The difference is that none of these are used as excuses for murder. No one is saying "whoops i was drunk and killed a guy! Please don't give me jail" and actually getting away with it, unlike "sex gone wrong".

I don't say that you should stop doing what you want or whatever, just have the backbone to admit that the shit you're into is not just "harmless fun with no bad things in it at all".

I got the opposite message actually - that even in circumstances that should make long lasting love absolutely impossible (like Heloise's forced marriage) it is still more than possible.

After years of marriage and having actual children Heloise still cries when remembering Marianne. She still holds her in her memory, never letting go and even having the page "28" in her other portrait - something that can be likened to a sort of homage that only she'd understand the meaning of. She still remembers and loves Marianne - if that's not longlasting love, then what is? Tragic, certainly, but also longlasting.

When the thing you're into is used as an excuse for murder in the court of law (all those "sex gone wrong" scenarios which are most obviously murders and which so many times end up with the murderer getting away) and when it can cause permanent brain damage (from asphyxiation - choking, very common practice ecen though it's one of the MOST dangerous) that would be the time where you should ask yourself if you're actually in the wrong.

Yeah that's not true. It's a matter of opinion, and there are people who think that behavioural differences are because of socialisation only, and also some people who are radfem that think that some behavioural differences are innate (for examples, i heard many that argued that men are inherently more violent than women regardless of socialisation - that is an innate behavioural difference that is true amongst all cultures, all countries and all economic statuses).

As for physical differences i NEVER heard any radfem arguing that there aren't physical differences (that's the whole reason of us having a problem with males in our spaces, from bathrooms to sports).

Tldr we're not a hivemind.

Some even give them a pass as a form of retaliation ("let the men see what it's like"), accepting the consequences this has for the gay community and ignoring the fact that we already do know "what it's like".

To be all that honest, from what I've seen most just hope that more people will take this issue seriously when men will also be (widely) affected. It's in the sense of "oh I can't wait until heterosexual men have to deal with these people too so they finally get pushback". Is it shitty? Kinda sorta - but it's not from contempt (from most, anyway).

I find this whole "brain sex" discussion wholly redundant - even if female and male brains are slightly different, do we even know how that influences behaviour? IF that influences behaviour? We can't figure out treating widespread mental illnesses and we're here talking about the brain sex gender woo woo feelings? We don't know nearly enough about the brain to come to conclusions on why brain sex differences would even be important, so what is even the point in discussing this? The more this spreads, the less support they'll have. The only reason why TRAs are unchallenged is because most people can't be half assed to give a shit about their existence. Apathy and silencing is their only advantage - when you force people out of their apathy, and when you "cancel" so many people that the word loses it's power (happened to "nazi"- tell me, when you hear someone call another person a nazi, do you imagine a genuine Hitler-loving neo-nazi, or just a run of the mill right winger?) then you've shot yourself in the foot. The Tavistock scandal is just the beginning and the drop in LGBT acceptance (GLAAD survey) will be fuel for the fire. The saddest part is that the LGB (and probably feminists too) will be associated with this madness also. If it weren't for that simple fact I'd be more than glad to watch them self destruct.

Same BS that is spewed against lesbians but afaik in a milder form (I may be wrong though, I'm not a gay man) - aka "if you don't like vaginas you're transphobiiiiiccc". Same story with lesbians and the "ladydick". They're basically trying to get gay men to like vaginas and trying to get lesbians to like dick because they feel entitled to sex ("the cotton ceiling" for lesbians, and "the boxer ceiling" for gay men if you're curious enough to look for more details. This is honestly the main issue with having LGB subs invaded by TRAs). Woke incels, more or less - but at least the classic incels are upfront, they're not swinging bats in the name of Woke.

And this whole "suck my dick or you're a bigot" is the root of the problem with having TRAs invading what was supposed to be a lesbian sub. Same thing, but in reverse, seems to be happening on gay men subs, hence my previous comment.

Their hug box will die, the free speech version will thrive.

If you really think that the "free speech" version on an obscure reddit clone will survive, then you're delusional, end of. You're here to yell in the void, like the rest of us. That's why free speech is even possible here in the first place - because this site holds no potential of having an impact. Is that sad? Absolutely, but it's true - let's not delude ourselves here.

You cannot have a community of women. Every attempt to try to divine who is female or not will need to be based on the positions they hold.

It's fucking rich that you even think you can speak about Gender Critical when you seem to miss the literal main point of it all - there is no way to be a woman except being of the female sex, and an adult. There is no behaviour, no opinion, no nothing that makes you female except being born female. And that is why gender in itself is bullshit. There is no way to "divine the female" - it is a biological category.

