For another perspective of the concept of race being more diluted, see a video by BadMouse. https://www.bitchute.com/video/ZW4qqnN9jU7p/ The video states that religion mattered more than race prior to the advent of colonialism. For example, the people in Ottoman-occupied nations would be different to standard European stock as their nations had fallen under Islamic rule and thus cast away from Christendom. The video also purports that the reason blacks in early American colonies weren't directly taken into slavery, and even were able to own slaves was because they had been converted to Christianity prior to landing in Virginia. This is on top of race and whiteness always being a fluid concept, as he purports. How would you compare these thoughts to what was mentioned in AmRen's video?

It's not a contradiction that there where both religious & racial influences. Your average European never had to fathom living in a multiracial neighborhood before it was actually forced on them via, settling in other continents where different races exist. But Protestants & Catholics did exist on each other's doorsteps and to a lesser extent, Islam as well.

Religion may have mattered more, but societies were just as ethnically homogenous in response. When that balance changed, so did race overtaking religious differences.

Well, the Picts had to deal with it until they were all but wiped out and assimilated, but I guess they weren't your average European.

Correct. While it is true our racial understanding has evolved, it doesn't mean that's the standard we should hold up today. The part where he goes into how our previous understanding of whiteness is still supposed to matter today (16:30), however, is one I'm still not quite certain on.

While it is true our racial understanding has evolved, it doesn't mean that's the standard we should hold up today.

Race, as understood as being based on continental evolution (i.e Europe,Africa,Asia,Americas) is still the best metric we have today.

Even bringing up Colonialism basically confirms this. Diversity, as it was being forced through the Atlantic Slave Trade or European Settlers, never ended peacefully for any distinct group. The end result was always segregation or failed attempts at race mixing. Nobody was actually happy bringing all these races together, when they were already better off living in their original and seperate homelands.
