Both:What's with all the disappearing threads that didn't go as OPs who are QT expected?

Two recent threads to which I and many other posters made thoughtful, informed and illuminating contributions have suddenly disappeared. I suspect this is because the threads didn't go the way the OPs expected.

One was titled For GC: what makes someone trans?

The other was, For people who think bathrooms should be segregated by birth sex, are passing trans men entitled to use the women's bathroom?

Is there any way to stop threads, and all the intelligent input contributed by many different posters, from getting zapped and exiled to the memory-hole?

Yeah, this thread seems to have run out its course. I'll remain blocked unless the other mods decide to show up to mod it.

    Mild criticism of you is a wild giant tantrum? If we’re so sad with our big dumb arguments why not make a decent point that refutes a single one instead of screaming ‘sauce!? Sauce please!?’ When someone says rape hurts a woman?

    Why do you need answers and sources so badly for something you think is so stupid?

    Why are you still posting here like you want a last word or some zinger if we’re all so dumb and wrong? Surely you’d just wow us with your intellect and then run back to your fellow brainiacs on r/traaaaaaaaans.

    Your inability to adapt to a forum outside of Reddit and refusal to read what we say before asking silly questions means we are sad and wrong? 👍🏻 Checks out. We are wrong about sexed segregation and you’ve proven it by ignoring our arguments and calling it a circlejerk. Good one man, sure showed us.

      You’re more than welcome to, just engage with intellectual honesty and don’t take a community that does not coddle, so personally.

      I asked why you’re posting if you think we’re so dumb and wrong, that does not imply you can’t post here. It asks why you want to post to people you think are stupid and circle jerking.

      You're welcome to participate here. However, even though we are a small sub most users here are GC. So, you'll have to expect pushback over your views on this topic, certainly more pushback than what you are likely used to on other internet spaces. It'd be good to if you answered our questions back, too.

        I never told you to stop replying questions or that you threads were not fit for the sub other the one about the fun button. Unless yours threads are deleted or I or the other mods explicitly tell you that they are inappropriate while speaking as mods, they are fine.

        The only tantrum I see here is the one you're throwing.

        For the millionth time: I only deleted two posts that were more clarifying questions rather than debate questions because I was told by multiple people (including a mod) to stick to debating. I genuinely thought I was doing what people wanted.

        The two threads you deleted might have been started by you, but they ended up being not all about you and your views - or even mainly about you and your input. Many posters were engaging with one another on those threads, not with you. A number of posters had little or no direct interaction with you at all, in fact.

        The views, arguments, factual information posted on those threads that made the threads interesting and illuminating were all made by other people, not by you. But you unilaterally decided to put an end to the discussions different people were having by taking the entire threads down. I believe you did this to shut other posters up, and to remove the views, information and facts we posted on those threads from public view.

        But hey, have at it with the phony baloney claim that you really were acting selflessly and for a noble purpose, promoting community spirit and regard for others by considerately and compassionately "doing what people wanted." Funny, that sounds a lot like "you asked for it" and "you made me do it!"

          It's for discussion, too, not just debate! This is such a small sub as it is, and I personally am happy to have any QT participation.

          you cant tell me to stick to debate and then get upset when I delete my posts that werent strictly debate questions and then circlejerk with each other about how dumb or sensitive I am.

          No one called you dumb or said you were too sensitive. People challenged you because you weren't offering your views, just being goady and contrarian.

          Also, your use of the term "circlejerk" will definitely strike others here as indicative of your sex and sensibility.

          Please reinstate the threads you deleted. Thank you.

          The only thread that was not appropriate was the one about the fun button, which I deleted since I didn't think there was much to discuss there. The other threads were fine by the sub rules. I found odd you asked us what makes someone "trans" but I answered the question anyway.

          Both threads were made by the same user and said user deleted them because, I guess, they didn't like our tone. You can find and access those threads thread by diging through the comments tab or through your posting history. Unfortunately, there is easy way to find them anymore.

          I get your annoyance. That was one of the many things it bothered me about our resident spammer. I spent a lot of time writing explanations about what sex is that were easy to understand and looking up free and reliable online sources. And they just deleted them after a while so we didn't notice those threads were written by the same person sooner.

          I think it was more than our tone that was the issue. It was the factual information posted by many parties.

          Is it okay if I start a thread for posters to re-post material that got deleted which we think are of value?

          I am QT and didn't notice the threads were deleted until I saw this thread. I wondered why people weren't replying to my comments but I assumed people were tired of discussing with me. Anyway, I'm disappointed those threads were deleted. We had some interesting discussions.
