You're being deliberately obtuse. A couple of Danish alternative media websites don't have the same power that the mainstream media has.

Everyone is free to turn off the TV and go outside. Or smuggle outside material and distribute it. I think you guys give the media too much credit. It's only as powerful as you make it out to be.

Even in North Korea, the state having a monopoly over the news isn't proof the average North Korean believes in it. There's actually a thriving black market where North Koreans are happy to give up their monthly paycheck to get smuggled goods from China.

I believe similar stories also existed in the USSR. No one actually believed Stalin was god, they just had to go along with it until he died.

    It's delusional to think anyone is forced to consume media. I actually think it's unhealthy. Less people shouldn't be glued to the TV or Computer but actually focusing on their real lives and careers. The media is only powerful when people forget the rest of the world exists. Ask communities like the Amish what they think about CNN or Fox News? They'll tell you they probably never even heard of them because they refuse to make it apart their daily schedules. If you can't do that, that demonstrates you somehow lack impulse or control.

    You said that plenty of competition exists. Please elaborate how you think there is plenty of media competition in Denmark.

    The internet is competition. Unless they're blocking websites, what is stopping Danes from going online and picking out their preferred news source? Or if they have Cable/Satellite subscription, they can watch foreign media.

    What more do you want? The government to ban all left-wing media (which is the complete opposite of supporting competition)? I think it's pretty obvious that any free-market society not ruled by a dictator is going to have alternative sources of information readily available. Whether or not said media is popular is irrelevant. It's not exactly forced on you if there's an option to actually opt out.

    Yes I want the government to ban or punish left-wing media like it is punishing right wing media in Denmark.

    I also want the government to financially support right wing media like it is supporting left wing media.

    I also want our school system to teach kids about right wing media and demonizing left wing media - the opposite of how it is currently. I also want the state media to be right wing and not left wing.

    You talk about "free market" when it is not.

    There's a fair argument to be made that both left and right media should have access to equal funding. But the state banning either side is just going to fuel resentment and create an echo chamber.

    And keep in mind that even if the government offered up equal funding to both sides, it doesn't mean the Danish people can't still lean towards one direction. There's a saying "equal opportunities does not guarantee equality of outcomes". It should still be job of the Right to convince or persuade more people to join their side instead of forcing it. And I don't say this based on any bias. The entire point of being a Politician is a full time job. A bit of effort is required instead of just being paid to be lazy.

    It should still be job of the Right to convince or persuade more people to join their side instead of forcing it.

    We will force the school system to indoctrinate the kids into right wing thinking. Any teacher that is left wing will be snitched by their students and punished/put in jail.

    Of course, its still the free market and danes will have access to the internet, right? So plenty of competition. Oh, I forgot. Yes, we will ban left wing material on the internet, so danes don't fall for "misinformation".

    It's still the free market, right?

    Was this a sarcastic jab at left-wingers jailing people for wrong-think? Outside of actual criminal behavior like murder or rape, I don't support the government jailing someone for having non-violent beliefs.

    The Right-Wing can still operate within those rules like the rest of society.
