honestly i am glad he's getting hate because it's going to peak more people like it did with JK Rowling. hopefully eddie realizes that there is no in between, you either have to support the trans movement 100% without question or you are a horrible terf.

It makes me so mad about Evanna. She's pretty vocal about how JK Rowling basically saved her life. Of course she's going to defend the woman who gave her a will to live over the feelings of some dudes online, for fuck's sake. I hope she's okay.

People already know this. Anyone who isn't some out-of-touch retiree knows that if they are at all vocal about this issue it will be problematic for their career if not personal life. I've challenged a few people who deny this to post the forbidden things on their social media accounts with their jobs in their bio (spoiler: nobody has actually followed through).

Seriously, I am so tired of people pretending there's not this roving gang online that just goes around to fuck with people who happen to disagree with them on a topic.

This is an interesting concept. I was just listening to an interview about something similar to this. They were talking about a certain black author who was causing some backlash on Twitter for calling something racist. Basically that they have created a binary of opinion where something is either antiracist or racist. He legitimately believes that "not racist" doesn't exist as a category. That is a problem but the bigger problem is that he assumes that he gets to decide what constitutes antiracist as a definition and so anyone who doesn't fall directly inside his narrow definition of antiracism is racist "by definition" .

I don't want to call this "the left" because this type of authoritarianism is right wing politically. It's more like extremist social or cultural liberalism. It's amazing how well that story aligns with this story. If you don't align with the gender religion mob then you are a Nazi. They don't let you have a neutral or moderate position.

I need to go think about the connection.

Stephen King is a monumental ass but he's in the same realm as Rowling. He's un-cancelable at this point. I wish I had never followed him on twitter. Seeing how he is as a person ruined so many great books for me. And no I'm not talking about the airport lounge horror stories.

What annoys me the most is the double standard. People spend days mocking her. And it works, because she's an easy target, any meme mocking her gets lots of shares nowadays.

But at least here in my country I've seen many examples on Twitter of gay men trying to criticize some artists/influencers for their homophobia... and then you keep seeing threads criticizing the gay men for "cancel culture", for being elitist, etc.

Underrated comment. I'm constantly surprised at people's willingness to just accept whatever their friend group /favorite newspaper/political party/religion/whatever tell them without learning about it directly for themselves.

edit: and judging according to their own values. You have to have your own values in order to do that, though.

So, they just admitted what truly matters to them. It's not the acceptance, he accepts transwomen as women and -men as men. It's not respect, he respected them. It's not inclusion, he's worked with them.

No, they are not satisfied unless you submit completely and go along with screeching empty hate and less-empty threats at anyone who disagrees, especially women. "You must hate or you're against us".
