I think they have a place in LGBT because there's a lot of stigma attached to being ace. I mean, we're basically in a heteronormative society where we're expected to mate with the opposite sex. It's a tad bit ridiculous that now, according to their asexuality spectrum thingy, basically everyone is ace, but "real" asexual ppl (those who have no desire to have sex, not the ones who fuck every night but say they're ace because there's no "attraction") belong in LGBT, imo. Even more if they have a same sex partner.
I agree with you that lots of ppl nowadays think they're ace because they have a low sex drive, and society resents them for not being into sex. In my experience, as a woman with a high sex drive, I've encountered/dated a few guys with very low sex drives tbh, so I don't think it's necessarily a gendered thing. The problem with asexuality is that it's full of cishet quirky trenders who want to "belong" and think that not wanting to fuck every night= asexual. I think "real" ace ppl are pretty rare but they exist. Stuff like demisexual and ace spectrum are nonsense tho

How the actual fuck did AHS gain so much power ? I've visited it out of curiosity, and man this is where the real hatred takes place. It's like a fucking cult. Most of their members are actively brigading subs they deem "hateful". Isn't that against Reddit's global rules ?
Femboy hooters on saidit when? by Tortoise in LGBT
I've read somewhere that the brain isn't fully developed before you turn 25. I think that if 18 yo want to go on HRT and transition, they should be allowed to, but I'm 25 and tbh my way of seeing the world and myself has drastically changed in comparison to when I was 18.
The "egg" culture is really toxic, because basically every person who questions their gender according to them is trans. I 200% support trans rights, but it should be the person's decision to transition. Ppl can be trans, but also non binary, gender non conforming, a feminine boy, a masculine girl,... Trans culture is more and more popular online, and it's possible some very young ppl might want to alter their body at 13 but will completely change their minds 4 years after. I think a bit of gatekeeping is necessary here, I mean, just look at Sweden, there has been an explosion of gender dysphoria cases recently

I disagree. Asexuality definitely exists. I don't think it's a "spectrum" like the asexual community likes to pretend, but there are legit people out there that don't feel sexual attraction. What I think is stupid is stuff like demisexual, that is basically waiting til you know the person to have sex. Shouldn't be a "sexual orientation" tbh

Does the sex/gender thing exist in other languages besides English? by [deleted] in Gender_Critical
Do you mean, if a word is "masculin ou féminin"? Like, in English it's always "the" but in French we have "le" (masculin) and "la" (féminin). Like, it's "the book" ("le livre", masculin) and the door ("la porte", féminin).
There isn't another word, it's "le genre grammatical"
We also use "genre" to say "that kind". "Ce genre de livres"= "that kind of books".
I have no idea tbh. I think it might be older than I think, because I was already taught the difference between the 2 words like 10 years ago (I'm 25 now) but in recent years we've talked about it more and more.
"Sexe" and "genre". Used to be said without distinction before tho

The jobless TRA at AHS are now targeting r/Radical_Feminists by [deleted] in GenderCritical
And you're right, it shouldn't be banned. I'm against all sorts of censorship.
Yes ? It wasn't relevant to the discussion. It was just used to discredit me, like TRA do when they dig up what they deem "terfy" stuff in your post history. I love how you ignore that it's literally my profile from another platform that was linked also. Let's encourage doxxing while we're at it.
Anyway I'm done here don't worry, I ain't interested in discussing in another echo chamber with children. Feel free to ban me. Really thought you girls were better than r/actuallesbians's methods. I literally got upvoted when I denounce it from them, but when it's from a GC person it's actually okay.

I posted a thread about AHS wanting to ban r/Radical_Feminists, and someone on here decided to post a link to my reddit's profile to discredit me basically (I have sympathy for the gender critical approach, but I'm not on board with everything honestly). A lot of women were condoning this childish behaviour, so I don't feel safe posting there anymore. Even if I disagree with some of their stuff, I literally never tried to "debate" or give my opinion, because it's not a debate sub, but if I respect their opinions, I want to be respected as well and I don't want my other profiles linked. They have a very narrow minded vision of the world, no nuances is allowed, that reminds me too much of reddit. They're mad at TRA for going through post history to find terfy stuff, but apparently it's okay if it's a GC girl lol
I have some criticizing towards the trans community, but I'm more interested in the "abolish gender stereotypes" part of GC tbh
Okay, I'm done here, you obviously condone those childish behaviours and are no better than some TRA
I was obviously talking about the "linking to someone's profile on other platforms" attitude.

I think I will be interested in joining, not really a fan of some of the culture at GenderCritical atm.
I'm aware of the debate sub, I've already joined it, but thanks for reminding me about it.
I won't because it's not my thing to do that. I would have preferred censorshipment to DM me about it if she was upset with my post, since I know her from my sub and thought she didn't like those kinds of methods either. I interact with ppl about the comment they just posted, I engage with the comment, not with the person's post history. I don't have the time nor interest to dig up the post history of every user I interact with online. Those remind me of actuallesbians's methods, which are frowned upon when it's done by TRA, but apparently okay for some if it's a GC member...
I just dislike this sort of attitude. Feel free to agree with those sorts of methods. But those are exactly why I left reddit, it doesn't sit right with me, and I have a right to complain. If your Instagram username was the same as your Saidit's username, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like me to link it lol
[–]Wrencer 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun - 3 years ago* (0 children)
I'm literally the OP of this thread. How is my post a "debate" one ? I was just trying to tell ppl on here that a radfem sub is targeted by AHS. How is my opinion on other stuff relevant here ? It's not like I have an hidden agenda and have posted "debatable" stuff on this sub anyway. Would you like me to post a link to a comment you made on another platform, and discredit your opinion on other issues for it? These are literally the extreme TRA you dislike that much methods btw. No nuanced opinions allowed
That doesn't make it okay to link it lol
Mocking "aromantic" ppl lol
Instead of focusing on my reddit's profile, maybe we could, idk, support the girls at r/Radical_Feminists against censorship ?
Edit : no need to send me more vitriol about my reddit's post history, or to send me comments about how posting ppl's profiles on other platforms on a totally irrelevant thread is totally valid, I have no time in having petty fights with children who condone such methods. Sorry if ppl having nuanced opinions trigger some of you so much
Yeah, I was just trying to explain that I have my place here even though my opinions are nuanced. I'm not the only one here in a "grey" area. I don't attack anyone on their opinions here, but I expect not to be attacked for mine either. Especially when said opinions take place on other platforms.
I don't need the approval of Reddit's woke censorship mob, but I honestly don't care about the approval of some women here who think I "contradict" myself because my vision of the world isn't black and white either. I'd rather stick with the mature and reasonable women, and I know there are plenty here. You're 100% right about ignoring children
Don't you think it would be hella counterproductive for reddit to ban a radical feminist sub for "transphobia" again? Some radfems aren't GC, they are allowed to have a space on reddit without being banned for being radfems (even if I saw some GC content on that sub too that could explain a future ban)
Fuck censorship really

