn't be bothered to care either.

I can buy the idea that someone has such a low libido they experience zero sexual attraction. And I can buy the idea that someone with no libido who doesn't want sex ever still wants to be in a romantic relationship. (Many women are like this I think).

Is that something to celebrate though?

Personally I find sex itself to be rather boring and quite low on my list of priorities but I don't need a flag and an identity to broadcast to the world what really is nobodies business but my own.

[–]Wanderingthehalls 5 insightful - 5 fun5 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 5 fun -  (4 children)

I'm about the opposite. I would say I have a reasonably high sex drive but at this point in my life I have no interest in pursuing a relationship. And casual sex currently has less appeal than deep cleaning the kitchen cupboards because I know only one of the above will leave me with a lasting sense of satisfaction.

Do I get a special label and flag?

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 4 insightful - 4 fun4 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

Yes. I dub thee, Sir Libidos Lavabit Culina. Your flag depicts a homo erectus holding a kitchen in one hand and broom in the other. Go ye therefore and live your true self! Slaying dirt from all kitchens of rich and poor alike regardless of permission and so called trespassing laws. Huzzah.

Yes. Aromantic.

I'm not kidding.

Well, in my case I have an outrageously high libido...but not for having sex.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 3 insightful - 5 fun3 insightful - 4 fun4 insightful - 5 fun -  (4 children)

But the real question is are your pronouns 凸 or 凹. Since you know that's the most important thing to know about someone you've just met.

My pronouns are ∞ and 卍 because why not?

[–]Vulptexghost fox girl ^w^ 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I refuse to do pronouns.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 4 insightful - 7 fun4 insightful - 6 fun5 insightful - 7 fun -  (2 children)

But you started your sentence with a pronoun?

Why are you not pronoun? Are you one of those anti-noun bigots? Or worse one of those Adverbs?

You see the supporting comments, it's kids sitting around describing their "sexuality" like they were pokemon trading cards. It's what my niece and her friends used to do when they were in highschool.

This why LGBT ideology doesn't belong in schools.

They're likely all just normal young people.

That reminds me back when I was in college there was this really weird lesbian that always wore a Pikachu hoodie and refused to speak human only communicating in Pikachu noises. Like half the gay people I knew in college were total wankers like that. I always figured they were identifying as gay ass whatever because that lot was fairly accepting of the weirdos to try to eaque out some semblance of a social life to make up for their lack of personality or inability to comprehend basic social norms and why coming out of the gate to new acquaintance about your love of sucking dick might not be your best move to make friends and influence people.

Anyone else hear "asexual" and just automatically translate that to "I'm an unfuckable chud, so I give myself a special label to make the rejection my choice instead of theirs."

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Usually I equate asexual with "I'm a woman who was sexually abused and as a result have PTSD when it comes to intimacy" or "I'm a man that was bullied relentlessly for not being a jock and need some kind of identity to hide behind because I've not yet become comfortable just being me".

[–]FourteenDigitz 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nope, that sounds way too specific to not be projection lmao

[–]slavdude0 2 insightful - 6 fun2 insightful - 5 fun3 insightful - 6 fun -  (2 children)

Preach! I'm an asexual gay man. I can't stand sex with other males, so I only do it with females.

Weird YouTube artist from Arizona.

I live in the Internet.

Depressed • Grey Ace Pan • she/her

So many ways to say that you have no personality.

Arizona has its share of internet weirdos. TBF it is too hot to do anything there besides lay around. And too many Mormons ensure a very boring nightlife.

Pfft, come on out to the South, enjoy our humidity that makes the air so fucking thick you can drink it instead of breathe it. It'll give a whole new appreciation for Arizona's pleasant dryness :D.

Sure most of the time yes. 90 in Phoenix ain't that bad compared to 90 in Houston.

But if you're trying to tell me you prefer 125 and dry over 90 and wet, you've clearly not experienced 125.

[–]LordoftheFliesAmeri-kin 2.0. Pronouns: MegaWhite/SuperStraight/UltraPatriarchy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Actually, I have! I used to live in California, right next to the Mojave. It wasn't exactly fun times, but I still prefer the dry heat because it's easier to breathe and it's not turning my jock and ass into a fetid meatswamp.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

To each their own. I don't like the heat but I'll take a humid swamp over Mojave death weather any day.

If you're a fan of humidity then you'd love the Canadian East coast. Wet cold in the winter that no amount of sweaters or snowsuits can ever defeat. That translates to about 9 months of the chills out of every year. 🥶

The depression probably has a lot to do with the asexuality.

Asexuality: When you watch too much porn and have no idea how real sexual attraction works.

[–]Athelhilda4 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It’s more like: “I tolerate having sex and pretend to enjoy it for my partner, who will leave me if I don’t “compromise” and let them do what they want with my body. Please ignore how incredibly fucked up my relationship is.”

I find it funny that he talks about rarely finding love, while he is probably 16 year old, he didn't even have the time to set up such statistics.

[–]Femaleisnthateful 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I know a woman who claims to be asexual. She's obese and talks about nothing but video games. It's a real mystery.