What the fuck does it mean for an opinion to be "high on the pyramid of debate"?

It's the literal rules of saidit, idiot. You keep parroting about how great this site is for free speech when you seem to not have even read the rules. This pyramid of debate thing isn't our invention, you genius - take that to magnora if you don't like the rule.

What is a "SavvyDiogenes", by the way? Is that some form of narcissism, the way you with the trans people you criticize? You do not sound savvy at all and your takes are absolutely moronic. You are everything wrong with the people you criticize. But you're so full of shit that you can't see yourself in the mirror. What a philosopher you are, truly.

If you don't see the point in choosing the name of someone who is considered the father of cynicism for an alt, the same person who'd hold a lamp in broad daylight on the streets of Athens to look for an honest man, then you're hopeless. It's not some attempt at self-aggrandizing, it's a tongue-in-cheek name meant to be over the top and ridiculous, and hinting towards cynicism (oh as if i could have made that any more obvious). But it seems like you can only see things literally, with no regards to nuance - no wonder you literally named yourself Screwtape. Should I take that name literally, too?

You are a bunch of hypocrites. Come out and say you are enforcing a party line. At least then you are honest.

What party line? Elaborate - what, you think we are in bed with the ultra leftist marxists that would love to swing bats in our faces, or with the right wing nationalists that would enjoy locking the whole female sex in the kitchen and taking away any bodily autonomy we have left? Come on, I'm curious as to what ridiculous bullshit you'll pull out of your mouth this time.

"Kevin" is a nickname for guys that are just dumb, not necessarily assholes - Karens encompasses asshole women, not dumb women per se. Which is why "Kevin" wouldn't work in this situation.

And if, in a parallel world, people would call guys Kenny everywhere in the same way Karen is used you could argue that it's misandry, if women wouldn't also get the same treatment. So yes, reverse the situation and the outcome is the same.

I don't think "claims of anti-semitism are used to silence legitimate criticism of some Jewish groups" in response to someone mentioning "anti-semitism" is the same sort of thing as trying to kill or deport a lot of Jewish people. (Just like it's not "transphobic" to say "I don't think male transgenderists are really female" and it's not "islamophobic" to say "Islamic sects usually treat women badly.")

True, that was an instance of mods trying to avoid a "hate speech" takedown, I think.

There are other examples in my comment -- a self-described third world woman whose argument against any collaboration with right-wing anything was censored without disclosure.

I read that, I agree with her and I have also said numerous times that we shouldn't collaborate with the right wing.

A woman who was censored when trying to name the groups involved in the UK grooming gangs.

Saw that too, it's probably the same thing as what the gc mods did - trying to avoid giving the AHS types a reason to shut down the sub.

I would consider "LGB dogma" to be things like the existence of a biological trait called homo/bi/heterosexuality that is always the result of healthy, normal biology and never anything else.

  1. Why should whether homo/bisexuality is a result of "healthy normal biology" even matter? Women are critical of TRAs because they are a risk to women's rights. What rights do LGB people infringe upon?

  2. Saying that homosexuality is an ideology puts lesbian women at risk - this sort of argument is what causes both the cotton ceiling and corrective rape. So yes, I could see how arguing for a belief that has caused on multiple occasions literal rape would get you banned off of a sub full of women.

If Karen wasn't sexist, there would be a male version of Karen. There are plenty of male assholes, as many as there are "Karens", but we don't have a generalised name for them, do we?

The way I see it- when we'll have Male Karen, then Karen will no longer be sexist. Until then, it's sexist simply because it's a double standard, nothing more nothing less.

Had antisemitic comments or anti-LGB comments been allowed to stay we would've been terminated 1 week after the sub's creation. And antisemitism and anti-LGB is off topic for GC, as it is a radfem sub - and off topic discussions, as per GC's rules both on saidit and the rules we had on reddit, are banned.

For example, we only bring up LGB in 3 occasions - when talking about the cotton ceiling or boxer ceiling (cotton ceiling = trans women complaining that lesbains won't sleep with them because lesbians don't like dick. Boxer ceiling is the same but for gay men and trans men), when talking about harassment lesbians(=women) may face, and yes - talking about women is on topic for a radfem sub, and when pointing out that gay men are not exempt from misogyny.

And I do not see how antisemitism could be brought up in a discussion about radfeminism. As for complaints about antisemitism - as all complaints towards the "GC community" from other GC members were allowed to stay, so were these posts. As for the complaints in the post linked - I'm sure that was just the mods trying to save their asses and the sub - the mods always tried to respect reddit's sitewide rules, and that would include removing and maybe banning those sort of opinions, regardless of the existence or lackthereof of proof.

