Old monuments can never be rebuilt. If someone blows up the Pyramids, they're gone forever.

Same with the Sistine Chapel or Notre Dame.

It's also about the message. Again, all the new immigrants are happy to tear these infrastructure down because it's their way of erasing history and replacing it with themselves. Tomorrow, they might blow up Spaceships but then claim it was actually a Gay Transgendered Muslim who first landed on the moon...
