Hey Right-Wingers,
In the past few months, down syndrome kids have been prominent in the news. They are being spearheaded to the most recent campaign to ban abortion, which would make it illegal to abort a fetus that is detected to have downs, or other mental retardation or disability. This, to me, is incredibly wrongheaded. Call it moral particularism if you want, but I absolutely support abortion in instances like this (and with poor, racially committed to crime blacks as well). In the instance of disabilities like downs syndrome, if I had my druthers, abortion would be compulsory.
And then you have the social phenomenon of regular even “popular kids” taking Downs Syndrome out on dates. For five to ten years now, there have been these fluff stories of popular kids asking out the down syndrome classmate to Prom. Does a person, let alone a minor, with this condition understand they are being condescended to? I have read posts on reddit and article comments that after prom or homecoming, the ds minor actually thinks there is romantic interest, and is confused and upset the captain of the football team is not actually dating. Then you have the lost opportunity of young people not taking a person they are actually interested out to homecoming or prom.
This Southern cutie is like a real life Something About Mary, except he is not even her brother.

She could have gone out with a young man—a healthy virile young man—who actually is attracted to her and vice versa. So both she and the would be date are losing a courting opportunity. How in the fuck is that a positive thing?
Finally, most recently in the news there is this down syndrome girl who was excluded from a Jr High cheerleading squad yearbook photo. The mother insists she was actually an official manager. The news media is reporting that also. As with most things, I am confident the media is once again getting it wrong, and that assertion is corroborated by this post with someone in the know on the towns local subreddit.

Salient quote:
The problem is that this story is not accurate. Despite what the sister said, this girl was not on the team nor was she even an official team manager. Like many kids, these cheerleaders unofficially adopted her into their group. The girl did not do competitions with them nor cheer in any official capacity with them.
If you go on reddit, twitter, or article comments sections, no one—to a man—is saying anything other than this horrible, the person who did is heartless, etc.
Now, as someone who has always been incredibly displaced in American society, I am not particularly fond of cheerleader culture. It is kind of a gateway into being a sorority slut, etc. It is a big reason why, unlike in Europe, the most alluring women are far less likely to enjoy alternative music or be individualistic.
For better or for worse though, cheerleading along with other extracurricular activities in American schools are competitive in nature, and thus exclusionary, as cheerleading is also a touchstone of modern American “culture." Everything from cheerleading to football to debate to chess to math club is exclusionary in its own way.
It would, in my view, be just as disruptive if you compelled debate tournaments to include down syndrome. As someone who competed in debate, it would have incensed me if one of my five rounds of Lincoln Douglas debate was used to carry on this charade.
At the most basic, intrinsic level, it shows to me that even those Americans who are inclined to agree concerning things like third world immigration, the replacement etc, have a fundamental, philosophical aversion to hierarchical thinking, to the natural elitism that I believe is the true, proper path for European man. What say You?
