    Some of them apparently are that homophobic, at least according to the recent BBC report.

    We did have a lot of families and parents who would actively tell us that, "oh, I'm so glad at least my child is not gay or lesbian," implying that having a trans outcome would be better for their children.

    They might be thinking if their child can fully "pass" one day that it'll be easier to "hide" than a child in a same sex relationship.

    I think that is also part of the woke cult. Being trans is higher on the ladder than just plain old gay; your kid is ONLY gay or lesbian, how passe'. The people that are ok with their kids being gay are going to be super excited that their kid is trans. They'll be the awesome parents of they/them and brag about how well they/them is doing with all of their newfound interests, friends, etc.

    Also, how many of these parents absolutely fear being called transphobic if they question their kid being trans ? You have to take that into account when discerning their motives.

    Some people are definitely on the woke train, but for others this sentiment seems to be about pure homophobia. The report mentioned that homophobia came up in all of the interviews. And this is in England, which is arguably much less homophobic than the United States.

    Lesbians still get LOTS of shit in schools and are usually found at the bottom of the social hierarchy.

    In this day and age, becoming trans or enby is a means of upward social mobility for a lot of young lesbians. They go from picked on or ignored, to the most popular kid in school...

    Transing kids isn't just a woke cult phenomenon though, its also popular with a certain kind of far right homophobe.     In some islam countries it is same, if person is gay, there only two ways - execution of couple or one of them becoming a trans.

    And now it is on West. As lesbian it disgust me.

    Think of the cultures that have third genders. Not exactly known for their feminism or their acceptance of homosexuality. Or heterosexuality for that matter. Many of them treat women as incubators and don’t believe women’s pleasure should be encouraged not to mention have an entire culture built around shaming women for their existence. The fact that here in the woke west they have decided to repackage this anti female rhetoric as progressive is unbelievable.

    According to the reporting of staff concerns about the NHS GIDS, parents, not all but enough to be concerned about, were definitely homophobic with some expressing a preference for having a trans child (who would then be "straight") rather than a gay child.