I left reddit to avoid the very black or white stance there about feminism/LGBT issues debates. Turns out we ain't allowed to debate on saidit either, and to be "moderate" and have "grey, in between" opinions. It's either "pick a side" or get mocked, or considered an "hypocrite" or "contradicting yourself". No place for nuances anymore on online forums.
Echo chambers and digging up reddit drama are invading saidit. It's all about agreeing with the majority opinion or fucking off. We should be allowed to participate in spaces without having to 100% conform to said spaces' majority opinion. If you wanna do that and don't support contradiction, just open a fucking private groupchat and not an open forum on a free speech platform
You say you like me, but it's really tough love then 😂😂
Her. And not really lol. I'm just in between opinions and I'm not the only one
The fact is that this whole situation is way more complicated than "trans women are women therefore they should be considered the same as cis women and share every space with them" (and I thought you agree with that, since you were on r/uncensoredLGBT). I used to think that, then I decided to listen to some GC girls I talk with on reddit, and there are some issues cis women need to stand for. In my comments on LesbianActually, you can see that I'm fighting the users who say that "not dating trans women is transphobic". I'm also against pushing gender non conforming ppl to transition, and to guilt lesbians into liking "girldick". I also think that some trans women have a very misogynistic vision of womanhood. As you can see on my posts on r/truebisexuals, which don't make me very popular among TRA.
I like you and your comments on r/uncensoredLGBT always made me laugh, and I value your opinion as an older feminist and LGBT woman, but tbh GC isn't only about criticizing trans ppl. There are posts on here about marriage, gender stereotypes, ... I can support trans ppl and still be against gender stereotypes and in favor of cis women to have their own spaces sometimes.
I didn't agree with drop the T, right wing LGBT, true lesbians and all that stuff, but I deplore any censorship. Reddit is deeply misogynistic
I agree with Buck Angel on most points, but I don't consider myself a TRA, but a feminist and LGBT and pro LGBT woman. Do you really think I'm allowed on r/lgbt, r/bisexual and all that stuff after I posted some of my controversial opinions (not even about trans ppl)?
I will not use the term "terf" in the future tho, and I'm sorry if it hurt you or anyone on here, even if I don't consider that being a trans rights activist or a trans exclusionary radical feminist are bad things. I respect radfems and some of them are entitled to exclude trans women from their vision of feminism if they want to imo.
Also, if there are no ppl like me there is no point in having a GCdebateQT sub lmao. Considering that I got upvoted, I'm probably not the only "terfy TRA" here

They're not mutually exclusive. Everything isn't black and white you know. There are nuances about this, and I thought you girls were better than TRA who only allow one opinion. Many ppl aren't either a "terf" nor a TRA... You can support trans ppl and not want them to be assaulted/treated like shit, and still criticize some parts of the trans community. I ended up on GC spaces for being banned from most LGBT and feminist subs for my opinions btw, so I ain't a "double agent" or whatever your comment implies. I just completely dislike echo chambers when nuances totally disappeared from debates. Going through ppl's post history are literally TRA methods btw 🙄
Being critical of gender is not only about trans ppl you know. I could be a TRA (even if I'm very far from it, and a lot of them dislike me) and still participate in the threads that criticize marriage, gender stereotypes, ... I'm glad that most girls are nice and don't try to force their opinions on me tho
[–]Wrencer 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun - 3 years ago* (0 children)
Nah, I support most trans ppl but I was never a "TRA" and I'm allowed to criticize some parts of the trans movement I disagree with. There are nuances in this whole debate lol I don't agree with some stuff on here either, but some threads are interesting, and I like knowing the 2 sides of the debate. My sub got banned for "transphobia" btw. I thought GC spaces allowed debates and slightly dissenting opinions, unlike regular feminist spaces. At least it was like that on r/truebisexuals.
Also, kinda funny you of all ppl attacked me, since you were often participating on my sub. Did I disagree with most of the opinions you posted ? Yes. Did I ever censor you for having such opinions ? No. Going through my post history is kinda a TRA's thing to do btw, and I'm a bit disappointed by you tbh, thought you were kind and tolerant of other points of view. You know damn well that I'm "moderate" on the trans question. Why do you think I was on r/uncensoredLGBT ? Because my criticizing of trans ppl among other opinions on some of my posts got me banned from most spaces. I don't criticize ppl on here's opinions, but I'm allowed to participate in threads I found interesting without being totally on board with the majority. Am I still allowed to have nuances in my opinions, or do you want this to turn into a reverse TRA echo chamber?