And I saw your comment in the post - do you really think that saying that homosexuality isn't real on radfem subs (that btw, also have lesbians in them, surprise surprise) wouldn't get you banned? If I saw that comment in the wild I'd think you were just a troll. I've seen multiple comments that criticised GC posters for using right wing platforms, and I not only joined in the discussion, agreeing with them, but also reported any right wing source I've found. I wasn't banned though - I obviously would not agree with that ban. As for radfems writing articles on right wing subs - it's either no platform or a bad platform. While I can't deny that there is a certain pragmatism in choosing a platform instead of having none, I still don't agree with that approach.

I didn't even question the validity of those murders (which are questionable - as most weren't hate fuelled). The idiocy in those men and the handmaids who believe for a second that men murder TIMs because they listened to rowling or radfems is astounding - men never listened to radfems, so GC thought never "caused" a murder, not even once.

You come to a new site, isn't happy with the existing culture and wishes to form it to your own ideal even at the cost of the existing culture.

I never said that I was unhappy? And of course i said the same thing as the last guy considering that i explained what I thought he was trying to say. Your detective work is top notch.

If only this was a free speech site or even a site that advocated free speech...

"We're trying to create an environment that encourages thought-provoking discussion, like how reddit used to be 7+ years ago, when Aaron Swartz was still around." "When voting on content, please think of the Pyramid of Debate, as we aspire to the upper levels and get to the truth of what's being discussed, and to let everyone have their say." From Magnora's "welcome to saidit" post. Sounds pretty free speech to me.

And "the existing culture"? Really? Sounds pretty elitist - if encouraging saidit to have people of all ideologies and all opinions populate the site and discuss/debate with civility, and not impose an echochamber is "against the existing culture" then I'm against the existing culture. But I don't think everyone here thinks like you on this subject, so I won't claim that I'm against any aspect of saidit's "culture".

There are so many words that are "appropriated" from Greece. Hell, the prefixes meta and trans etc. ARE from the greek language, so why would it be a problem that a word describing female homosexuality is from a greek island? How can language be "appropriation" when language WORKS on appropriation! English is basically german and french appropriated and mixed.

Appropriation in language isn't a thing. Languages evolve by borrowing words from other cultures and languages and making them their own. Language without appropriation would mean that we'd still be speaking whatever indo-european language existed before Latin.

  1. A debate sub for GC will be made soon. Discussions should go there.
  2. This isn't even the official GC sub. The old mods are planning something else.

A debate sub will be made soon. You have to understand that GC has been under fire by brigaders since time immemorial and we have had some AHS/TRA guys come around and troll. So yes, for the moment comments deemed as offtopic or trolling will be removed until we can get a debate sub up and running for these sorts of interaction. Also, saidit GC isn't the official sub, the old mods seem to be planning something else. This sub may just be a temporary backup.

He means bringing other sort of people in too so it won't be flooded with only "nazis" like voat. If people avoid a site because its known for having nazis, only nazis will go there, and that site will become an echochamber. Same if a site would be flooded by communists, or anarchists, or anyone else really - to make sure that a site won't become an echochamber, you have to have people with differing opinions too. If it takes bringing bernie and biden supporters in to achieve that, then so be it. It all goes hand in hand with freedom of speech, doesn't it?

This is just like those attention-seeking "heeeey im trans am I valid???!!???" posts. You can't criticise most of us for thinking that you're a troll, especially after what happened. Seems too fishy.

Sounds like YouTube is starting to "clean house"... do we think gc/radfem content is safe? by sosorreal in GenderCritical

Great! In case they're removed from youtube having them saved would be very useful.

"Heavy handed about censorship". Read the sidebar, this isn't supposed to be a debate sub. You'll have that too, soon enough.

I signed up after the gc reddit ban, I wasn't subbed I had to search it up manually. Considering that I signed up in tandem with this gc sub being created on saidit (after only one hour of it being created) i honestly doubt people are being autosubbed. The 1k count is legit.

True, this is the sort of content that belonged on r/neovaginadisasters before it was banned last year, I think. They could revive that subreddit, but I don't know if saidit's rules would allow it or not.

We'll always have spinster to regroup to in case shtf (again) - but I doubt this will happen on saidit, considering that their whole schtick is about free speech. We should be good for the moment.

Bad idea imo, gender critical should be more resource-oriented/discussion-centered and serious (as it was), while trollgc should be the lighthearted fun-poking it always was. Being able to switch between the 2 is great.
