The goal of Israel isn't military/political though, it's genocidal. All they want to do is make civilian life insufferable for the Palestinians, Hamas is none of their concern.

If/when their neighbours try something for real America will be brought in, Israel has nukes and such, and they'll actually be using their military rather than just dropping bombs on civilians. Your post is assuming Israel is 'trying their best' militarily and is inept militarily, but this is just an assumption. I think jews are more than happy to just terrorise Palestinians without doing any real fighting against combatants because this is what they've been doing forever.

The idea that this should inspire Hezbollah or something I think is a bit fantastical, it seems more like what you want to believe rather than an actual sober analysis. Not saying it's wrong and Israel are actually strong, just that it's not really right either it's just an unknown.

Of course Israel has a military/political goal. It needs to destroy Hamas, if for no other reason than to show that it is strong and can retaliate against a direct attack on its soil. This is what Israel said it was going to do soon after the attacks, and Israel mobilized hundreds of thousands of troops, which is very expensive and taxing on Israel's economy. Everyone assumed that there will be a large-scale Israeli ground operation in Gaza, but that has not been forthcoming.

I don't know how much you know about life in Gaza, but civilian life has already been insufferable before this war. Gaza was basically cut off from the rest of the world. The unemployment rate among young people (under 30) was over 60%. The vast majority of people had no real prospects in life. If the Jews just want to terrorize Palestinians through air strikes, it's not going to solve anything. They can't commit a "genocide" unless they use chemical weapons or something (which I wouldn't totally put past them, but if they do that things will escalate very drastically). Hamas won't be eliminated through mere air strikes. And if Hamas is not totally eliminated, Israel will look very weak, especially after the damage that Hamas managed to inflict on the Israelis.

To put things into perspective, the United States and allied forces began combat operations in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom) on October 7, 2001, less than a month after the 9/11 attacks, and the capital of Kabul fell on November 13. And Afghanistan is a landlocked country located on the other side of the planet as America, while Gaza is a tiny strip of land located right next to Israel.

Yeah, and that worked out great for the US and Afghanistan is now run by a completely different government compared to back then, right?

Israel has 500,000 troops stationed outside of Gaza. Just by sheer numbers they could definitely take Gaza if they kept throwing bodies at it.

The bigger problem is Hezbollah, Syria and Iran would invade from the North and start a two front conflict.

If I was Israel I would send a shitload of drones. Why send troops to get killed when you have technology.

Because they are the obvious aggressors, and they don't want massive public international backlash.

Because Hamas in in tunnels under the city.

They played a bluff hand and pretended to be victims.

They didn't get the global pubic support that had expected.

The PsyOp largely failed.

It appears that they also ended the cloud flare attacks.

Israel has the most badass military in the world. If they are waiting for the best time for a ground attack I'm sure they have a good reason.

They are most likely waiting and plotting. Their probable next step is to unleash a wave of devastating terrorist attacks by Muslims (ISIS-like assets) living in Europe and America, in order to garner additional sympathy for their cause. Or perhaps even kick-start civil wars in countries like France, Britain and Germany between the indigenous peoples and the Muslim invaders, to begin a final war where the formerly Christian West (Edom) and the Islamic East (Ishmael) exterminate each other.
