Reddit seems to struggle with the idea that “allies” isn’t how the world works.

This one is high upvoted on /r/politics. Welcome to reality - “allies” isn’t actually a thing and most non-Western people’s understand intuitively that reality is different groups smashing into each other and attempting to gain hegemony.

Using the term "allies" is psychological warfare/social engineering tactic. If you're not an ally, then you're an...enemy. And only bad people are enemies, right?

But Majewski said the majority is now disrespecting the minority. She noted that a white, Christian-majority city council in 2005 created an ordinance to allow the Muslim call to prayer to be broadcast from the city’s mosques five times daily. It did so over objections of white city residents, and Majewski said she didn’t see the same reciprocity with roles reversed.
