I think this all boils down to a combination of virtue-signaling and pathological altruism. You have people who want to be seen being nice, and it's easy to be nice to an attractive normal person but hard to be nice to someone with a mental disorder who might not fully grasp what's going on. Hence doting upon the DS kids.

I'm not sure how any of this is supposed to be redpilling. I guess you could use it to show how many people worry about "making everyone feel included" over actually achieving anything.

They are being spearheaded to the most recent campaign to ban abortion, which would make it illegal to abort a fetus that is detected to have downs, or other mental retardation or disability. This, to me, is incredibly wrongheaded.

Quoth Ted: "Leftists tend to hate anything that has an image of being strong, good and successful. They hate America, they hate Western civilization, they hate white males, they hate rationality. The reasons that leftists give for hating the West, etc. clearly do not correspond with their real motives. They SAY they hate the West because it is warlike, imperialistic, sexist, ethnocentric and so forth, but where these same faults appear in socialist countries or in primitive cultures, the leftist finds excuses for them, or at best he GRUDGINGLY admits that they exist; whereas he ENTHUSIASTICALLY points out (and often greatly exaggerates) these faults where they appear in Western civilization. Thus it is clear that these faults are not the leftist's real motive for hating America and the West. He hates America and the West because they are strong and successful."

Finally, most recently in the news there is this down syndrome girl who was excluded from a Jr High cheerleading squad yearbook photo. The mother insists she was actually an official manager.

Maybe my experience with DS people is too limited, but how can anyone possibly think someone like that would be officially managing anything? This should make the whole story immediately smell fishy.

The reason I find it redpillng stems from philosophical reasons. It seems hyper democratic, anti-elitisr. I do not mean elitism such as this or that person did not go to a 50k a year boarding school. I mean natural elitism. Also these mainstream, principled conservatives want to ban euthanizing D's and other deformed babies through abortion (nevermind waht a financial and psychological toll in the family that must be), whereas I think it should be compulsory.
How are people who--to a man--think the story of the down syndrome Girl in Utah was a travesty going to be willing to use lethal force to enforce borders and immigration. With that mindset, you will never overcome things like Sea Eye Four and turn back African immigrant boats with the sort of brutality that would actually solve the problem.
